I followed my nail tech Marcella here recently when she relocated from another spa in Raleigh. The staff is very courteous and kind. I traveled almost 30 minutes from Northwest Raleigh for a Gel-X manicure and spa pedicure. My Gel-X service looks like my natural nails. Very durable. I have been receiving services from Marcella for over a year now. She is meticulous about her work and ensures that her clients are always treated like family. I scheduled my mom for a Gel mani- pedi service and she absolutely loved her experience with Holly. The customer service is impeccable. Gel full sets and fill ins with design and with out design for 2 years I have had 5 star experience each time however I only get my nail done with the tall quite man on the left side first chair and designs from left side last chair phoebe. It's perfectly done for me with the two people I let touch my nails. The vibe is good depending on who you get. Well.... I like this place but it really does depends on who does your nails and feet ... Some women that does your feet really make sure you have the full experience an other people really don't care as much .... When you find someone that you like or did your feet and nails amazing make sure you request them cause they like to just stick you with just anybody ..... Also Kevin is okay but he like to tell you what's best for you vs making listening to you .... Also he like to do things that is an up charge vs what you asked him to do ..... I was visiting from out of town and stopped to have my nails done. I wanted a full set, acrylic, white tips with a gel polish top coat. I was quoted a price and charged a different price at checkout. They argued that that was the price I was quoted. Also. 6 of my fingers are cut from filing, one quite badly. The acrylic is streaky and there are thicker mounds on some nails. I am including pictures. I am amazed that I was charged $50 for this and I feel even worse that I paid it instead of putting my foot down and refusing. read more

Never again - worst pedi ever! I went in to get a pedi and asked for someone who would be gentle with me. The lady didn't understand me, and asked if I wanted a wax. What??!! No. The lady who did my pedi was not gentle at all, in fact, she never spoke to me, no eye contact. She and the other 7 or 8 vietnamese people who worked there kept up a steady stream of gossip, completely ignoring me and the other English speaking customers in there. They spoke in Vietnamese the whole time, constantly, which was really rude. She snipped the edge of my toenail off and it bled a little bit and really hurt! When I said "Ouch!" and leaned down to touch the toe, she didn't even acknowledge me, just went right on chatting with her friends. I went in because I needed to relax and de-stress, and ended up feeling like I was on a production line, no more than a job to be done with little care or attention. I will never go back there. There are other places that will get my business in the future. read more

Customer service is lacking. As is respect and common courtesy. The staff and assigned nail technician were rude and unpleasant. Although, we each had an appointment, the boy assigned to my daughter kept screaming about his 11 am appointment. Kevin Rushed with her nails and when she expressed concern about the shape, became upset (throwing things about and huffing like a child). Kevin then proceeded to tell her he would not be able to complete her service because of his 11 am appointment even though she had a 10 am appointment with him ( this was at 10:10!). We were on time, actually early for our service. It seems not all customers are equally valued. The service provided to my daughter was disappointing and had we been white (as his 11 am appointment was) or perhaps Asian our experience may have been different. The front desk staff was equally rude and unapologetic for the awful and incomplete nail service. Terrible service and terrible experience. Neither of us will return nor do we recommend you waste your money here. read more

I went there for the first time a couple weeks ago and I will not go back! The woman that did my nails was rude! She told me the polish that I picked out was for young girls! What?? Seriously? She didn't say I was old but, she might as well had! If she hadn't already started taking my polish off, I would have left! And, I might add, it was a light pink color! Worst nail salon I've ever been to. Went in for a pedicure and manicure. I always get shellac gel polish for my manicure and the color I had chosen apparently was "old" and "no good" so they had me pick out another and she put the new color ON TOP of the "old, no good color". Then tells me this is how you're supposed to do gel manicures. We all know that's a lie. The end result is patchy and lumpy and it's the worst service I've ever received. Ended up paying for the whole service even though it was so horrible I didn't even want the paint on my nails anymore. One of the "owners" argued with me and told me to come back and she would redo it. If you're looking for a good nail salon, go to Paintbar. UPDATE: I just got the public records for the civil penalties assessed for this shop. Wow. Amazing they are still in business. Multiple offenses dating back to 2016~expired licenses, failure to display current inspection grade card, failure to clean and disinfect. They got 10 points off out of 10 points for failure to disinfect implements. The list goes on and on. Their score on 8/13/18 was 80 out of 100. You be the judge. read more

