I will never take my dog here again. Here's a list of my reasons. 1. When I got in with my dog there was a man ahead of me waiting to pick up his dog. The owner was at a table shaving a little dog. Other dogs were barking and the little dog was gettin anxious and fidgeting a lot. She grabed the dogs leg, yanked it and yelled (growled) at him to "just stop it". She looked up quickly, seemingly making sure no one saw her, and moved her tone down to a semi-smooth cuddly one. I think she thought no one saw her, but I did. I was a little concerned, but put it aside. 2. My dog was frantic (new, loud place) and trying to jump on my lap. Puppy was growling at the woman, which he hardly ever does, and I knew if I picked him up and gave him to her, he would settle down. Instead she snapped at me to let him alone. She was trying to pet him, and he wasn't playing. I told her to rub his tummy and he settled down. Then she said something like, if you listen to me theres no problem (paraphrased) (Sorry this is so long, but I am just angry) I was a tiny bit worried something would happen to him. 3. I got back and reached over the little gate to calm the puppy down, and again she snapped" dontreach over MY gate" and proceded to tell me how I could get bit. Perhaps, but I thought her very melodramatic since my dog was the only one there. I realized, as an after thought, Angie was trying to keep me from seeing my dogs stomach, and the injury. 4. Her attitude toward me and my dog was absolutly condescending. Her roughness toward that first dog, and mine was what made me not want to take my puppy there again, but the reason I'm writing is... **my puppy had a nice bloody divit removed from his belly and she never even told me. In the past my dog was nipped twice during different groomings. Both times I was told about the injury at pickup. She never said a word to me about the injury. Also there were a few places the shears had left deep cuts in his fur. She told me she wasnt going to cut the ears and tail. She could have at least mentioned it to me...." oh, by the way... ears and tail really needed trimming, contrary to what I said before." One ear was shortened, one was not She also cut the tuffs of hair at the top of one ear and it looks like a misplaced cowlick. Not as cute as it sounds. After all that she made sure to point out I could leave a tip. I'm so angry I could spit like a cat. I want my $10 tip back, and half the cutting charge. Now I am telling everyone I know, and people at the dog parks, This woman does not deserve your business. She is disingenuous, she lies and takes her anger out on the animals. Yeah, the next one could be fine... but why would any one take a chance with their family. Little clues add up. Some times we ignore what we think is unrelated, even though it nags at your brain. Dont let it go. UPDATE SAME DAY I Just gave my dog some through attention and found a huge fur divit under the chin, and a nice shaved line under the collar area. I have posted pictures. The owner Angie is rude! I will never take my dogs back to her. Today my two little dogs a Shitzu and a YorkieShu has an appointment at 9:30am. When I got there she told me it will take a while because there are 3 dogs ahead of my dogs so I said fine I will wait for their call when they are ready to be pick up. So Angie the owner and the groomer check my Shitzu and she told me her 4 legs are matted and she told me that I don't brush my dog. How does she knows I do brush my dogs and since my Shitzu has a very thick hair I make sure that everyday I brush them. So she said that she is not going to fix that matted hair and her haircut will be short just short, I said fine. Before I left I ask her how much will be the cost for both of them do I know what to expect to pay and she quote me $115 total for both of my dogs. I said ok. So I left and waited for them to call me when they are finish, I finally got a call around 3:15pm. I went there to pick them up and she is on the phone. So after her conversation she told me it is $65 each of them total of $130. So I said before I left this morning I ask you and you told me it is $115 and I agree with that. Now you're telling me it's $65 each? Then she said she never said that what the heck I know what she told me that's why I'm expecting that is how much I will pay and of course I will also include tip on top of that $115 price she told me. She goes well your dog 4 feet are matted and the other dog bites. She said ok I'm not gonna argue with you you can pay $115 but I will not groom your dogs anymore! Who cares if you don't want to groom my dogs anymore you are so rude! Update: 7/4/2018 my poor Shitzu develop a scab after the haircut done at A quality grooming, I discovered a scrape behind his neck, it was cut all the way to the skin and it caused her skin to be dry and looks like it got infected! Angie is great. Got back yesterday from a grooming appointment and Murphy looks AWESOME! She got me into see her for the full package that same afternoon that I called and was so friendly when I came in with my dog. We will definitely come again if we need some grooming services. Murphy is a cocker spaniel which means he has hair EVERYWHERE! She got in between his toes, his belly, he looks so much better. She also did his nails which I couldn't bring myself to do! I just called to schedule an appointment and was told they are booked for a month and a half straight!! OK I can appreciate being amazing (per reviews posted), but dog groomer booked for that long seems ridiculous. For those of you "complimenting" my review with your complaints find something better to do. Or better yet, keep whining and give this place 5 stars so you can make it all better. Brought my dog buster here after taking him to petco for a year. Angie is great and she gets him in and out in about 2 hours, compared to Petco where I have to leave him for 4-6 hours. Lexie and Isi love Angie. What a beautiful grooming they received on a very special day. Lexie, a 7 month old Shih Tzu/Chihuahua was meeting her only surviving sibling for a reuniting play date. RUDE AF!! Taken my pom here before and when I got her back only thing that looked trimmed were her back hairs. I let it go cause her prices were fair. This review is on her customer service that she REALLY needs to work on! Left