Needed a makeup artist last minute and reached out to A-List. Dantam was quick to respond and was very accommodating of my requests and schedule. Booking/communication was easy over email, which makes things less stressful. Dantam gave me proper instructions for skincare before coming in. She also asked for inspiration photos, but I didn't have much in mind. I sent her photos of my past makeup looks and of my dresses and she went off that. She had me come over to her house which was comfortable and less hectic than going to a salon at 7:45am. Makeup turned out beautiful and I loved this eyelid tape she did which I've never seen before. The least she could have done was to tell me she was booked, so I could move forward and look for someone else. A week passes and she responds to my 3rd email telling me she's booked. I had my hair and makeup trial with her a few weeks ago, and am SO excited for her to do my hair and makeup at my wedding. I had a HORRIBLE experience and left nearly in tears because the artist did not listen to me and was more concerned about going home for the day than accepting my feedback. The make up stayed put all day (despite happy tears!). I was particularly worried for my curls (I did a half-up/half-down with curls) but it stayed put all day and night long. Chau takes her time with you but is also very efficient. I felt like like she made me a better version of myself, glamorous but natural at the same time! *Phoung, her assistant, was also really awesome. Phoung worked on my 2 bridesmaids + mother-in-law(H+M/U), Grandma (hair only). Sometimes the assistant artists are not on-par with the main one, but I thought Phoung's work was excellent, as good as what Chau did with me and my Maid of Honor. I had Marilyn Nguyen do my hair and make-up for my wedding and she was absolutely AMAZING! I first worked with her when I was a bridesmaid for my sister's wedding and I was very impressed with the way she did my hair. So I knew without a doubt that I wanted her to do my hair and make-up for my wedding as well. I already knew she was good, but she seriously exceeded my expectations! I asked her to do a very natural make-up look for me and she did exactly that. A lot of times, even when I ask for a natural look, I still end up looking like a different person. But the way Marilyn did my make-up was so perfect. It was nicely done-up for wedding photos, but I still looked like myself. As for my hair, I wanted an up-do that had a loose and soft affect. Everytime I get my hair done for weddings, this is always what I ask for and except the previous time I had Marilyn, no one usually gets it quite right. But seriously, I LOVED the way Marilyn did my hair for my wedding. It was absolutely perfect and I couldn't stop staring at how good my hair looked. It wasn't anything super extravagant, but the details that she put in it was gorgeous. I never realized how important your hair and makeup artist plays a role in the day of your wedding until I booked LilyAnn and had her literally by my side right up until I left for my wedding venue. I believe she played a huge part in keeping me calm, collected and feeling so beautiful and confident before I left my room. She not only was my artist but also made me feel like a friend. Our interactions were very down to earth but she always maintained a very professional attitude and wanted to make sure I was happy and comfortable. Our trials prior to the wedding were very helpful and even the weeks leading up, I felt like she was always there for me and advising on any questions I may have had.
