I have been battling two leaks, one on each side of the house where we added an addition in 2006. Jose, the owner at Restoration Roofing, was able to squeeze me in and visited me the same day I requested the estimate on Yelp while the others responded and came in a day or two. Jose arrived early for our appointment and flew a drone over the house, the other roofers relied on a company that specializes in providing sqft and other data to roofers. Jose was the only one who really impressed me and presented me with a beautifully written, thorough, bulleted estimate describing all materials to be used per my preferences (e.g., Certainteed Landmark Pro shingles) before even leaving. Jose was friendly, professional and obviously knew residential roofing based on our half an hour or so together. The other roofers all got back with estimates in a day or two, which was fine - but Jose's estimate was the best-written, clear and concise but thorough, on a one-page form. Jose did not pressure me while I was waiting on the other roofers' estimates at all, when he left he just shook my hand and asked me to contact him if I had any other questions, in a warm and genuine way. The overall sense I had, combining all the Yelp reviews and my own interaction with Jose was that he is a genuine, friendly roofing expert. When the other estimates came in, I was happy to see Restoration Roofing's was among the lowest two for a lot of reasons. One reason was the pages and pages of stellar Yelp reviews from Yelpers who had solid Yelping history. Another was his communication and person skills. In addition, Jose's company is Certainteed Master Certified and Certainteed shingles, from my research, are great value and quality. In addition to a new roof and identification of the source of the leaks and repair/prevention and the upgraded shingles, I asked for new oversized gutters and downspouts, and pvc facia. When roofing day arrived, Santos, Josh and a crew seven others were right on time and were friendly and hard-working! I watched off and on as they did herculean work to remove the old roof, including replacing some of the rotted wood in need of replacement (see pic of one leak and damaged wood). They did a fine job, paying attention to detail and photographing their progress from their lofty perch, and at the job's completion Jose provided me with a link to over a hundred photos documenting the progress. I watched as the flashing, nailing, boot replacement... everything went flawlessly. And they did a great job cleaning up and did a couple extra things no charge, like resecuring soffit. I was confident when I selected Restoration Roofing over the other highly-rated roofers. A week and a half later, my roof is beautiful! All in all from appointment to estimate, to roofing, to gutters, to the photos and the price of the estimate holding true, it was a stellar experience and I can't thank them all enough for being so great at what each excels at. Bayside Exteriors, Lewes, DE replaced my roof. They did an absolutely awesome job! I had a large…read morejob (2,100 sq ft home with 6/12 roof pitch, XL 2-car garage, and a porch). They install 30 and 50 year GAF shingles. They have a high business rating with GAF, so they can offer their customers a 35-year warranty on installed GAF shingles! They came out for an estimate, went up on the roof to check it out and came down with a lot of photos, rot, black mold, holes in the boards. Because the contractor who built my garage David Carr, Homestead Contracting (BUYER BEWARE - it looks good until you find all the damage that has been done over time) did not properly attach the garage to the house, it had leaked in many places. Problems with the roof: 1) Mr. Carr never framed the garage properly for it to drain. 2) Mr. Carr NEVER installed flashing where the garage met my house. He pieced together small flashing sections on my porch because he didn't have a large enough piece. 3) Mr. Carr never installed roof vents for ventilation on the garage or my porch. 4) He butted the shingles up to the existing shingles on my house. They should have crossed over the joints. 5) It leaked everywhere where Mr. Carr attached the garage to my house. I had 2 roofing contractors tell me that the roof should have never been connected to my house the way that it was. You might think you're getting a nice-looking garage and roof, but 15 to 20 years later, when your roof needs replaced, you find out how much rot and black mold they have to remove. It is NOT worth the price you saved. Do it right in the first place. Get a REPUTABLE contractor. Bayside Exteriors gave us an estimate. They have a GAF Master Elite rating. Only 2% of the contractors achieve this rating. Their expertise in explaining everything that was done incorrectly and showing us all the rot was impressive. They had a special if you signed within 30 days you got the 35-year warranty for free, which normally cost just under $2000. If a storm blows off the shingles, they come out and fix them for free. The warranty is transferable to one buyer. They showed up with 10 men on my job. They had equipment delivered, a large dumpster, portable commode, and a dumpster that lifts up to the edge of the roof. They placed large sheets of tarp all around the house. They threw the shingles in the small dumpster as they removed them. When the small lift dumpster was full, they dumped it in the large dumpster. Another truck arrived with a tall crane-like lift which lifted the pallets of shingles up to the roof. Bayside had to use 5 boards of OSB to get rid of all the rot and mold. It was even in the walls. They had everything they needed to do a high quality job. They had a supervisor on the roof and a supervisor on the ground. They kept the yard clean so it wouldn't fly away to the neighbor's yards. Bayside Exteriors did a highly professional job. I am extremely happy with their work. I now have roof vents on the garage and porch and proper flashing. They put rubber on the roof at the back garage joint which was improperly connected to the house and had leaked so much over the years. They were done in 1 day. It all looks so much more professional than my first builder had done. I was very impressed with the workmanship of the staff and their professionalism. We bought 40 pieces of fried chicken, chips, cookies, soda, and tea for them for lunch. They were very appreciative. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this #1 company to anyone replacing a roof. Unfortunately, the leaks started again this March. I got estimates and Kyle seemed to make the most sense. He showed me pictures and explained carefully how the metal roof was bad and that installation caused damage to the siding. I got financing through him and signed contracts. His contract included getting the permits and a GAF warranty on the roofing materials! A week or so later he and his crew were here to install a newer roof. He found what was causing the problems and made the corrections needed. Even when I disagreed with Kyle about 2 of 3 skylights, he found me a solution. Then, they came back and installed new siding. There were days of banging and shaking during the installations, but the results are gorgeous! Take pictures before the work is done so everything can be put back where you had it. He and his crew were considerate, patient, and very professional! Hopefully, I now have a secure home without moisture building up and a roof that will not leak for at least 10 years! On the day of the roof tear off and install (4/14/2020), a crew of nine was at my house at 7:10 a.m. ready to go. At 5:00 p.m. my home had a beautiful new roof. Being retired, I spent a good portion of the day outside watching the crew work. There wasn't a slacker in the bunch. Except for the 20-minutes they took for a lunch break, all nine guys were full throttle throughout the entire day. When they were done and before the crew left, I did a walk around the entire perimeter of the house with a foreman from Arocon to ensure the property was clean to my satisfaction. I couldn't even tell that just hours earlier the yard was covered in old three tab shingles and tar paper. It was like I never had work done that day. The only thing that was visible to show that a full day's work had been done was the beautiful new roof with architectural shingles which added value and curb appeal to my home. Before the crew had even finished packing all their materials and tools, I had three different employees from Arocon called me to inquire if I was satisfied with how everything was going with the install.
