My husband and I took a road trip to Glacier National Park with our dog Sasha. We had her with us for most of our trip but we also wanted to do a day of hiking in the park, and as dogs are not allowed on the trails in the National Park we started to look for options. So glad I found Glacier Bark Kennels! Erin was super fast in responding to my email and getting Sasha set up for day boarding so we could have our hiking day. Drop off time was nice and early so we could get an early start for our hike and we were able to pick her up later that evening. Sasha was well taken care off and we were able to enjoy our day worry free! And the price was super reasonable! Highly recommend! read more

I had car trouble so I wasn't able to go home to Shelby to drop my dogs off at their vet/boarding for the weekend as planned, so it left me scrambling to find a place over here so we could continue our celebration of our daughter's birthday. Well, I called to inquire about availability & they were the only ones with space (maybe this is why) within the area. So I asked if they are able to give insulin like other facilities and she said yes but she's on a backpacking trip and her dad is doing the boarding for the weekend and she doesn't really like when he has to do that so maybe call a different kennel and if you can't find one then call me back ( not professional ) I said I couldn't find any other one with space. So she said well bring it in and show him and by this point she seemed annoyed by my questions and wanted me off the phone when I'm just trying to make sure my older diabetic husky is going to be well cared for (& obviously my youngest as well) I could just tell she was very annoyed but I didn't have a choice if I wanted to save the trip as planned. The more I thought about it though after booking- my feelings got more and more worried and I messaged her and said I'm going to change the plans to next weekend and I just want to cancel. In fact, when I texted I think I will actually go forth with rescheduling my trip because you don't like bothering your dad with any extra steps and it's made me worry too much about Nya, would it be okay to cancel and get a refund? Her response was : Sure!!! Yes I got my refund, but then she informs me she's going on another trip next weekend too so her dad is still running it. Definitely seemed as though she's ensuring I won't try to use her business because giving insulin to a dog who literally doesn't feel it and takes a whole ten seconds to complete is too complicated or inconvenient even when you're being paid $50 a day! My intuition was sending me red sirens and I couldn't ignore that. These are my babies and I feel you should provide assurance to the owners that they are in capable hands rather than rush them off the phone and tell me to only use them if I couldn't go somewhere else as a last resort so her dad doesn't have to deal with it. Take this however: I never used this kennel and Erin (& her dad) may be great, especially with zero "add on" pets, but as a mom you know when something isn't quite right and I feel I made the best decision for my babies. read more

Glacier Bark Kennels - Correspondence with Erin. The end is just me saying thank you & confirming the cancellation. - Pet Boarding Near Me - Columbia Falls, Montana

We boarded a group of five dogs in two kennels. The person that greeted us rushed the dogs back, one slipped out of her collar and the collar was never put back on. When we picked the dogs up, all five were let out at once, none of them leashed. Utter chaos. On the drive home, the smell was horrible. The three dogs in one kennel, smelled of urine and diarrhea with something matted in their fur. They had to be bathed before allowed in the house. We will definitely not use this place again. read more

Good job cutting a very small dog. She seem happy. Just passing through the area but would use again if I lived here.

My husband and I were staying at West Glacier RV park with our dogs. We love our dogs and love having them with us, but we really wanted a day to do a fly fishing trip last minute. Erin responded quickly and the communication was great. She even made a very special arrangement to pick up our dogs in the morning in West Glacier, and deliver them back to us at our RV Park! Our boys came home very happy and content. read more

We were staying at an RV park in Columbia Falls with our friends. We each had a dog that we wanted boarded. We were able to take them to Glacer Park Kennels for the day. We took them there three times and they had the run of the place outdoors. They had a huge fenced area with shade trees. We were able to leave their food and beds and felt very secure with them there for the day. The owner was very nice and easy to deal with. We communicated mostly by text. We wouldn't hesitate to use this kennel again if we were in the area. Harley and Ralph were happy dogs ! read more

This is an excellent kennel in Columbia Falls on the way to Glacier Park. This clean kennel has several large, outside play areas separating dog sizes with attention to your dogs temperament. The inside kennel is clean with raised bedding areas. The concern for your dog's safety is obvious. We will definitely use Glacier Bark for years to come. read more

This is a great place for pet care when they need a home away from home. It is very clean and spacious. It is in a quiet area in glacier falls. Erin does most of the scheduling and animal care. She is a kind and caring pet care-taker. The prices are very reasonable and she worked within our needed schedule even though it was kind of short notice. She cared for our 30 year old parrot for 2 weeks. When we came to pick him up he was chatting and very happy with her. He clearly was not ready to leave her. I also saw her helping another customer with her 2 dogs. The dogs were happy to see their owner but kept running back and forth to her and then to the owner. She was very friendly with the pets and they liked her too. I would recommend this place for any and all pets. We will be happy to use Glacier bark in the future. read more

I am so disappointed in myself. This was my first experience booking through an online erbvice and I did now know the "right" questions that I should of asked before confirming. I did not realize that Erin was operating a boarding kennel business until we arrived by 7:30 am as requested. My three dogs went into one kennel. I did not realize that they would be unattended all day and not put out to play during their 9 1/2 hour stay. They did get a bowl of water but I did not see the beds and bed pads that she promises on her website. I also did not know that when I arrived at 2:30 pm that no one would be there to let me pick up my dogs. I had to wait until 5:00pm. This was never communicated to me by Erin, the owner. I went by the "other glowing reviews" without questioning them. That was my error. It was a very disappointing experience and a mistake that I will not repeat again. I do not recommend this business based on her lack of direct and honest communication. Dog sitting is highly competitive business and I wished i had down more homework read more

We had to make unexpected trip very quickly and needed a place to kennel our two Labradors. Like most pet owners, our dogs are cherished and since we could not take them with us on short notice, we were determined to find the very best for them. We are relatively new to this area, so we had no prior experience with local kennels. We reviewed all that we could find on Yelp and Google and visited a few with higher ratings. However none of them seemed good enough for our dogs. I was not looking for somewhere where they would be socialized with other dogs that I do not know without my being there (I didn't want to come back to find that my dogs had a bad experience with another unknown dog). I was about to give up when we decided to look at Glacier Bark even though it did not have many reviews. I am very glad we did. The kennels are clean and well maintained, the dogs are in close proximity to other dogs but are never placed in a pen or kennel with any other dogs that were not in their "family". Erin and her father were great both the dogs and with us. They asked about our dogs likes and dislikes. We have had to kennel before and our dogs have come home shaken by the experience, but not this time. They were happy and content and obviously had a good experience. We will be using Glacier Bark again and would highly recommend them to others. I fact, we already have. read more
