Three Dog Ranch - Nala

Three Dog Ranch

We had never boarded our dogs before, so I was very apprehensive, but after reading several positive reviews, decided to make a reservation with Three Dog Ranch. We have two large great Pyrenees mixes so I requested that they be boarded in their own double bunkhouse. The staff were very kind and attentive and took the time to get to know our dogs and their unique personalities. I was able to enjoy the concert with my husband and when we picked our dogs up the following morning, they seemed happy and healthy. They did not appear distressed, and I am assuming they had a wonderful sleepover full of excitement because they slept hard the next day. Thank you Three Dog Ranch for taking such good care of my fur babies and allowing my husband and I to have a good time at the concert.

This was our first time using Three Dog Ranch, and also our dog's first time boarding. I feel…read morefortunate that he didn't have any injuries or accidents requiring a vet visit for now. I do believe their staff work to keep the dogs safe. However, when we picked up our dog, his whole body still smelled strongly of urine, and parts of him were still not dry. I could even see his paw prints in it. We dropped him off clean, so it's concerning to think he might have been sitting in urine during the days of boarding. Another issue was their internal communication. We arranged via email with Steph to drop off medication that needed to be given the morning after our pickup day (my email was titled "Aug. 11 for our dog"). But when we picked him up, a staff member at the Whitefish location said he read "Aug. 14" on the note and didn't administer the medication. They never called or checked with us to clarify. While these may seem like small details, I had higher expectations before choosing this place. I wouldn't say they neglected the dogs, but there are definitely areas--like communication and cleanliness--that could be improved.

When we picked the dogs up, all five were let out at once, none of them leashed. Utter chaos. On the drive home, the smell was horrible. The three dogs in one kennel, smelled of urine and diarrhea with something matted in their fur. They had to be bathed before allowed in the house. We will definitely not use this place again.

Well, I called to inquire about availability & they were the only ones with space (maybe this is why) within the area. So I asked if they are able to give insulin like other facilities and she said yes but she's on a backpacking trip and her dad is doing the boarding for the weekend and she doesn't really like when he has to do that so maybe call a different kennel and if you can't find one then call me back ( not professional ) I said I couldn't find any other one with space. So she said well bring it in and show him and by this point she seemed annoyed by my questions and wanted me off the phone when I'm just trying to make sure my older diabetic husky is going to be well cared for (& obviously my youngest as well) I could just tell she was very annoyed but I didn't have a choice if I wanted to save the trip as planned. The more I thought about it though after booking- my feelings got more and more worried and I messaged her and said I'm going to change the plans to next weekend and I just want to cancel. In fact, when I texted I think I will actually go forth with rescheduling my trip because you don't like bothering your dad with any extra steps and it's made me worry too much about Nya, would it be okay to cancel and get a refund? Her response was : Sure!!! Yes I got my refund, but then she informs me she's going on another trip next weekend too so her dad is still running it. Definitely seemed as though she's ensuring I won't try to use her business because giving insulin to a dog who literally doesn't feel it and takes a whole ten seconds to complete is too complicated or inconvenient even when you're being paid $50 a day! My intuition was sending me red sirens and I couldn't ignore that. These are my babies and I feel you should provide assurance to the owners that they are in capable hands rather than rush them off the phone and tell me to only use them if I couldn't go somewhere else as a last resort so her dad doesn't have to deal with it. Take this however: I never used this kennel and Erin (& her dad) may be great, especially with zero "add on" pets, but as a mom you know when something isn't quite right and I feel I made the best decision for my babies.

Our little Aussie, Ellie has never come home from an overnight stay as relaxed as she was when we left her for two nights so we could enjoy Glacier National Park. Mixed bag and inconsistency with boarding care. I started taking my cat here in July of 2025…read more Nikki, the new owner is polite, professional, listens to your needs, and treats the animals well. However, on one occasion I felt very uncomfortable with how the other staff member, Ellie, provided a directive that my dog should be trained better and that she herself could provide that training. I found this to be an overstep of boundaries and extremely unacceptable, as my dog was not planning to board there on this occasion. My dog was in the back of my truck on this occasion last summer and had jumped out due to being anxious before being dropped off at a different boarding facility close by that has recently been bought out by the Airport. Just recently, I chose to board both of my animals here at Lost Creek Kennels. I felt part of my detailed and written care instructions were not followed, specifically for my dog who has medications that keep her calm while she stays in new locations and is away from me. I was told that my cat and dog would be provided bonding time together during their stay. To my knowledge, this did not occur. Plus, my pick up time was sooner than the date expected due to travel plan changes. I always feel very rushed and disregarded whenever the staff member Ellie is working upon my drop offs for my cat. This time on the drop off 02/20/2026 was probably the worst yet. It was like she wouldn't even listen to my instructions. Things needed to be done "her way." My pets only stayed two nights. I sent a text message I was planning to collect my animals by 7:30pm on 02/22/26. The response I received was that it was preferred I be there prior to 7:30pm, as that was the time staff member Ellie planned to lock up and leave for the night. I questioned the pick up policy of the facility, given I was told Sundays the pick up slot is from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Why would the staff not be compassionate or even a bit lenient had I been past 7:30pm given travel circumstances, even for an earlier pick up time? For the record, I arrived to the facility shortly before 7:00pm. I was shocked to discover the demeanor of my cat upon my greeting was not normal, as she cowered and would not come to me, which is unusual given even one day out my presence, her immediate response is to seek affection. My dog also did not receive her proper PRN medications, as the same amount that was brought to the facility upon drop off was still the same amount in her pill containers. I held onto my payment check, and will be following up with the owner regarding the negligences noted and reasonable suspicion, plus confirmed med count for my dog's PRN medication, that the other staff, did not provide adequate care for the boarding of both of my pets. We went to PBR Kennels with Linda and Kat for years. I miss them and wish the airport had not bought them out for the property as of February 1sr, 2026, as we never had any issues when my animals stayed there. As soon as I got my pets home, I fed them both. They both were very hungry and eager for my attention once settled. Never again will my animals be boarded at Lost Creek Kennels. Steer clear.
