This is a no-frills, two-person shop, with no A/C and Judge Judy frequently playing int he background. While Sue definitely has a loyal client base, I think Tina rocks the house. She does a phenomenal $15 spa pedicure, with a cute little design on your big toes if you want one. It's a nice guilty pleasure for spring! Also, there is now a new lady named Kim who specializes in massages, which hasn't brought in a lot of business, so they have her doing the foot/calf rub part of the pedicure, and it's even more spectacular. Caveat: the nail polish isn't all the best quality, so dig around for a nice bottle when you're choosing your color. Eyebrow waxes are $7, and lip is $3 - never been disappointed. The only downside is that this place is a little out of the way. So, try to pair it with a trip to SF Supermarket, which is down the block.

This nailshop is a poor excuse for the prices they charge. They had gel nail color but they don't allow you to have it because "They don't have time for it to dry" Im not sure what thats about but they clearly advertise it in the salon and say yes until you sit down and they start, then they flat-out deny the service to you. I just gave up and opted for pink and white. I said very square and sharp. They turned out crooked and thick with acrylic. The white tips are all out of conjunction from one another and basically I can't wait to get back to la to get this fixed. To top it off they charged me more then the high end nail salon I go to where I live that does an impeccable job every time. The skill level can't even be compared.... to say the least. read more

She cut almost every nail bed, and the polish wasn't cleaned off the sides. There were bubbles under some of the polish, which I asked about, and then another coat was put on. The service just felt super rushed. It was really busy, so that's understandable, but maybe the quality would have been different if it hadn't been. I called them to check for an open walk in which they were available. I get there and asked if they could do cat eyes on my nails. She said yes and got started. When it came time to paint the nails the tech realized that she forgot to bring the magnet. She fumbled around looking for it, and then they asked me to come back tomorrow. I didn't have time to do that so I just decided to get blue glitter gel. She hands me green glitter gel because they didn't have blue. I didn't like the green so I decided to just get regular nail polish. So she puts on a top coat of some sort and sticks my hand under the UV lamp. She puts on the REGULAR nail polish and proceeds to put my hands (with regular nail polish) under the UV light. I was confused and asked her if it was gel. She told me it was regular polish. She puts on a top coat of some sort and sticks my hand back under the UV. She tells me we are done. I asked her if my nails were dry enough for me to get the money out to pay her. She said yes. NOPE. The polish was still super fresh and smudged all over the place, getting on my clothes and my skin. Why? Why were you putting my nails under the UV gel light? Like for what? It doesn't even help with drying. I'm not a nail tech, so I didn't know if there was a top coat you could put over regular nail polish to seal it. I guess not. And so I left the salon with this set of nails. This was in the car right after I walked out. I paid for the service, and still tipped, but I drove directly across the street and had to get them redone. Waste of time and money. I understand that people have off days sometimes, and that is why I still paid and tipped. But I won't be back. Terrible experience.

I walked in for a manicure without an appointment. A middle-aged woman came over and immediately…read moreasked, "Gel manicure? Gel manicure?" Since I was a walk-in and wanted to get my nails done, I agreed to add gel as well. The only positive thing I can say is that the manicure tools came in a sealed, sterilized package. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was very disappointing. The towel on the table was clearly not clean or fresh. I expected a clean towel for every customer, not one that appeared to have already been used for someone else. I had removed my acrylic nails a few months ago and had not had a manicure in a long time, so my cuticles were hard. Instead of using a cuticle softener or allowing my hands to soak long enough to soften them, she forcefully pulled at my cuticles. It was painful and very uncomfortable. Her customer service was very poor. She handled my hands very roughly, almost tossing my fingers from one side to the other. Throughout the appointment, I remained polite, but she made no effort to be friendly or provide good customer service. The worst part happened at the end. My hands were covered with nail dust, but instead of properly cleaning them or wiping them with a warm towel like other salons usually do, she applied lotion directly over the dust. I could clearly feel the particles being rubbed into my hands, which was very unpleasant. She did not even ask me to remove my watch and continued moving my lotion-covered hands back and forth over my watch. At the end, I paid in cash. While counting the money, she said, "Let me see," as if she was checking whether I had paid correctly. Because I was unhappy with the service, I decided not to leave a tip. She then loudly repeated, "No tip? No tip?" in front of everyone there. I found this behavior extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. Because of the rough treatment, poor service, lack of professionalism, and inappropriate comments about tipping, I cannot recommend this nail technician.
