I called at 8:30am and the technician was at our house fixing our washing machine just 2 hours later. Far better than the 2 week wait from Sears! Service appointment was $89.95 but waived with the $300 repair (for a replacement motor). I'm running the risk of sounding totally redundant, but my experience with A+ Appliance Repair this morning, (specifically Vladimir) was nothing short of stellar. He did, indeed, call 15 minutes prior to arrival, which I believe, is good business...He approached my LG washer/dryer combo which is about 2 yrs. old, and asked "What's it doing?" (It had stopped in the middle of a large load, and didn't drain or spin, leaving a sopping mess). He went into a diagnostic function with the control panel that I didn't even know it had, and within fifteen seconds he was putting it through the paces.He then put his ear up to the door, and said "I don't hear the drain pump running...it's the drain pump", and pulled out a book of parts and pricing. After locating the right pump for my machine, he said "It'll be $300 for everything, and I have the part on my truck". Remembering that the girl in the office had remarked "There is an $85.00 service call charge to come out", I asked Vladimir,"300 dollars for everything?" to which he replied, "Everything." I said..."Let's do it..." He not only put in the new pump, but he fixed the wash selection knob (which had been knocked off by the movers who installed the machine originally), AND he made an adjustment to the seal around the door! 300 bucks. The guy is amazing. Most important thing of all, he obviously takes pride in his work; a pro through and through. From start to finish, he was here about 45 minutes. Besides, he spared me from calling my doctor, and asking for a prescription for anti-depressants. (The machine had been down a week prior to Vladimir's fix; I had already undergone a trip to the all-night laundomat, and things looked bleak). Very Trustworthy!!! I am always skeptical dealing with mechanics and yes even an Appliance Repair shop. Andre from A Plus Appliances came over to look at my broken dishwasher. On the first visit I paid the $ for the visit and he said he would need to come back the next day with additional parts. The refrigerator is dead. D.E.A.D. I'm not surprised because I've had it since 1995,and the gentleman named Vladimir, said the average life is 15 years. I'm disappointed but not in the consultation from A Plus Appliances. I chose this company on the recommendation of all the good reviews on Yelp, and I would agree that the service is very good. He came in and he seriously went to work. So the compressor is broken after living since 1995. So the charge was just what the person who made the appointment said it would be just for the consult. Highly ethical and knowledgeable service. Our dryer is emitting a "burnt" smell. I called A Plus to have them check it out. Their technician Gregory showed up on time. It took him a few minutes to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the machine but I needed to clear the dryer vents. He checked out the vents and made some recommendations to convey to the vent cleaner when they come. He didn't charge me for the visit even when I tried to pay him at least $25 for his time. He explained patiently that they have no physical store, that they only have a mailing address in Corte Madera, and that they only do home visits to repair major appliances. Unfortunately, they do not do microwave repairs. He immediately gave me the name and phone number of a store in SF (not far at all) that repairs microwaves, and told me that I can drop off my microwave. I was rushing to get to work, so I was speaking quickly to him, and I noticed how he always maintained a calm, polite, professional, efficient, and helpful manner. Kudos to this business! He showed up on time after a 15-minute courtesy call to alert me that he was on his way. He fixed the problem in less than 5 minutes. I was given a two hour window for the same day. Vladimir called when he was 30 minutes away. He arrived promptly at the start of the window. He diagnosed the problem as a bad drain pump. But, after my husband and I agreed to the price to replace the pump (which he said he thought he had in his truck) he discovered it was just a clogged filter.
