Well, the time finally came this Spring. Having reached my 37th week, I made the appointment and waddled to Anju's house. My visit was incredibly exciting, as Anju was a absolute pleasure to meet and incredibly talented. I had previously picked out a belly design from her website gallery and the fun began. As stated in previous reviews, her ability to freehand these amazing, intricate designs is most impressive. I had quite a soothing time sitting on her couch and letting her create this magnificent art on my swollen belly. Kudos for being able to keep a steady hand while my baby kicked about her canvas. After we were finished, Anju took some pictures for her website and kindly sent them my way afterwards. She didn't have to extend that courtesy, and again, I am very grateful as they turned out beautiful, as did her design. Fast forward to the next morning. As I am in the shower, scrapping off the paste I slept with overnight something unexpected happens. My water breaks. That afternoon my daughter arrives into this world, again quite unexpectedly and 3 weeks early. Even though I can't medically prove it, I give all the credit to Anju and her belly blessing. She gets my 100% recommendation and her artwork and this experience will always remain unforgettable in my life.

She had great recommendations for getting the final henna color to be as dark as possible, and it smelled like eucalyptus. She even gave me good advice (which I refused) about not doing my henna during my ladies' sangeet - I wish I had listened! Anju had to put up with me being incredibly cranky while putting henna on me during the party (i wanted to dance!!). She never made me feel bad about it- and I'm grateful. Weddings are a stressful time. I hear she does a lot of belly henna works for pregnant ladies. Sounds awesome to me! As good as it gets - Anju is the best in Austin for the henna arts :)

I was greeted like normal and asked to sit in a chair. The lady who I assumed was to do, my eyebrows came up to me, and I began to tell her what it was that I wanted done. She waved her hand at me motioning for me to put my head back on the headrest and I continued saying I just want them cleaned up little. Keep the same shape. She said nothing to me and immediately put her thread on my face. I sat back, didn't say anything and let her work. I knew what my eyebrows looked like before and how much needed to be taken off. So when I recognized that she was going higher and higher making my eyebrows thinner I asked her to stop to which she tried to tell me that it was fine and to let her keep going. It was clear she couldn't really understand me, which is frustrating. I have no prejudice against immigrants, but Jesus Christ if you're gonna work on someone's face at least understand what they're asking you to do. However, it was also clear that I was upset and not happy with the service. The owner came over who I recognized and has done my eyebrows every other time I've been in. She was extremely apologetic. She cleaned up my other eyebrow and then used me as an example for her employee. I did not sign up to be practiced on. Let me tell you that. I came in to have a licensed aesthetician thread my eyebrows. When I called back asking if I could get the name and license number of the woman , I was told that a license isn't required to thread eyebrows. That may be true, however, it told me that there is an employee working in a spa where facials massages shampoo conditions blowouts threading waxing are all performed, who is unlicensed. If you are training people at your salon who have less than 750 hours of training you need to let the client know. End of story. I now have 2 obviously different shapes on my face and am beyond embarrassed and enraged. Don't come here. It's not worth the inconsistency, it smells funny inside, it's outdated, everyone but the owner lacks in customer service skills and she's letting unlicensed people provide services.
