A+ Appliance Repair of Oceanside, NOT to be confused with a company with the same name from Riverside, was outstanding. We received great customer service from beginning to end. At the office, a lovely lady gave us the earliest possible appointment, very efficient, respectful and congenial. She sent us their best expert a delightful gentleman by the name of Tom who immediately got to work and replaced a broken pump. Tom was generous with his time in that he also educated us as to the best dishwasher cleaning products to use for our particular machine. We will definitely be using A+ Appliance Repair of Oceanside for all of our future appliance repair needs. We will most definitely let our home warranty company know how very pleased we were with A+ of Oceanside who unfortunately has been confused with the company in Riverside and has erroneously received some of their negative comments. My cleaning lady cleaned my stove top and the pilot wouldn't stop making the clicking noise. It sounded like the pilot was constantly trying to light. Of course I thought we were going to blow up from a Gas leak. Thankfully i was working remote and immediately called A+ Appliance. We used A+ a few years ago and same as before, Greg answered my call and said he was in the next town over and was at my house in 30 mins. Thankfully it was a quick fix, but while he was here he took a look at my other pilots and did a bit of cleaning. Great work and he's a great guy ! Extremely knowledgeable on all make and models of stoves and refrigerators. The cost for repairs and how quickly he came out to fix was great ! Under an appliance insurance policy, A-plus visited and made a guess at what was wrong with my refrigerator. For nearly 3 weeks proceeded to give excuses about parts availability and supposed interference of manufacturer's warranty on a 7 year old fridge. I tried to contact them repeatedly and they avoid my calls, or gave me excuses of waiting for a part, or of not being able to get the part. On the 4th week the insurance gave the job to another service company . They took the fridge apart disconnected evaporator and the compressor and then started with the can't get part excuses. The insurance paid to replace the refrigerator after 5 weeks without a means for me to store food. read more

Sharon and Tom have been my family's go-to appliance repair since before I was born. Even when we're totally stumped, we always say, "call Tom, Tom can fix ANYTHING!" There is no question, no competition; when I have a question or a repair to be made, it's only A Plus. Sharon and Tom are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet and they genuinely care about their clients. They won't nickel-and-dime you, and they run an honest family business. Recently my range had the strangest problem where the igniters wouldn't stop clicking. Tom has been in this business forever and even he was stumped! The part was discontinued, and nothing that he tried even after taking apart the whole range was working. But he loves his job and takes pride in fixing what others cannot, and found a part out of his own pieces that worked! My range is fully functional. Had I called some bigger company, they would've slapped me with a big bill saying "we don't know" and told me to buy a new range. But Tom can fix literally anything! He's fixed countless things for both of my parents. And both Tom and Sharon are just such a joy to chat with. I don't hope that any of my appliances break soon, but if they do, I'm looking forward to catching up with them soon! My family loves A Plus and surely anyone else would too. read more

My home warranty assigned my dishwasher repair issue to APlus. I read the reviews and saw a mixed bag of satisfied and not so satisfied customers. I tried to defer the work to another vendor, but my warranty company said they don't defer based on Yelp or Google reviews. Well, here's the scoop. I got a call from Sharon confirming the work order. She was very nice, polite and professional. The appointment was set for 2 days out. Tom (Sharons husband) arrived within the anticipated time frame, assessed the issue and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. First of all, this company is a contractor for American Home Shield. AHS is a problem in itself, and I am going to cancel them, as you have to go through their bullshit to get something repaired. Not worth the hassle. Now with A Plus Appliance Repair. You can never reach them. The mailbox is always full, but when AHS calls them, they answer every time. The problem I have with A Plus is their communication, as it's difficult to schedule a repair or ask a question. The last appointment with A Plus, the tech said my fridge was dead and he would be filing a report to AHS, which he never did, and I have been waiting. Now, AHS said I have to schedule a return visit to say that the fridge is not working and it needs to be replaced. Every time I talk to AHS, they make it hard to do anything. So now I am waiting for A Plus to answer me to schedule a return visit to diagnose the problem again, I am waiting. read more

The most pleasant Appliance Repair visit I have ever had! Sharon set the tone for a great experience and Tom was a great complement to her wonderful-ness. My 3 year old grandson asked Tom endless questions and Tom even showed him a neat trick with his flashlight. My grandson was on cloud 9! The appliance repair was completed the same day. Friendly technician who seemed really knowledgeable. They were hired by Old Republic Home Warranty. After paying the call fee, they told the Home Warranty to not cover my fridge because the door was "bent" and it was my fault (even though I hadn't moved in). Called another appliance shop who gave me the correct diagnosis (the hinge had rusted) and instructions on how to fix it myself, which resolved my issue. read more

