Needed a makeup artist last minute and reached out to A-List. Dantam was quick to respond and was very accommodating of my requests and schedule. Booking/communication was easy over email, which makes things less stressful. Dantam gave me proper instructions for skincare before coming in. She also asked for inspiration photos, but I didn't have much in mind. I sent her photos of my past makeup looks and of my dresses and she went off that. She had me come over to her house which was comfortable and less hectic than going to a salon at 7:45am. Makeup turned out beautiful and I loved this eyelid tape she did which I've never seen before. For hair, I just wanted a very simple half up do. Dantam was kind enough to let me stay at her house after she was done so that I could change and get ready which made it so less stressful. The reason why I asked for more pictures in the first place was because my bridesmaids were skeptical of her work. The bridesmaids decided to book hair only with her, and once I told Kelly that, she stopped responding to my emails. I understand that she would rather make more money doing hair AND makeup for a bridal party. The least she could have done was to tell me she was booked, so I could move forward and look for someone else. A week passes and she responds to my 3rd email telling me she's booked. I had my hair and makeup trial with her a few weeks ago, and am SO excited for her to do my hair and makeup at my wedding. For context, I had previously booked a hair and makeup trial with another artist at another company, recommended to me by my wedding planner. I had a HORRIBLE experience and left nearly in tears because the artist did not listen to me and was more concerned about going home for the day than accepting my feedback. Luckily, I remembered Hanh, who had previously done an AMAZING job doing hair and makeup for a friend's wedding! Hanh is literally a life saver and I am so glad she's available to do mine! During the entire process, she checked in with me to get my thoughts and feedback, and I felt comfortable, beautiful, and in great hands the entire time. I set up a trial session and I just immediately fell in love with her personality, she was just so sweet and funny. Jessie felt like that long time girlfriend from high school you haven't seen lol! She just made me feel comfortable and we chatted a lot. She made the trial so easy, fun and comfortable but at the same time she kept checking and showing me the difference between what look I prefer on me since she will do half of your face different than the other to give u some choices and TRUST ME!! ITS A GOOD THING! SHE WILL EVEN OUT THE MAKE UP LATER ON ONCE YOU PICK THE LOOK YOU WANT!. As your big day gets closer, Jessie will keep in touch and confirm how many bridesmaid that needs make up and hair services and she will tell me how many of her assistants are coming. My wedding day finally comes and all her assistance were super nice and arrived on time. All my girls and my mom and aunt looked stunning! Jessie was ALL MINE of course! lol! She was still doing my make up and hair when all the other vendors arrived such as photographers and videographers and they started asking me questions of what I want them to do. Jessie felt I was getting stress and anxious so she immediately told them " guys, can I just have 30 minutes with my bride then you can have her". I felt so relieved that she did that because I was starting to feel nervous out of nowhere and we don't want no sweaty face bride and the make up isn't even done! lol! My wedding day was perfect! she gave me a touch up kit and I didn't even need to use it because my make up was legit from the moment the ceremony started thru the whole reception! **Review for Chau and Phoung** I highly recommend Chau as a hair/makeup artist! Chau did my hair and make up for my wedding in Burlingame on 10/31/15. The highlights: *Working with her was very easy. She communicates promptly and effectively. No surprises. She is also has an easy-going and fun personality, which is a huge plus on your wedding day when things can be stressful. She is a true professional and I immediately felt at ease that I was in good hands with whatever she would do. *I LOVED my hair and make up on my wedding - even better than my trial!!! The make up stayed put all day (despite happy tears!). I was particularly worried for my curls (I did a half-up/half-down with curls) but it stayed put all day and night long. I never realized how important your hair and makeup artist plays a role in the day of your wedding until I booked LilyAnn and had her literally by my side right up until I left for my wedding venue. I believe she played a huge part in keeping me calm, collected and feeling so beautiful and confident before I left my room. She not only was my artist but also made me feel like a friend. Our interactions were very down to earth but she always maintained a very professional attitude and wanted to make sure I was happy and comfortable.
