Visited royal nails for the first time yesterday for a pedicure. Everyone was very welcoming, offering bottled water. Very busy salon, but as a walk-in I had no trouble getting in for a pedicure. The pedicure was terrific, I got the one with paraffin wax, price was $45. It took a little longer than I thought... Which is usually OK, Except I was in a little hurry, not the nail technicians fault. She was very good at massage and detailed to the toenails. My pedicure came out perfect! I will be back read more

Came here for mani-pedis with my mom and sister ahead of a wedding. They were able to get us all in at the same time and had plenty of times available day-of. Prices were the best I've seen in all of Massachusetts. We were all very pleased with the outcome of our nails. My sister and I got full set of acrylics which looked very natural and exactly like the picture I showed them. My acrylics lasted 3+ weeks (usually only last ~1.5-2 weeks for me). My mom got gel and it lasted her longer than average as well. Service was very good. Watched a holiday movie on the TVs. Highly recommend and would return! read more

Price Transparency. I went in for a pedicure and they showed me the price list. I select a price and when I went to pay it was $20 higher than the price for the pedicure I chose. When I questioned it I was told it's because I got gel. If the price for the pedicure did not include gel nail polish that should have been disclosed. An extra $20 for gel nail polish sounds absurd to me. This salon also offers 5% if you pay in cash. However, I have to remind them of their own policy every time. If you don't remind them, even though you are paying in cash you won't get the discount. They always quote the higher price. That's very dishonest I won't be going back. read more

