The delicious and gorgeous cookies - A decorated cookie with the message 'Welcome Baby Jaxon!' and colorful candy beads, placed on a table with cutlery and a glass of water.

Tammy saved me when my other Baker canceled on me a little over a week before my Son and Daughter in heart Baby Shower. I had ordered Cake Shooters and Cookies and they turned out absolutely DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL!!! She not only fulfilled my order, but she made them look so much nicer than previous baker. I will NEVER go to another bakery ever again, Serendipity will be my forever place!

a cupcake and a bag of cookies - Ice cream and baked treats are displayed on a table at Seelipity Cakery & Ice Cream Shoppe, with a branded paper bag in the background.

Great place and location! Friendly service and awesome sweets and treats! Nice little outdoor seating area to eat some ice cream they serve! Come check them out!!

Hot cocoa bomb

Talented owner, however, she's not real friendly, I guess some folks lack ppl person skills but any-who.... Whatever your sweet tooth desires she has cake pop drops, cupcakes, cocoa bombs and more to satisfy your sugar craving. If ever in the downriver stop by and try it, it won't disappoint.

Cookies

These were the best for my son's graduation party! They were so popular, I didn't get to have a cookie! The staff is always friendly when we visit. They are definitely my go-to for any dessert needs.

This is what I ordered. same colors and even sent pictures

I am not one to complain and love to shop local and small businesses. The worst decision I made was trusting A Serendipity Cakery to make cake pops for my daughters wedding shower. Not only were they the size of dum dum suckers. I ordered green with white and white with green (7 dozens, 3 different flavors). I sent the picture attached to this review of what I ordered (the pretty ones) First all cake pops were green absolutely no white ones. They were all thrown in one big box mixed together in a pile. a few even feel off the sticks. To add to my disappointment. Every single cake pop was wrapped separate with their logo on each and every cake pop (which was bigger than the cake pop). As I mentioned this was for a bridal shower many of times to them and it was in writing. Who would want to put out cake pops on their dessert table with their advertising. Needless to say I had to unwrap all of them. I've never been more disappointed with a Bakery as with Serendipity. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM THIS PLACE.

a beach theme

Tammy and her staff are awsome!! Last minute cake order, only had ideas of a few themes I wanted and they made my ideas (Beach, 420, and Boobs) work. They made the cake spectacular.

