I really enjoyed all the help they gave me picking out my glasses and sun glasses. I would recommend them.

Dr. Darby provides comprehensive eye care including examinations, eyewear, contact lenses and…read moreaccessories in a comfortable office that is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable professionals. The first thing one notices is that the office doesn't resemble the typical medical office. Instead of industrial carpet and uncomfortable, standard-issue chairs found in most waiting rooms, Dr. Darby's has wood floors (okay, it's laminate) and plush lounge chairs. If it weren't for the frames and sunglasses, it could be Starbuck's. In fact, one of the assistants inquired whether I'd like coffee. The affable assistants efficiently capture and update patient histories and sort through insurance benefits. They're chatty and easily engaged in conversation and banter with patients. As they say, the tone of any office is set by the boss. Dr. Darby is gracious and thorough, and takes time to listen to her patients and explain each of the tests. It's a lengthy examination, but one does not feel overwhelmed. Nor does one feel rushed as though the process for the doctor has become rote. And, mercifully, Dr. Darby does not use the unsettling puff-of-air test to screen for glaucoma. At the conclusion of the tests, Dr. Darby shares in plain terms her findings and educates patients on preventive vision care. While the eye examination could be the perfect lead-in for the hard-sale of glasses or contacts, there is no pressure to buy. If a patient wants to look at frames, fine. Want to shop elsewhere? That's okay too - they give you a copy of the prescription. No one likes being corralled like cattle and, unfortunately, many medical offices take that tact. In contrast, Dr. Darby's office takes a welcome and personal approach that makes the experience both comfortable and enjoyable. Now, if they could just get an espresso maker...

This is unprofessional and poor patient care. I need a new prescription before I can get new contacts and I am on my last pair. For them to cancel without any explanation so close to my appointment date, no option to reschedule to the next available is frustrating. I am going to have to wait however long for the next available appointment with a different practice so I can have contacts to be able to see. Thanks wagoner, good going.

Dr. Norman Kahn is the best eye Dr. I have gone to! I was very nervous to see an Optometrist,…read moreespecially since it had been several years since I had seen one. When I met him, I was instantly at ease with his relaxed, friendly and professional demeanor. I had never had to wear glasses my entire life, and now, (that I had aged a few years), it had become a necessity! Dr. Kahn did a VERY thorough exam and had found a spot in my right eye on the cornea. This apparently was not a new issue. I was completely amazed at this, considering he was my "godfather" and had been my Optometrist and the family eye caretaker ever since my father and he had graduated Medical school together in Philadelphia!!!!! I try to believe that it was due to the lack of technology that was available to them considering the times!!!! Anyway, it was addressed and fortunately was nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on it.. No pun intended..Turns out that I needed glasses severely. No surprise to me! I was fit with a pair of great glasses that would fit my personality and that I also was comfortable with, physically and mentally. From beginning to end,I was treated professionally, with a smile, and, in a timely manner. I could never have asked for more. He had moved from his location and I had gone to Germany for a short time, so, I had lost track of where he had gone. Now I found him and I am going next week. Try him yourself, you'll never find better! I have to add this also, he has the most AMAZING Beatle Illustrations hanging in his office that you will ever see! Thank you Dr Kahn. You ARE the best!

I have worn glasses and contacts for over 30 years - so I have been with several eye practitioners. From the moment that I met Dr. Kahn, I knew that I could trust him. He takes all the time that is needed to carefully examine my eyes, explain the progress, discuss options and find solutions for my eye needs. I never feel like I'm on a patient assembly line - he treats me as an individual with unique concerns. He always gives sound advice but allows me to make the decisions. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the care I receive from Dr. Kahn and his professional staff.

I had an appointment and arrived a bit early. I was seated and asked to complete a history on a…read more"tablet". which I had never used before- it was difficuilt to read (I was there for glasses, after all) but the lady assisting me agreed to take down the info herself. She was cheerful abpout doing so. She took my insurance information. I was shown to the waiting area where they had the hardest, most uncomfortable metal chairs ever made. There was one doctor on duty and there were three people ahead of me. I was seen about an hour after my appointment time, first by a tech and after a short wait by the doctor. I was offered a test for various things by the tech but I refused, as they were all priced in addition to the "free" exam. As it worked out the optometrist did the same tests as part of her exam. That was the first attempted "up-charge" of the day. The proffered tests were of a sort that should have been part of any eye exam, and eventually were. After the exam, and while my eyes were dilaled, I was invited to choose frames and I chose two from the lowest priced rack, progressive lenses. By the time I sat down and got measured for the glasses, and waited to see how much my insurance paid, I was informed that the total bill was over $900 and that the "2 pair and a free exam" was only "a company deal for people with no insurance" Also, they upchanged me for glasses with a larger effectives area on the lenses- but they didnt ask. I was also charged for polarized sun glass lenses The second pair of glasses was 40% off since I had insurance, but the insurance paid about $500 leaving me with a bill of $300 and change (though I chose the cheapest glasses.) Anyway, I paid it because it would probably have cost me about that for glasses anywhere I was not notified of the extra charge until everything was nailed down. At that point with eyes dilated, I couldn't read the bill anyway. I should have known that I'd be upcharged for a lot of things when I went to this sort of a business, nationwide and with a great deal of "discount" in its extensive advertising. But $900 seems a little high for two pair of glasses. The optometrists are not employed by America's Best, aparently to keep them "independent", and I was satistifed with the professional examination. The doctor, Amanda was very pleasant. She gets five stars. Be sure to have staff explain all the charges early on so you can get what is advertised. Good advice for any business. Overall, the staff was pleasant and polite, albeit not particularly friendly. Parking is easy. They projected the glasses would be ready in 2 weeks and they will call or email me thn..

Insanely over priced. Hit me for $740 for exam + single vision glasses in 2021. The frames aren't…read moreeven name brand.