I'm writing this review out of concern for the safety of future clients. My mom recently visited this salon and noticed that the tools were not properly sterilized between clients. There was no visible cleaning or disinfecting done before or after they began her service, which is extremely worrying. Improper sanitation can lead to serious health risks including fungal infections, hepatitis C, or even HIV. In worst-case scenarios, people have lost toes due to infections from unsanitary salon practices. This is not something to take lightly. We urge the salon to take proper health precautions seriously and to thoroughly disinfect all tools and stations between every client. The safety and health of your customers should be a top priority. Until we see that sanitation protocols are being followed consistently and transparently, we unfortunately cannot recommend this place to others. Tom came recommended. I had several appointments with Tom and the nail tech was ALWAYS late. I was told he was a relative of the owner and they always made excuses for him. I ALWAYS had to wait for him. The last appt. I waited then he did my nails. He walked me over to have them dry and I said 3 x's that "no top coat was put on". He finally answered and said "I never put a top coat". I told him he "always did". He then put it on and that was the last time I was there. I got tired of waiting and he did not seem right. Today is Tuesday, I got my nails done friday evening and they are already chipping. Overpriced and crappy quality. I will not be returning. I know I got the basic manicure but it should last at least a week if not fives days! I was also rushed to pick out a color. I had to go home and file them because he only trimmed them and didn't bother shaping them. This is not my first complaint. If I could give less than A star, I would. I had the tech w the wonky eye, if you've ever been here- you know who I'm talking about. She sucks, rushes through everything!!! Literally made me bleed & burnt me many times with the "drill." I had to point out multiple uneven bumps in the acrylic. She'd act like she didn't even see them, there's no way! Laziness. My middle finger nail still looks CRAZY, after I had her fix it. My nails are terrible. She never touched my cuticles. Never used a top coat or even lotioned my hands!!! Then charged me for GEL. On top of FAKE NAILS. I told her, I didn't ask for gel, she also didn't ask before she used gel. I just wanted a normal refill. Then she charged me so much more for a decision SHE MADE. She told me people don't use just "regular nail polish anymore" so she doesn't even ask. Bullshit. That's just a scam tactic of hers. Gel on top of acrylic is just unnecessary!! I had just flown in from Arizona; so I didn't feel like arguing. She's lucky. BUT I'm 100% disputing the charge & now they'll get nothing- bc they're scam artists that'll do anything for a few bucks, who act like they care about what kind of business they are running. Who allows this kind of treatment & work representing them?!!! Any reputable company would have charged me for the service I WANTED, not for what THEIR TECH decided. This place needs to be shut down. I've never been to a more filthy and unhygienic nail salon in my entire life. The utensils that were used on me clearly had not bend washed between uses, the UV machine was crusty and felt like it had crumbs in it? I don't know what it was because I was too scared to look. Absolutely awful. First of all, they took off my previous gels (which were done perfectly well and were smooth) and then complained they couldn't apply polish well because my nails were "uneven." Four of my gels have dirt in them, they clipped one of my fingers (it bled), and they insisted I pull money out of the ATM even though they allowed my friend to pay with Venmo. Went in with 3 friends yesterday and got a very basic pedicure. Tech barely put in any effort, cut my nails unevenly and was probably the rudest tech I've ever had, right from the minute we walked in. She kept trying to upsell me on service and seemed pretty annoyed that I didn't want to go up a level. At least she didn't cut me, unlike my friend seated next to me who's toe was cut so badly it was bleeding. The OWNER, Kim, is a good kind honest and hardworking person. She deserves repeat clients. The tech made me cry. Charges me more for same service each time I've patronized the bs and w/ in weeks later. She yelled at me when they didn't have the color I chose -- they ran out and then forced me to choose the colors she had chosen and blamed me for taking up her time. I settled to avoid a scene. I was so embarrassed -- and speechless -- the behavior displayed was unacceptable!!! If you go -- make sure you ask up front the charges and be clear what you want -- also make them pull out the color you want ahead. And chose a second color in case. The owners are kind --- and they have worked so hard to make this bs. Be kind and patronize them. If you are new ask who they recommend because not all techs will pamper you. The water was cold. Like it's just been sitting there. Finally he refits the tub and I get warm water. The pedicure started at 11:05 and ended at 11:18. Wtf. Had to ask him numerous times to fix a nail. He also had blood on his hand and had to be told by his co workers to wipe it off. Mind you the towels are beyond gross. Don't waste your time or money. 6/11/18 10am- had a basic pedi by Tammi. Visiting MA from PA. Walk in with no appt- taken right away. I think I had looked at polish for approx 30 seconds when the tech called me. Pedi really was BASIC, done quickly, nearly no attention to heels, while I was sitting in a massage chair- no massage! The "hot towel" was the one she put in the foot basin- and ran hot water over... I should say- that the tech did tell me three times that there were additional services that came with the DELUXE pedi...along with an additional up sell of a manicure... Total time from sitting down to the nail dryer- 25 minutes or less... I can also add- as a former nail tech myself- the shape and length of my nails in the picture- IS ALL ME. I called them 5 minutes before I walked in since I didn't have much time on hand, the guy on the phone was so upbeat and welcoming and said *walk right in of course we'll take you in honey*. And that was so true, I walked in and there was a manicurist waiting for me. They are huge and have many people working and were super busy! The people working there were all in great spirits. They have TVs all around ALL around the salon and play good movies constantly. They offer water periodically and make sure you're comfortable! Please note this is on my latest visit...I love my nail tech and now will only visit her. I have been a regular at Royal Nails since they opened. I aslo have jumped from nail tech to nail tech as my original nail tech was always busy even 3 weeks out...I just settled on another nail tech who is awesome. I get a callus pedi and she leaves me super smooth. Like Super smooth. Today I went in for a mani pedi as i am going on vacation tonight and needed one asap, Lily was not available (my regular nail tech), I was desperate so I went with the next one. Normally, the person they assign you does your mani and pedi...This lady left me mid-session (nails were next) to go with another customer. The next lady was ok very sweet. Once my pedi dried up I saw how horrible the job was... Apologies for the picture (on my facebook review), it was a must. I paid extra for a service I did not receive. I am am very unsatisfied. I went over to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager and they told me she was doing someones eyelashes. They ended up calling the nail tech and she was trying to smooth one over on me offering me oil and such...NO. I wanted to make a formal complaint as the manager is awesome and always asks me to let them know when the job is not well done. Here is the job not well done. Easily the worst fill and color I've ever had. Second time coming first time was ok this time was terrible. Girl had me bleeding the whole time, didn't seem to know the proper steps, broke a nail so instead of removing and reapplying she said it didn't need to be fixed and attempted to use the acrylic to fix..didn't work, my nails are lumpy and uneven. Had 3 different people working on me, all of which didn't happen to notice how horrendous they came out. Lastly the price seems to keep changing, my first fill was $20 and today it was $15, not complaining about my price dropping but super shady. My wife went there today for a manicure and pedicure for the first time after getting this place recommended by others. Let me say this was the most disappointing service she has ever seen. She asked the lady servicing her for a simple french manicure and pedicure but ended up getting something completely trashy. I think the lady was in a hurry or something because the quality was very poor, the nails had no shape and all the french manicures were very uneven. She told the lady that there is something wrong and that she is not satisfied but she respond to her saying that they look perfect to her. Definitely never going back there. I have toe fungus on both my big toes from a pedicure at Royal nails. The week of the 4th if July, I went to Royal just like I usually do. When she took off my yellow polish, I noticed my 2 toenails were a little discolored. At the time I thought maybe I dropped something and bruised them, because that's common for myself. She cleaned them and kept looking them over, but never said a word to me. She painted over them, with a dark red polish that I requested. But again, she never said anything about my toe discoloration. The nail artists are professionals, she should have suggested I don't continue with the service until my toes clear up. It was my fault also, for continuing the service but I was completely clueless regarding toe fungus. I overlooked it, and left the red on for a few weeks. When I finally took it off for an at home pedicure, my toe nails are now dark brown and almost purple. One star is generous to say the least. read more