"A Plus Appliance" was selected by AHS our Home Ins company to provide a second opinion on our refrigerator ice maker leaking problem. This people were supposed to contact us but they never did. They told the insurance company twice they tried to contact us but were not able to do it. That was certainly a lie. They never did. I tried to call them several times to no avail. I was never able to talk to them because the voicemail was always full and it would take any messages. I would never use or recommend this company. About AHS insurance company, it is another worthless company. You can never talk to any supervisor or higher rank person. When you call you only get to talk to these representatives based in Vietnam who hardly speak English. I keep telling them over and over again the contractor they assigned was not working and to assign somebody else, but they would't do it. This went on for almost 3 weeks until finally they assigned some other contractor who contacted me and made an appointment to come next week on Monday. We will see how that goes, stay tuned! If I could give zero stars I would! I had a home warranty claim from the purchase of a newer home. The microwave was 6 months old and went bad. Tom came out and reported back to the warranty company that I misused the microwave, therefore the warranty company wouldn't cover a replacement. This dude is a scam and only wants the service fee. I saw all of the bad reviews and if I was paying for it out my own pocket, which ultimately I will have to thanks to Tom, I would have looked elsewhere. I called and called to find out status, then after two months finally was able to speak to their manager.....who then lied to me. My Fidelity National Home Warranty recommended that I call A-Plus Appliance to repair my 80 inch long GE Profile Refrigerator it was leaking and the door would not close Tom the contractor arrived as scheduled he worked diligently and found my problem he also inspected every inch of the refrigerator and found other problems that he repaired Tom did an incredible Job and I now have a beautiful Refrigerator that is finally working properly. A Plus Appliance Repair was selected as the service provider from Fidelity National Home Warranty. If you're looking for appliance repair, I highly recommend you go with someone else. If you have to use A Plus Appliance Repair because of your Home Warranty provider, then GOOD LUCK! Actually, just consider it a loss. A Plus Appliance received the work order from Fidelity National Home Warranty on 9/8/2020 and was out to my house within a week. The technician diagnosed the issue and required a new compressor be ordered and installed for my piece of crap fridge that's only been used for a year (Samsung Flex fridge). After constant follow up with A Plus to find out when the part would arrive, it took two weeks to receive the part. The installation took place on a Saturday. The following day, the fridge is still not cooling. Called the technician and he said he would be back out on Monday. Technician came out the following Monday, inspected the fridge again and identified a leak in the upper coils which isn't accessible or repairable. Followed up with Home Warranty days later and they inform me that A Plus Appliance reported the fridge as "Repaired". Called A Plus Appliance, they said they're waiting on paperwork/confirmation from Samsung to confirm the fridge isn't repairable. Wish you told me this sooner rather than losing a week assuming something was submitted. A week later, A Plus Appliance says they submitted the paperwork and to wait 5 days for Home Warranty to evaluate and provide options for replacement. A week goes by and Home Warranty still states they have NOT received anything from A Plus Appliance and that the work order has a status of repaired. More back and forth phone calls with no resolution. A Plus said they've submitted but Home Warranty said it was never received. It's been two months without a refrigerator and A Plus Appliance will not return my call which leaves me with a busted fridge. I would rather get a FUCK OFF from either company from the start so I can get a new fridge ordered out of pocket than to deal with both companies and have it drag out for two months. As of 11/4/2020, A Plus Appliance will not answer their phone, return voice messages, or respond to emails. A new fridge has already been ordered out of pocket. I'll update this review if I hear anything from A Plus Appliance Repair. But as of right now, my assumptions are they closed out the work order with Fidelity so they can get paid out even though the issue was never resolved. read more