a message for an appt for 2 dogs to get nails & 1 for a trim when she finally got back to me like 3 days later it was like she had a bad morning & had to take it out on me. Not only was her voice tone sounded annoyed but she started making assumptions when we started talking about dates available. She seriously said, "if you make an appt don't call me like 50x to find out when your dogs are ready, I'll call you!" In the most bitchy way! As if I had brought up I would call her; Then after she says that I asked well how long would it take, she talked to me like I was stupid, saying "first come first served - so 1st dog will go 1st, 2nd dog will go 2nd" ---by this point I was pissed cause I fuckin knew that but I wanted to know times!! Like if she was going to take 3 hrs per dog!! Once It was very clear she was a bitch w/no customer service skills - I just told her this isn't going to work out. After taking my dog to this groomer for many years I have decided to start going elsewhere. The previous receptionist never returned calls and was hard to understand when he did answer the phone. When I called to find out if my dog was ready for pick up I left a message with my number to call back. I was then called back by the current receptionist yelling that Angie was working alone and it would be another hour. When I went to pick my dog up Angie herself yelled at me that she was working alone and I was accused of giving her receptionist a hard time which was untrue. Let me explain... The Monthly GRAPEVINE pamphlet, which goes to thousands of of residents in Napa & Solano Counties, features a 1/2 page Advertisement for "A Quality Grooming". I called on 7/18/2017 to schedule an appointment for my Yorkie. I left a message and the owner called me back promptly. I had mentioned that I had found her business in the GrapeVine on my message. She booked my appointment for the very next day, which I was very happy about. I then got another call from the owner within 5 min. of booking the appointment. She wanted to let me know that the GrapeVine discount would not be honored until the 2nd appointment. I was confused... I didn't mention the discount when booking & really didn't even notice it. I was just looking for a groomer that could accommodate my needs. I then looked at the 1/2 page ad and noticed that it specifically states that the $10. OFF coupon is only for "First Time Clients". Again... No Big Deal. I am happy to get the appointment and pay the $55. for the service. About 2 hours later, I get a call from "A Quality Grooming" employee confirming my appointment. I confirmed & then I said, " I just want to mention that when I was talking to the owner earlier she mentioned that the discount in GrapeVine was only available on 2nd bookings when it clearly promotes that it is for "New Clients Only". "I am not worried about the $10. and I am not asking you to offer me a discount, but... I wanted you to know that the coupon also expires on August 15, 2017 and I don't think most people will groom their pups in less than 30 days." I also told her that I had been in the hospitality & customer service industry for over 20 years and that was the only reason I was pointing this out. Two minutes later my phone rang and it was the owner. She was ANGRY and very Rude. She started the conversation off explaining to me that the discount would not be offered because ~ "people just use it and then do not come back". Eventually she told me that she DID NOT WANT MY BUSINESS... I did not interrupt her and listened for at least 90 seconds... She then said ~ "Are you still there?" I responded ~ "I am just listening........" I then told her that the discount was not important to me. I explained that what was important to me was that my PuP was in good hands. Let's just say this lady has anger issues. At this point I was certain that she would never lay a hand on my pup and I would take my business elsewhere:) Customer Loyalty is Earned! Let's just say that if you do good work your clients will rebook because of your work... not because of a discount. The irony of it all is I didn't even want a discount. Let's just say a business owner should NEVER HANG UP ON A CLIENT. I went on Google and booked another appointment with a very pleasant & accommodating representative for $20. more than I would have paid at "A Quality Grooming"... WOW! I literally said that when i walked through the door. My dog is huge and is so fluffy and had a ton of matted undercoat fur...it was all gone! He looked amazing and was so soft. The pricing was better than the chain pet stores and they did a much better job here. Plus, when i walked through the door, although they had been done for a while my dog was sitting there with them instead of locked up in a cage to small for him like at the chain....AWESOME! I brought Echo, our standard poodle and Toy, our Chinese Crested Puff here and they got excellent haircuts! It was difficult finding an experienced groomer who is experienced to cut on the reverse which is how I wanted our Puff cut. Chanel did a fabulous cut on our Puff and on our standard poodle! I have been recommending them to other std poodle people and others since bringing my dogs here! I love this place. I took my dog in before Christmas and was able to get him washed, brushed, nails clipped, ears and teeth cleaned for a great place. The owner is friendly and very sweet to my dog. Today I have had the worst service ...... the groomer is totally awesome with dogs ..........,people not so good at all. I missed an appt cause I was in a car accident that totaled my car put me in the hospital ....... now I called and cancel the app while in the hospital........ but was told shit happens and if I miss another appt that was it ( I only have cancel that one appt) I let her go off on me cause she is good at what she does. I was planning on letting her know dont talk to me like that when I picked the dogs up but no I walk in she attacks me asking did I call you u dealing with your aggressive ad dog ( which Beaver is ) and I messed up her grove......... then continues t talked to me like I have a tail and I ain't shit so I tell her about it.......she didn't like it........ now I don't k ow it this is a black thing or she didn't like me thing but there is no excuse for the way I was treated and talked too.
