IF YOU ARE A PARENT CONSIDERING ENROLLING YOUR KID HERE PLEASE READ !!…read more I had to unenroll my daughter from this childcare facility on an emergency basis on 09/27/24. My daughter has been attending this facility since September 11th, 2023. Initially, everything was great - the teachers were nice and very understanding when I asked for daily updates on my daughter. I had some specific requests due to my daughter's severe eczema, such as applying lotion or cream and giving her albuterol if needed for exercise. However, over time, I noticed my daughter starting to have behavior reports, and I became concerned that she was being hit at school by a certain classmate. Whenever I raised this concern, it was discussed with her main teachers, but the response was always the same - everything was fine. Trusting that the daycare was handling the issue, I kept her enrolled. Recently, my daughter complained about a teacher, and when I expressed my concerns to the Director, I was told that the teacher was not with my daughter all day. However, I knew this wasn't true as I had seen the teacher in the room with my daughter when I picked her up the previous day. Since I made the report, my daughter started coming home more quietly and refused to talk about school. She even told me that she did not want to go to school, something she was always excited about. This was part of the reason I unenrolled her. The day before she was bitten badly by another student. When I asked to see the incident on the cameras, I was denied access. I understand there may be legal reasons for this, but as a concerned parent, I expected more transparency. Additionally, when I asked for the accident report, there was a long wait, and when I finally received it, it was not finished. The original report wrongly indicated that my daughter was the problem starter in the biting incident, which raised serious concerns about the school's safety and morals. I believe the facility needs to be thoroughly investigated. On 09/27/24, as we pulled into the school this day, my daughter asked me to pick her up and not put her down. This was very strange because she was usually excited to go to school. As we entered her classroom, she did not want me to put her down and clung to me. When I finally got her comfortable enough to sit down, she immediately noticed the student I had complained about and started whining and hiding as she was scared. I grabbed her things, explained the situation to the director, and asked to unenroll her immediately. I did not feel safe leaving her at the facility anymore. The director, Jackie, seemed very upset when I asked for all her records. When she handed me all my daughter's records, she made sure to let me know that "there were behavior reports in there as well". If you are considering this center, please be cautious! My son started in the one-year-old classroom, and from early on I became concerned about the way…read morehe, and other toddlers, were being treated. The first incident I witnessed was a teacher, Ms. Jen, using her feet to push children into their chairs. I immediately brought my concerns to the front office because I do not believe that is an appropriate or acceptable way to handle toddlers. Unfortunately, I felt those concerns were dismissed. Not long after, I saw the same teacher use a spoon to stop my son from doing something. Aside from being inappropriate, it was unsanitary. I also witnessed teachers picking food up off the floor and giving it back to the children, which was extremely concerning. About a month later, I picked my son up with a busted lip that had dried blood on it, a knot on his head, and hives covering his body. No one contacted me about any of these injuries, and when I arrived, staff could not locate an incident report. After about 20 minutes of searching, they finally found it, but it was so poorly written that it was nearly impossible to read. Another issue occurred during water day. My son was placed in a different classroom and allowed to participate in water activities even though he was not scheduled to be outside for water day at all. He was allowed to play without a swimsuit, sunscreen, or water shoes, and spent time outside soaking wet in the same clothes I had dropped him off in. No one contacted me beforehand to let me know he had been moved or to ask me to bring the appropriate items. Ultimately, we chose to unenroll him early after receiving conflicting information regarding tuition and scheduling as he transitioned into the two-year-old classroom with an additional day. Let's just say, If they're teaching children the same math that they use to calculate payments, you do not want to bring to your child here! Throughout our time there, it became apparent that communication and organization were lacking. Staff members frequently provided different answers, and concerns were often met with explanations rather than meaningful resolution. As a parent, I was deeply disappointed by the overall lack of professionalism, cleanliness, accountability, and organization. I never felt confident that concerns were taken seriously, and there always seemed to be an excuse instead of a solution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this facility. That said, I do want to recognize the teachers who made a positive impact on my son's experience. Ms. Megan, Ms. Rebecca, Ms. Morgan, and another teacher; a Black woman with glasses who was usually there midday, whose name I unfortunately cannot remember were all kind, attentive, and genuinely cared for the children. They were a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience.

Yes, probably. I do NOT have a problem with any of the staff at this location. We were pleased with our child's teachers. The Director and Assistant Director always seemed nice and friendly, but I had overheard them on a few occasions talking about other parents, staff, etc. when they thought no one was listening... I can get past that for good daycare, but it is unprofessional. My issues lie with company policies. Sunrise/Tots Unlimited seems to be very much about their bottom line. You will find this with a lot of these daycare centers, unfortunately. The idea is to spend as little as possible and reap maximum profit. That's just how capitalism works, unfortunately. However, it is ultimately why we switched to another child care... My child's room when she was enrolled had a few children with special needs-- I liked this because I want my child to be in a diverse group and know how to treat other children. However, in a room with 18 children and two adults, which is within the legal ratio for the age group, having three children with special needs seemed to stretch the teachers very thin. I was pleased with my child's teachers, but you could tell that they just did not have the support needed. There need to be additional staff for children who require a higher level of care; or ratios need to be lowered. I did also have concerns about sanitation. Pink eye did run rampant here when my child was enrolled. My child contracted it twice. I understand that it is common in daycares, and knowing how little support staff had, I am sure that ensuring all children properly washed hands with soap was not possible. I did also notice the room over legal ratio on a few occasions. I get that this happens, but once again, they need a couple extra staff members who can float from room to room to keep within ratios AND support children who have higher needs.
