The cafe is large and clean with a variety of different formats for the children to play in. Having a dress up area, some segmented areas for blocks and trains, and individual "store fronts" was great. Our kids had a wonderful time. The only reason I took a star away was inconsistent application of rules as many children were not wearing grip socks while it was included as a requirement. We were asked to purchase these from the cafe when we checked in... which if it is an established rule is fine, but a little annoying that the rule isn't universally applied. The play cafe is also a bit more expensive at ~$17 per child ages 1-10 with no discount for multiple children (as of Feb 2026) compared to other play cafes we have been to. It also did start getting quite crowded around 10:00 AM and there didn't seem to be an end in sight. Still, it is a nice cafe and I'd recommend it to others looking for a place to take your kids, especially if you can avoid the peak periods.

They are huge and some can appear a bit intimidating. I wish I had a place like this when I was little. They also have a small zip line, a two basketball courts. This happened in a play area specifically designed for young children. Thankfully, my child was not hurt, but that was pure luck. The potential outcome here is horrifying to think about. A sharp weapon in a toddler ball pit represents a serious failure in safety, supervision, and inspection protocols. I immediately notified management. While the manager was kind, the severity of the situation felt dismissed. No immediate safety checks were done. No effort was made to notify other families currently playing. I was told "I just don't want you to leave and go tell all your friends that Smiley's is terrible." I'm sharing this not for attention and not to complain--but to bring awareness to other parents. Smiley's stayed open and operating like it's any other day. I will continue to advocate for children's safety and truly hope this leads to real change so no other family has to experience this fear--or something far worse. I'll keep sharing because meaningful change only happens when people speak up.

For context: it's Indiana winter, it was cold, and I had a hooded sweatshirt on with the hood up because I was freezing. During my 2 1/2-hour stay, I spoke with two managers about memberships--neither said a word about my hood. While walking around trying to keep up my child, I heard someone off to the side say, "Take your hood off." I approached the man, who asked me politely. I politely asked why it was a rule. His response was shocking: "So I can see your entire face on my 50 cameras." This was 11:30 a.m. on a Friday, not a packed weekend night. I turned away to continue looking for my child, removed the hood, and muttered "whatever dude" under my breath. That's when the situation escalated wildly. He charged toward me, yelling: "I'm the owner--if you don't like it, leave!" I had already complied. That wasn't enough. He then shouted: "I'll give you your money back!" And finally said something that truly crossed a line: "If there are off-colored people with hoods up and we ask them to take it down, what would that look like?" I'm still trying to understand why race was brought into this at all. Let me be clear: * The facility is great for kids * The staff and managers were wonderful * We were not leaving anytime soon until this happened But the owner's behavior was aggressive, unnecessary, and completely inappropriate. A simple rule explanation would've sufficed. Instead, it turned into a power trip with racial commentary that had no place in the conversation. Rules are rules--but how you enforce them matters. This place needs staff, it needs organization and new cars that are not old and break all the time, also the when you have rain coming in from the ceiling, and have to block of most of the track for liability, you might want to shut down for a day to fix that.