Tom can fix anything! We have had several repair calls to other repair services and none of them could figure out the problem. Tom came in fixed the problem and continues to correct other issues not caught by the other repair companies. He fixed our microwave, oven and range hood. DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR AND IF YOUR HOME WARRANTY REFERRED YOU TO THEM, LET YOUR HOME WARRANTY KNOW THEY ARE THE SCAM OF THE EARTH AND DON'T SEND THEM. I had a faulty microwave so I called AHS Home Warranty. They assigned my service to A PLUS APPLIANCE LLC (951-888-5522) and the technician showed up. He looked at the microwave, and I tried to turn it on to show him the issue. The unit was a counter top. He didn't do anything, nada! Then he said that he will let AHS know that the microwave is not working and needs to be replaced. A day after, AHS noted that the service was completed. I called AHS and they said that they have to send another repair company because this vendor said the microwave was too heavy to lift. That was a lie. There was nothing for him to lift. Mind you, I am old and I can carry that Microwave with ease. But the point is he didn't even touch the microwave. It only took him less than 5 minutes and he left my place. Apparently, this vendor scams the customers by coming out and making fake reports to the home warranty like the appliance is too heavy or some story just to get the fee. I should have come here and look at how bad their reputation is. Long story short, the service was cancelled because I no longer trust that AHS does any due diligence on vendors that contract with them. They would not want to return the fee so I called my bank and dispute the charge and got my money back. I will let my bank deal with AHS and AHS with this vendor. Bottom line do not use this vendor. Find someone else and if your home warranty assigns them to your request, tell them that this is not a reputable vendor and you want a different one. Now if the home warranty is AHS, then you will have to gamble and take the risk. After this, I am seriously considering terminating my contract with AHS. Why I am not doing so immediately is because I already paid my plan for this month. So this seem to be a MO for this vendor and others as well to make money without doing work. They get their money from the home warranty just because they show up at your door. And then they file a fake report to the home warranty. Easy $80 - $125 dollars for them. read more

Complete Waste of Time and Money "condescending and patronizing" was a great way to explain how the 'tech' was at my appointment as well as the review below. It seems to me this company clearly wants to please the Home Warranty Insurance company over the residential customer, because it's their bread and butter. He did everything to avoid replacing any parts at all or recommend replacing any appliance. The 'Senior Tech' had an answer to explain away every problem as either User Error or Installer Error. (I used the wrong soap, I had the fridge temp set wrong etc, etc.) They earned this review easily and I will use another company next time when I have a choice. STAY AWAY!!! There is NO coincidence that the ratings are low and too much competition to use a service such as this. They blew 2 chances to get it right, and now I am stuck not only paying for their crap and borderline fraudulent service, but now I have to get a second opinion of an issue they reported to me as very common. Read the other reviews - they straight up LIE to get paid and move on to the next victim. If possible to give negative stars, I would for the following reasons: 1. To start, I reported an intermittent issue that was occurring multiple times over the past few days. I was scheduled a week out, in a 4 hour window - middle of day and showed up late without any courtesy call, so this didn't start off well. 2. Upon arrival, they spent 5 minutes in my home and provided an incomplete report to my insurance of the problem. Though they discussed with us that the issue was a very common problem with our model, they made no report of evidence of the problem or evidence of the problem. 3. Upon call back when appliance was in complete failure (just weeks after they reported no problem existed), they then made a second false report to my insurance carrier stating this time that I had caused the problem to occur, however in conversation stated to me (again) it is a well known issue with this model/brand of appliance to have the exact issue I reported. 4. I called to ask why they made this claim - The approach was rude, disrespectful and outright condescending: I was talked over in a raised voice, not allowed to ask questions and then hung up on - WOW! SERIOUSLY not the right way to treat customers. 5. When I called back a second time I was put on hold for an indefinite amount of time. 6. Upon 3rd call back I was told they've done everything perfectly and I am to blame, so you can see how well they think of themselves and how they feel about their customers... read more

My LG fridge compressor died overnight on 05/08/20.. called LG directly following a visit from Greg w/A Plus.. spent the better part of every day on the phone w/LG trying to get the repair under warranty.. LG finally admitted on 05/27 that they wouldn't honor the warranty.. Immediately got back in touch w/Sharon @ A Plus. Fridge was finally repaired on 06/10!! Had to wait on parts delivery during this pandemic.. but the time wasted dealing w/LG, 2weeks!! A Plus was refreshing! Sharon was very communicative, gave me updates as things progressed. Greg was professional, arrived in mask. Kept things tidy & was as efficient as possible. Definitely going to keep A Plus in my Rolodex! But I'll never buy another LG fridge! read more

