The owner gave us detailed information about how they could help us and they achieved 5-star service! Our tow truck driver, David was amazing! Very communicative through the whole experience. He connected with us directly after we called for a tow so that we didn't have to go back through the process of calling the AAA hotline and speaking to an agent to see if there where any updates on our situation. We lost our car key and the gear shift was electric so there was no way to put the car in neutral, without turning the car on. This complicated the processes of lifting and dropping off the car, but David took immense care to make sure that our car wasn't damaged in any way. My Experience with AAA is usually great, but this time it was outstanding. We were stuck in Big Bear lake CA with a bad tire situation. I was thinking because it was a small town and on a Friday that it would take at least an hour for help to arrive. But instead "Patrick Gonzalez" from "A performance Towing" called me on my cell phone within 10 minutes and arrived 5 minutes later. I know this obviously is not always the case but it was impressive nonetheless. We were parked in a bad spot on the road and as soon as "Patrick" arrived he maneuvered his tow truck the same way fire fighters do to keep traffic running smoothly but also provide maximum protection to the people they are attending too. ~Maybe this is standard protocol, but to me, it demonstrated a high level of intuitive skill and experience. It was clear Patrick knew what he was doing by making safety his 1st priority. Alex was also very friendly, cordial and extremely professional. He knew exactly how to fix our problem and get us back on the road again. It was a pleasure working with him. poor service thru AAA. was told it would take 45 minutes for a battery jump or replacement. called twice for time of arrival and dispatch said they would have technician call. after another 25 minute wait, technician calls and asks for a diagnosis of the car problem. isn't that their job? you need more services that address AAA issues and not limit it to one company as this one is just bad. Our minivan got stuck in the snow. Their dispatcher was very helpful finding us a tow truck driver near us quickly. Within an hour of our call, Kevin the driver arrived unfortunately the truck he was driving at that time cannot tow our van. At the end of the day A performance was able to help us out by sending another driver Timothy. Both drivers was friendly and very good customer service. Kevin the first one came by even called back and check in if we have been towed. I love how they are caring. I rate this business more than 5 stars if possible. Chris is the gosh darn man. Joe and "John the rookie" are also amazing. Chris went so far above and beyond the call of duty and I am forever grateful for the work he put in to get me and my wife safely home. He first got us out of the middle of the road and safely into his tow yard. He then attempted to help fix my jeep and spotted a more serious issue than we initially realized. There was going to be a several hour wait for the flatbed to return. In that time Chris made some calls and found a solution to my issue and immediately went to work to fix it. He busted his ass and put in a solid few hours of his personal time after his work shift to fix my jeep. The world needs more people like this man. I was completely humbled and beyond thankful. He seemed genuinely happy to be able to help. The other guys from the shop assisted Chris and made what was ultimately a crappy situation fun! We laughed and joked and swapped stories as Chris continued to dig into my engine bay and fix my power steering pump. If you EVER need a tow or recovery in the Big Bear area, these are THE GUYS! I was assured that even if we couldn't fix it they'd get me loaded on the flatbed and home safely no matter what. Seriously, what an amazing group of young men. If there was ever a place for your kid to break down, and not know what to do when dad is a four hour drive away, Big Bear's Snow Summit was it. Cory came to the rescue LITERALLY within two minutes. I called him, and he asked where my son was parked (my son with a dead cell phone no less) and Cory said "I'm two minutes away!" And even after he jump started the car, did my son (who now had his cell phone plugged in) call me to say "Hey dad, I'm OK?" NOPE! Cory called me right away to let me know that my son was on his way home....seriously! How many tow drivers do that??? I have pocketed Cory's phone number in my cell phone for any future trips to Big Bear, of which one of my kids is up there almost every couple of weeks. We were completely stranded at the bottom of Snow Summit after a day of fun on the mountain on our snowboards. What started off as a great way to start the New Year quickly turned into our worst nightmare. The transmission went out and being a holiday absolutely no shop in town was open. To make matters worse, there want a single room or cabin available for the night. AAA would only tow us 7miles but said it would probably be hours. Uber and Lyft wasn't available and there was only one cab company who said they were backed up for hours. After two hours of calling all around Big Bear for some kind of way out of this mess, I finally reached the owner of A Performance Towing, Cory. He already knew about our situation from AAA and was worried that we would have to sleep in our car overnight. He said that he would get the car to a reputable mechanic and find us a way to get home too!!! Within 30 minutes he showed up and went above and beyond just exceptional service. Without going into too much detail (Covid has made this world so political) he got our vehicle to the repair shop... actually called the owner of the repair shop on his personal phone to let him know what we were doing. Then proceeded to get my girlfriend, her daughter and me all the way home to Newport Beach. As we sit here at home and drink our morning coffee we still can't believe that we're not waking up shivering and cold in our car. A Performance Towing is more than a great business... the company is run by an owner that treats people like family. We feel like we were saved by a guardian angel last night and we HIGHLY recommend Cory and A Performance Towing to anyone in the Big Bear area that needs help.