a bit of a legend before I start on them. Third time in that place and it went from ok to worst. First time it was ok, nothing that wowed me but also no red flags. Second time the lady took so so so long for pedicure. Then we she moved me to have my mani done, she said she couldn't do it 'cos she had another customer coming. I wasn't thrilled about it, but ok. Then 15 minutes of running to and from me, she came back and said she can finish with me. Dip mani took her even longer and she cut me twice. Happens, but she kept apologizing until the mani was done and since the cutting happened almost at the beginning of the mani, that was a lot of apologizing. I was tied of comforting her. But at least she cared, not how it was this time. This time I again had pedicure and dip manicure. The lady who did the pedicure got me choose the color, the palette said dip duo, but as it later turned out it wasn't. So after my pedicure I had to try and find a matching color for the dip mani. Pedicure was done horribly by the way. The polish was all around my toes. That I could do myself. But the "fun" part started with the dip manicure. The old color I had was black. Yes, I know it's harder to remove than if it was pale pink, but... they are supposed to be professionals. The lady who did the mani, left the black residue all over my fingers and nails. She said "later", I thought ok. But when the mani with the new color was done, she poured the oil and sent me away to wash it off. Needless to say nothing washed off. I came back. And then for very long 15 minutes she tried to wash it off with acetone. She couldn't pour a lot of acetone 'cos the mani was already done. Why she didn't do it in the first place before applying the new color is a mystery to me. Anywho, I stopped her 'cos it was enough of rubbing for me. So I went home with still bits of old nail polish and the new polish all around my nails. Now, for almost $100 bucks I want not just good service (that was it should always be by the way), no, no, I want excellent service. Oh and you know how they text you a link to the survey after the visit, something like "We want to know how we did"... Well, I gave my feedback, thought I'd give them a chance to get back to me and at least apologize. And no, nobody ever got back to me. Hence this very wordy review here. Summary - this sort of attitude it's extremely disrespectful to customers. Very, very bad! And they charge all that money! it's crazy! Shame on them! read more

I don't even know where to start. I paid for a pedicure and it took less than 15 minutes for gel nails. It should have at least have taken 30 minutes for the whole manicure part and another 25 for the Gel. I had a young boy who kept having to look at a sheet because he didn't know what he was doing. Not to mention the smell of this place. It was so stinky I kept having to hold my breath. The day after I got my nails done almost all of my nails were already chipped. The salon is dirty. The staff is not friendly. I asked for a gel full set with French, he started with pink and white acrylic. I mean why fill out the card if they are not going to look at it. At one point I actually asked him to just stop and remove the awful mess (they were glued on crooked) and he told me no " they look better". As the manicurist removed my nail, he broke the skin of my real nail causing it to bleed. I wanted to speak with the owner about my concerns. I was not pleased with the service that I received here! The guy that was to provide my service was very rude. Him and the guy working next to him. I chose a color of f of the nail ring and when he went to paint my nails it looked like a totally different color. I asked him if I could pick another color and he told me to "go get it myself". Waited over an hour to have someone bring me to a chair, waited in the chair for 15 minutes while the lady checked out other people, the chair was not cleaned from the previous guest before I was sat, and then after an hour and 45 minutes, the lady has the audacity to ask me to move and wait a minute while she fixes someone else's broken nail who had just walked in. I went to this salon last Thursday because it was near where I was shopping. I paid $45 for my nails. By Sunday I had 4 chipped nails. Two smaller but obvious chips and two larger chips. It was all the gel polish, not the actual nails that were chipped. They looked terrible so I went in Tuesday (yesterday) on my day off. The guy was fairly defensive and just kept making "jokes" about why in the world I would want this or that or a silver snowflake. I could tell it was passive aggressive. Two ladies in the salon noticed also and they said "get what you paid for, don't be afraid to ask". So I did. Another lady came in before I left with the same problem. Then within hours of getting them done. I had two more chip last night. I am not rough on my nails. If I was, I wouldn't leave this review. I was opening an envelope. So I had to go back yet again today which I HATED, because Wendy, the manager was not nice. She was defensive too. No apologies to me, they just made me feel like somehow I did something to annoy them, so I told her I was going to leave a yelp review. It's good until it's not!!! Save your time and go elsewhere where your hard earned money is deserved and respected. This visit was very disappointing and I will not return. I arrived at 5:50 for a pedicure, fill in, and my eyebrows. I also wanted my daughter's toes painted with regular polish. Upon arriving I spoke with the manager and everyone that I requested was not working today with the exception of Vy. Prior to starting I told the manager that if the issue is time then I can wait on getting my feet done, but I needed my nails done because I was missing 3. She seemed as if time was an issue so I said I'll get everything except my feet and filled out the form accordingly. She went out of her way to ask which pedicure do I want and I asked again do you have time and she said yes. She had the nerve to tell me after I got everything except my nails done that I had to come back because no one wants to stay to do them. She told me this at 6:45! She intentionally did things that way to still get my money knowing that she had no one to do my nails. This is terrible customer service and she was too selfish over a dollar to allow my full business to go elsewhere. I called Wynn and got my nails done there and matched the polish as close as possible. I did tip Vy however I won't return because this was piss poor service. There was no misunderstanding of what I wanted because I asked too many times and was answered. You just don't do things like this to customers and on top of that those that tip. I spend $80 plus dollars not including my tips every 2 weeks on my service and that will no longer go here unless this is rectified. You should have the decency to say I can't accommodate you upfront and allow me to take my business elsewhere! read more