Our cake that fell apart before it got to the venue

I ordered a cake from A Serendipity Cakery in Wyandotte two months before a very elegant and catered baby shower I was hosting (which was this past weekend, July 25). We gave the owner, Tammie, a picture of what we wanted the cake to look like and she said she had no problem doing that with butter cream frosting. Saturday, July 25th, my husband and I arrive to pick up the cake. When we got there, Tammie seemed a bit frazzled and surprised that we were there, even though she knew we were coming. She then told me that the ruffles (frosting) on the cake had started to fall and that she was in the process of fixing it. Okay, no big deal; so we waited until she finished. She then taped up the sides of the box, leaving the lid open. She brought the cake over to us and from what little I could see, it didn't look even as anticipated; but with needing a cake 2 hours before the shower, I just sucked it up and figured it would do. Where else would I find a decent cake in 2 hours??? Tammie then loaded the cake into our heavily air conditioned vehicle and assured us it would be fine where she placed it. We then drove carefully to the venue (15 -20 minutes tops) and as we got the cake out, it was obvious from the opening that it was a complete disaster; the frosting had fallen and cracked and there was no way for us to fix this. We immediately called Tammie, and she came out to the venue, which we appreciated. She took the cake in the back of the kitchen at our venue and proceeded to work on it. A little while into our shower, Tammie asked me to come in the back where she showed me the cake she fixed. It still didn't look remotely close to what we had hoped, but I was just grateful that we even had a cake to put out for all of our guests (who had been asking about it.) Although Tammie apologized, not once did she offer to give any type of refund. She and I were alone in the kitchen, so she had the perfect opportunity to offer some type of restitution. And at that point, I was just too frazzled trying to host the shower and deal with the cake situation to think about it. Once Tammie left and we were able to display the cake (which, again, looked nothing like we requested,) it was obvious that it was completely lopsided. Our guests were referring to the cake as the "Leaning Tower of Pisa," which was a tad embarrassing. I'm not sure if it was leaning because one of the tiers were cut wrong, or because of the fact that there was only one (yes ONE) dowel rod in the entire cake! And with the frosting issue aside, as stated above, the cake did not look like what we had requested. I did not expect that the cake was going to be an exact replica; however, the cake we received looked very amateurish. Prior to the cake being fixed, the grey band around the top tier was VERY uneven and the small pearls around the band (which were not on the original cake pictured, nor requested,) were uneven and sloppy. It also seemed like they were placed there to cover up the unevenness of the band. For me, the cake was one of the most important parts of the shower and was something I personally was looking forward to displaying. And as I stated; Tammie did not offer any type of compensation the day of the event. And she never contacted us until my friend wrote a review on Facebook stating that she was disappointed with the cake and would not recommend them to anyone else. Only THEN did Tammie reach out and offer to reimburse me HALF of what I paid for the cake. I paid $95.40 for THAT cake! And she wanted to reimburse me $47.20 - I would not have paid $20 for that cake. Tammie also kept mentioning how she drove all the way to Flat Rock to fix our cake, as if we were supposed to feel bad that she drove all that way or was the hero to save the day. I appreciated the fact that she did come out to fix it, but at the same time, isn't that what she SHOULD do? And not make her clients feel as if she was doing them a favor? Especially considering the entire cake incident was not our fault and clearly had issues before we even left the shop. I don't know if this cake we requested was beyond the expertise of their bakery, but I feel like this should not have happened. It was disheartening as we put our trust in Tammie and her bakery. At the end of the day, this wasn't the end of the world and the baby shower turned out lovely, but I felt that the situation with this cake detracted from it and gave unnecessary stress. If Tammie was proud of the end result of this cake, then I hate to see what kinds of cakes she may send out to other clients. I am not posting this to bash A Serendipity Cakery. Plenty of people have had excellent cakes from there. However I personally do not feel that she is capable of doing more complicated cakes (such as weddings) and just want others who may be considering ordering a specialty cake to be aware. Do your research and read reviews. I wish I had.

I'm not sure that I've ever had better desserts and the like anywhere. The cake pops and other desserts are outstanding. They recently opened a storefront in Wyandotte, but have been serving Downriver through various famer's markets, expos and other events for many years. The grand opening party was a blast, they brought in Ms. Michigan 2015, a DJ and the Back to the Future DeLorean replica. Check out the website or FB page for more on their pricing, I can't comment on that due to not shopping with them outside of the various events and special occasions I've been to over the years. The owner is also very generous, often giving money and desserts to various charities across the region.

This is how small this cake was, if not for the toys there would be nothing, even the frosting job was uneven

My daughter in law ordered a birthday cake for my 3 year old granddaughter, paw patrol of course, it was the worst, over priced cake I've ever seen, a small two tier cake, that was very amateur looking, for a bakery, my kids were very disappointed, the frosting was a sugary gritty tasting thing, flavor of cake wasn't too bad, thank God for the paw patrol toys on it , it surely wasn't worth the money I wouldn't pay 20.00 for it....I would never recommend this place,

I can't recommend this place enough!!! They made me a BEAUTIFUL NUMBER 29 cake For my sister for her birthday. i sent them a photo of what I wanted and omg it looked just like the picture I sent!!! The cake was moist, delicious and handled with care!! My sister and all the partygoers were awestruck! I can't thank Serendipity enough for this, and TRUST!!! This is going to be my go to place for future birthdays!!! Thanks again!!! :)

Doctor Who TARDIS cake

We had a Doctor Who TARDIS cake made for my older son's graduation dinner. They have so many wonderful cake flavors so it was challenging for his brother and me to choose! We ended up going with half salted chocolate pretzel (a marble cake) and half salted caramel. Both were amazing and very moist. Their cake decorator made additions to the cake with fondant, as well as a 5" tall mini TARDIS out of all fondant. They were able to accommodate our requests with a really quick turnaround given how busy they are. Highly recommended!

I purchased a cake and cake drops for my daughter's Alice in Wonderland party. The cake was exactly like the picture I sent (the first photo) and everything tasted delicious! I will definitely be patronizing this bakery again.

The cake and decoration were great but no one sadly liked the frosting, it was way to thick and WAY to sweet.