Words can not describe the damage my nails, toenails and psyche have endured. MANICURE: Not only did I have raw bleeding infected throbbing useless fingers for a week from when the woman SAWED through my actual finger skin (pressing down on my fingers like she was sawing a loaf of bread over and over and over instead of simply filing my nail) even after I said "ouch", but also my nails are now paper thin because she filed the TOP of my nails with the coarse file too for whatever reason. If they were even able to grow long enough, I could probably roll them up like a piece of paper even WITH the gel/shellac on. Which by the way chipped badly after just a few days and I am normally able to maintain a gel manicure for 3 weeks to a month. I have never had a worse experience. They didn't look that great after all that either. PEDICURE: Everything was fine except the oozing bruised ingrown toenails I developed from the way she dug in there and clipped the sides of my toenails out. They ended up being so painful that I couldn't walk for a couple days and had to leave them in little Epsom salt filled toe bags so they could grow without digging into my skin anymore. Also the paint chipped off pretty quickly and I can normally maintain a pedicure for about a month or until the paint grows off. I have been horrified to the point where I am nervous to try another place on the east coast because I don't want anyone to touch my hands or toes. Don't you have to go to school for this??? S.O.S. please get real technicians before someone loses a finger or toe. read more

Will never go back here again. I can't believe how rude the staff was to me and my niece! The tools looked like they were just bagged and not actually autoclaved. I told them we were just coming for pedicures and they continued to try and upsell my 9 year old niece to get her nails done as well, to make me have to Repeatedly say no. I have been going to this place for the last couple years, after my regular nail salon closed. Initially, I was impressed with the service - it is always packed, but they were always swift with greeting you and getting you settled in a chair. And honestly I never had a problem with the jobs they did on my nails, but it seems like every time I go it gets a little worse each time. I initially only pretty much had pedicures and then eventually started getting getting manicures with Gel Polish. My biggest problems have been with the Manicures. They initially started fine, then I began having problems. I went for one and the tech was rushing... I typically always get a gel French Manicure. When I got home I looked and 2 of my white tips had bubbles/holes in them. I tried to just ignore them , but then the next day 8 of my fingers had the same thing - like the gel hadn't set properly. I ended up going back and they did fix it, but the tech was so rough with my hands/nails. Then in subsequent visits in getting my nails done - when I am putting my hands under the UV lights my fingers under my nails literally feel like they are on fire... that is not normal. I mentioned it to them and they looked at me like they had no idea what I was talking about. The final straw was that After my last mani my fingers inreasingly got sore & itchy... i finally removed the polish myself and quickly realized that I had infections in 2 of my nails (One on each hand). Strongly believe to be from unhygienic instruments being used. Sad to say I don't think I will ever be back there. I am looking for a new place now. read more

So, I am completely disappointed in my mani-pedi... I had gone in with the intention of getting gel on both but quickly was informed that I am too poor to get gel on my feet. I brushed it off and received just a plain old pedicure. Upon my arrival I had to change the color of my nails 3 times because they were "out" of the colors I had chosen. So, I chose a different "nude" that turned out to be bubble gum pink. Once leaving the salon I looked down at my hands and feet and noticed the horrific job they had done on both me and my cousin. Three days later my nails are chipping off and they are gel. I will not be recommending this nail salon to anyone. To preface, I came here because 2 friends recommended this place. I drove 40 minutes on a Friday afternoon to try this place. This place was absolutely horrible. They rush you in and out. Their tables are disgusting with other people's nail chunks from before you. They soak your hands in BOWLS of acetone and don't wrap each finger if you get powder dip off. This place was so dirty... I would never get a pedi there cause you'd probably get a disease from their nasty materials. I asked for a specific color and the woman doing my nails literally told me no and judged me for the color I wanted because "it's too early for maroon"... I asked for a specific design and got nothing close to what I asked for. They try to up-sell you for every cent. I asked for powder and was hounded for five minutes to get ombré because it's $10 more. These people only care about how much money they make. The manicure had no cuticle treatment. $40 to take my powder off and put new powder on. No massage, no cuticle treatment or anything. As we were leaving the owner saw my mothers face was unhappy so she ran out behind us and said "what's wrong with your face? You don't like your nails" and spend 15 minutes yelling at my mother in the parking lot because of our comments on the place. Come to find out they charge $10 extra to do a cuticle treatment and the owner did not even care that we said her salon was dirty. It's been one day since my nails and one of them has split in half because of the horrible job they did. I will NEVER go back there again. I've never been somewhere where I had to fix my own nails when I got home. This place is dirty and disgusting and only cares about making money. Not to mention the way the OWNERS treat their customers. Now I have to spend extra money to go somewhere and have them redone. I'd rather spend LESS for a better manicure that will actually cut my cuticles and massage my hands. If anyone has tips on somewhere that's actually good and polite and clean, let me know. read more

I love this place! Angle and T are my favorite. T does my acrylics every time. I've never left unhappy. Since I've found this place I CANNOT go anywhere else. They have the biggest selection of colors, and are consistantly adding more. They keep up with trending new hot techniques, and I'm always excited to try anything they recommend. The hot stone pedicure with paraffin wax, and massage is a MUST. I die and float to heaven every time I treat myself. I rant and rave about this place to everyone I know...