RIP-OFF ALERT! I called my home warranty insurance company. They send out A+ appliance or as I call them "F- Appliance." They came out, collected my $ervice fee and TOM tells me they're "going to order the parts immediately and return in about a week to repair my appliance." (By the way, I have fallen for this tactic three times!). Then, week after week after week after month after month after month, my appliances sits there broken as SHARON, the one in charge, tells me that the parts have not come in and she cannot tell me when they will come in. I *dared to inquire* whether there was a tracking number or order # issued and if the appliance company can give her an approximate estimate on when the parts might be delivered. She became extremely irritated , vitriolic, hostile and irate at my persistence for querying her! My other big mistake was explaining to her how much of an inconvenience and detriment not having (insert appliance name here) is causing in my life; she then berated and lectured me on how her employees lived for years -with children- without a (insert appliance) and had to manually wash dishes, travel to the laundromat, or cook dinner on a single hot plate and how I was "merely" being inconvenienced for a few months. After 3-4 months of waiting, and thus, becoming increasingly agitated, I requested that my home warranty insurance company intervene in this debacle. At that point, the part 'miraculously' appeared and they finally come out to "repair" said appliance. Sadly, that wasn't the end! Even after all this ludicrousness and TOM and another guy finally showed up to "complete the job", they did incredibly sloppy work. Further, I had to call to get my appliances fixed after their "fix", - 2x! My home warranty agreed WITH ME that waiting three to four months for an appliance repair is very unreasonable! My home warranty company uses this company to do warranty work for them. They were here on 10-7-21 to inspect two appliances for repair. Called on 11-24, was told parts were ordered. Called on 12-1 left VM. Called on 12-7, was told one more part needed. Should be in by the end of the week. They will call be to set up an appointment. Called on 1-5-22, left VM. Ran into an issue w/ my refrigerator and called my home warranty company who contracted the work out to A Plus. I called and got a same day appointment but was initially disappointed when i was told it might be a few days until the part arrived. To my surprise, i got a call the very next day that the part was in and they'd be returning to the house to make the repair. Next thing i know, its all fixed and i could not possibly be happier. The technician was great, Sharon was super cool and helpful (and empathetic) and it all ran better than I could have imagined. Just had a good experience with A Plus Appliance Repair. We had an issue with our ice maker and they came out and handled the repair quickly. However the fridge was turned off during the repair and not turned back on. The next day we realized the fridge was not on and the Freezer contents were above 40 degrees and thawed. I called with my problem and the owner listened to me, asked me what was lost and replaced the contents. A+ for A Plus. Thank You. Awesome customer service. read more

Avoid at all cost. You are better off with no service than this company. Caused a leak first time they came out. Then two days in a row promised to come out, no one showed up after waiting home all day both days. Helpfully suggested towels... Does not call back when promising to do so, hangs up the phone when you try to complain and so on - you get the idea. We didn't have a choice as the company was referred by home warranty, but in the future will go somewhere else rather than have A Plus cause more damage and ignore requests for help. read more

This is the most horrible appliance repair I have ever seen. They were sent out by AHS to fix my washer almost a month ago. My washer is doing the same thing that it was doing before the drain pump was replaced, only worse. The technician pulled my washer forward and bent the door on my machine. If there was a lower rating option, I would have given it to this company. Extremely unprofessional, unresponsive, no follow up AND lie after lie! There was a problem with my washing machine. Options were either to repair or replace. After two months waiting and being lied to, I called the insurance company and learned that they never send the paperwork to them for a decision. During all this time I only talked with Sharon (who is co-owner. It wasn't an employee who wasn't trained or,...... ). There was never a follow up call. Please do not EVER use this company. My home warranty sent this company to me to fix a microwave. The tech came and said I needed the board replaced and that it will take a couple of days up to a week for it to arrive. Instead, I waited months for it. They blamed Christmas, then New Years, then Chinese New Years, and then COVID-19. But that's not even the worst part. So finally when the part finally came in, I scheduled for the repair. The morning of the repair, I called in to confirm if they were still coming, and the lady told me that it turns out the part that got sent was broken. (Interesting how they didn't call to tell me this.) So then I waited for another month or so for the part again. When it arrived, I again scheduled for the repairs. 4 no shows! First one, she claimed the tech had a car accident. Then the 2nd one, she claimed the tech just didnt show up, and she fired him after. 3rd one, she claimed they got busy, 4th time, no explanation at all. So in total, after 8 months and flaking on the appointments 5 times, my microwave was still not fixed. Also during this whole time, they would be really impossible to reach. Leaving voicemails won't do anything, because they will never call you back. In fact, not once did I get a callback despite asking for updates (like when the part arrived etc). I feel like i was beyond patient with them and keep accepting their excuses. Just for reference, I finally got fed up and called the home warranty and asked for a new repair company. C&P Repair came out and after a few weeks (waiting for the part again), the microwave is now working. I wished I had complained about A Plus Appliance MONTHS ago. This is a -5 star company! read more
