He was a challenge, especially at night when he had his times mixed up. The staff was firm but caring, and they made certain my dad was safe. They made the most challenging and stressful part of my life much more manageable, because I was confident that they cared for my dad as much as I did. The facility is just like someone's home, a very clean home. Meals are home-cooked. The staff know each resident, and they are always, ALWAYS patient and kind. There are activities. Staff manage medications impeccably. The health, safety, and comfort of the residents is at top of mind of every staff member. It's impossible for me to sing their praises high enough. If you need peace of mind for your aging loved one, you cannot go wrong with Mayfield Oaks. They are your extended family.

Helen the owner has gone out of her way to work with the in's and outs of this terrible disease. I can't recommend this place enough. Mayfield Oaks has been a life saver for our family. After a long period trying to find the best option for our mom and having to move in and out of various properties, we realized she just could not adapt well to the larger communities. The resort-like atmosphere of those places was very appealing to us, as younger adults, but once you got past the flashiness, it was always missing was the love and care you get when living in a smaller place. The attention our mom receives now is better than even we could give her in our own home. She fell in love with Mayfield because it reminded her of her own house and she feels like she is living with family - and the staff has truly become our extended family. It's been the single greatest choice we have ever made.

Multiple layers of staff so moms only complaint has been timing of meals , especially coffee and breakfast but she's never happy. I have a very strange post. In a facility such as this, in…read more2018, someone trying to make contact with a patient , first must make contact with the Hall . IF (and I intend to use IF) you can make contact with an employee , the employee will then inform you as to whether the phone is in use OR the patient is available OR the portable phone is functional (Charging) or in use by another patient OR they can't locate the phone. Tried reaching the Administrator a number of times but seems to always be out of office. How difficult would it be to have a phone in each of the patients rooms and avoid making contact with staff there. This internal process is not functional and it also is not a sanitary process with the phone being handed by so many people during the course of just one single day. Totally unbelievable.
