Joe and Marie of A Little Glass are THE BEST! I was worried about how long getting a repair would take, as it is hard to miss days at my job without getting behind. After explaining my time crunch to Marie this morning, she and Joe agreed to fit me in after-hours tonight! She was transparent about their pricing and the pros and cons of the different options I had and what she would recommend. As someone who doesn't know much about cars, I really appreciated that. I needed a quote to replace the hail-damaged windshield on my mom's Camry. I contacted that big well-known company that everyone's heard of. But they wanted me to make an appointment just to get a quote. In addition, they insisted on wiper blade replacement (which I don't need), rain-repellent treatment (which I can do myself with a bottle of Rain-X), and some very expensive "re-calibrating" of the sensors on my car that can only be performed in their shop. The experience left me angry. I felt they were finding ways to upsell me on everything under the sun, just so they could drain my wallet as much as possible. I finally managed to get a quote from them; a ridiculously expensive quote. Thanks, but no thanks. In doing further research, many sources report that sensor re-calibration is not needed in the vast majority of windshield replacements. There's also some question as to whether some glass shops actually perform the re-calibration at all, and simply pocket the additional charges for doing absolutely nothing. I called A Little Glass and spoke with Marie. She was very courteous. And she was happy to provide me with a very reasonable quote for a mobile windshield replacement, and without trying to upsell me on anything. On the day of my appointment, Joe showed up on time and was very friendly. He did a very professional job in just under an hour, and I was charged exactly what I was quoted. And guess what? Contacted this company to install a windshield in a 1962 Ford F100 pickup truck, one of the old style windshields that requires a large rubber seal be installed around the window before the install and then requires a rope to finish the install. It's not easy, my Son and I tried a couple days earlier and ended up breaking the windshield. Joe, the Technician, showed up and was on-time, professional and very knowledgeable. He set up his tools, started working with the seal and had it on in less than 5 minutes (it took my Son and I over an hour to ALMOST get it on).
