Do not take your loved one here. My father was left unattended, fell out of the bed, and passed away. Horrible place. Beware.

The family like environment in which our mission statement speaks on is true. From our unique residents , the loving family members, the vendors and of course our growing (in all different ways) staff creates a special experience everyday. It takes a special person with a caring heart to work in this setting and that's what you will find here at The Fountainview Center.

The facility, like all nursing homes/long term care facilities, has a hard time retaining caregivers, as it's a hard job, but despite everything, they've always took care of my girl and the other residents. Recently, the had a change in management, and in my opinion, it was for the better, as Julius, who's been there a while and Snr. nurse, has been busy correcting and improving some things that the previous manager neglected, but at no time, did the level of care drop. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone looking for a place for a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia to live.

Rooms are either single or double room. You should never expect much from these places. You do get what you ask for eventually. Sometimes you get oral care and baths if staff have time. But these places are usually short staffed and services and far and few in between. We spent a week here after my mother in law had a stroke and was eventually transitioned to hospice. Our family had a decent experience. We adored our nurse Charleen and CNA Jackie in particular. They were more compassionate, patient, and detail oriented. We befriended quite a few residents while we were there since my children and I spent hours there daily. That really helped to have the whole community of residents and their family members lean in and help take care of us when the staff couldn't. For the residents that have been in rehab before, they did say that Briarwood is their preference. They do get seen daily by the doctors, PT's, and OT's. And although service is slow they seem to get what they need. There were a few disgruntled residents who would on occasion scream for their pain medicine to be on time, especially in the evenings. Overall I was still pleased enough with our experience. I could tell that a lot of the staff were overworked and many of them were truly trying their best. I will miss both the staff and residents that we became really close with. When you share food, gifts, and stories during a time of great trial, the kindness and power of the human spirit really does leave a mark.

The kitchen staff tries hard to work with little, so not on them, but the meals are the kink in the Rehabs armor. Over cooked vegetables, under cooked rice and mostly boring mains. They do try to make the best of a tiny budget. All in all Briarwood is a fine Rehab Facility of which I am a Resident.