This nail salon is awful. I walked in around 6 to get a pedicure not aware of the time they closed, and they took me right away. As the woman was finishing up she looked at me and let me know that they've been closed and that I should've come earlier. I told her that I would've gladly left if they had spoke up but no, they took me because I was giving them business. Not only did I not appreciate the guilt trip that U was paying for but the ladies at this salon are just simply rude. Not that english is necessary to anyone's success, but the only instructions you're given during your service are grunts and direction of their hands, and they get frustrated when you don't comprehend them. So frustrating to go to this nail salon and not worth the money at all. I suggest Wakefield nails where the people are POLITE, friendly and make sure you understand them to the best of YOUR ability. read more

It was my first time going to this salon today, I took my mother along with me, And today is a Sunday. We got there about 1 o'clock in the afternoon and it was absolutely packed and they have only been up an hour. The two very young girls at the front desk don't look a day over 16 and they didn't know how long the wait was when I asked, I guess the manager came over and told us it would only be about five minutes and insisted we filled out a form. We were serviced pretty much right away. my nail tech was really good she did great with my pedicure and it was very relaxing, however the nail tech that did my mothers pedicure was very rough as she has sensitive feet. One of her feet came out baby smooth and the other one still has a lot of very dry skin. only problem that I had was the two teenage girls were very rude to the other workers that were there, that are probably 3 times their age. One of the girls asked one of the older technicians to pour her two glasses of wine for a guest, once the older lady declined (as she looked extremely busy) the young teenager poured her own glasses of wine and complained that it was not her job to pour wine as it was her job to be at the front desk. However idk why she was pouring wine and is clearly not at the age limit to serve alcohol, my biggest concern was that she was very rude to her co workers. She had a very terrible attitude. And I didn't think you could work at a salon under the age of 18. The only reason I give it three stars because the technicians were very fast and efficient I was in and out in under half an hour. I've been in search of a really nice clean nail salon for months. Unfortunately, after visiting this location, I'll keep shopping. To start with, the lady who checked me in at the front desk was not friendly...AT ALL! She ask me what type of pedicure I wanted. Because I had never been there before, I said I'm not sure. Instead of her explaining the different types of pedicures they offered, she told me to just check basic pedicure. Mind you, it wasn't busy. Not like she was doing anything. All I want is a place that uses clean equipment and great customer services. This place looks really pretty. But the lady who did my pedicure used equipment that didn't look like it had been cleaned. She came from the back with everything on a tray. Not sure if it came from the sterile cabinet. She also wore gloves that had holes, not sure what purpose that served. The only problem was if she wasn't there it seems I was charged a few dollars more for the same service, not once, but twice! I was just getting shelac polish with a design.
