Dr. A and his team are the best! Why? Well... 1. Dr. A, Jessica and Carla are ALWAYS kind, friendly and personable. 2. Dr. A is great at what he does. I am not a woman who wears a lot of makeup, nor have I ever wanted to look like I've had cosmetic procedures done to my face. Natural is my preferred look. In our first consultation, Dr. A asked many good questions about my goals and over the last few months we have taken conservative measures to achieve them by using Botox, dermal injections and IPL/micro dermal needling. 3. Dr. A is fair. Through his partnership with Brialliant Distinctions, and the specials he offers I feel like I pay a fair price for all procedures. In addition, if I ever feel like I need a tweak he makes that adjustment and won't nickel and dime me for it. 4. Dr. A has put a lot of effort into creating a calm and peaceful office environment. He has great original artwork adorning the walls, a wonderful massage chair that patients get to enjoy while waiting for the numbing cream to take effect and an array of healthy snacks and beverages to enjoy while you wait. 5. Lastly, with every visit, Jessica takes photos before each procedure so you can see the improvements in your skin over time. I really like going to Dr. Alex for my Botox he did a wonderful job. No pain they have the cold air blowing on the skin and the beauty bar to keep me comfortable. He has a very gentle hand I did not feel anything. They gave me an ice pack and that was wonderful it keep me comfortable on the way home. They also offered to give me free additional Botox if the results are not perfect. This makes me feel so comfortable because a lot of other offices dilute there Botox. I received a phone call and email today from Dr. Alex himself. Basically, he tried to address concerns that I had brought up at my appointments months ago, and offered me complimentary treatments and products. He mentioned an alternative treatment to IPL's, and products that would complement said treatment. In other words, compared to the emails I mentioned in my previous review that were shorter and very general, today's email and voicemail were much more in depth and much more concerned with addressing my issues. It is sad that my concerns did not receive this much attention when I mentioned them at my appointments, or in the months between getting the IPL's and writing yesterday's review. Shouldn't customers receive this level of customer service, unfavorable review or not? While Dr. Alex was polite and professional in his voicemail and email, it bothers me that he felt that just because he has my contact information he can use it for whatever purposes, whenever he wants. I did not speak to him myself because I was out walking my dogs at the time and don't carry my phone with me. Even if I did have my phone, however, I wouldn't have picked up anyway because I had already said in my last review that I didn't want to come back here. Why would they think someone would want them to call when the person has clearly said they don't want to come back? If they had contacted me through Yelp that would have been different, since my review was on Yelp, but instead they decide to freely use my personal information simply because they have it. If they did contact me through Yelp I probably would have blocked them anyway since I said I'm never going back so I have nothing more to say to them, but at least I wouldn't have felt like they misused my information. Normally you assume offices and businesses that you patronize will only use the information you give them to remind you of appointments or something like that. But, maybe it is my fault for assuming they would adhere to normal, understood uses of personal information that many of us have come to expect from places like this. Things like this make me wary of ever giving out my contact information, and why many people (including myself) have a "junk" email address (or maybe also even a "junk" phone number) that they give out whenever absolutely necessary. They have made me regret not using it here. I don't dislike Dr. Alex or his staff, I actually thought they were rather pleasant when I would go, otherwise they probably would have gotten 1 star instead of 2, it's just the things I have mentioned they really need to improve on and, when it comes to contact information, refrain from so freely using. read more

Positives : Dr.Alex and all of his staff are extremely nice and friendly. Clean facilities. Also, high compliments to his staff for listening to issues when Dr.Alex does not. Room For Improvement: 1) Dr.Alex does not listen clearly to concerns. I had four IPL facials at A E Skin and when returning for the last three - Dr.Alex would ask how my skin was and I would mention that I was working in the sun quite a bit so I had concerns. He would then proceed to pitch sales on different procedures he was offering (i.e. Micro Laser Peel) that (after I confirmed with his staff separately) would leave my skin even more exposed and sensitive to the sun. Had Dr.Alex listened carefully to my replies, and offered perhaps a sunscreen for sensitive skin often in the sun (for example) instead of an additional peel - I may have purchased his products. Instead I left each visit feeling that he did not hear my feedback. 2) The laser machine was broken the first few months after my Groupon had been purchased. It took over three months and three reschedules (due to the laser being broken) to get in for my first appointment. The staff accommodated my troubles by giving complimentary facials, which I appreciated. However, I did express concern over a laser, that was constantly breaking, touching my face. 3) I did not receive appropriate warning & concern for procedures on darker complexions. After the fourth visit, due to a lighter work schedule I took Dr.Alex up on a sale he was having on the Micro Laser Peel. I was told it would not hurt, I may have some discomfort the rest of the day, and that the "Weekend Peel" would reveal great results after 2-3 days. I had warned Dr.Alex my skin is *very* sensitive on each visit and often asked for a lighter setting on the IPL Facial. Well - after this treatment, my face *HURT*. Dr.Alex told me to "drink some water". As I was paying for the procedure, I was in so much pain that the receptionist (who was very kind) ran to get and give me Soothing Lotion and Moisturizer. I drove home with my face in my car's air conditioning vent, held cold compresses, ice packs, and frozen vegetables on my face for the following 14 hours, and drank over a gallon of water within the next day. My face was covered in scabs, which I read was normal -except that it took EIGHT days for the scabs to peel and my face to recover (and NOT the 2-3 days per Dr.Alex.) I have an olive complexion, tan darkly (as apparent on my arms), and have very sensitive skin. I have since read that darker skin tones should be wary of the Micro Laser Peel and proceed with caution and light settings. I do wish Dr.Alex would have gone over this with me and recommended either something more appropriate - OR have warned that darker complexions could take up to a week or longer to heal from the treatment. read more

My co-worker recommended Dr. Alex, and he is GREAT!!! I have been seeing him for almost a year now and my skin looks amazing! He takes care of everything from laser treatwments to botox, and on Mondays the price per unit of botox goes down $2.00. It's nice dealing with an actual doctor when it comes to these kind of needs, rather then a nurse. He is always professional and kind, and really takes his time with his patients!!!!! I love love AE skin and Dr. Alex, the main reason why is because he's so conservative. I got the Restylane filler under my eyes. This really improved the appearance of the dark circles under my eyes by adding volume in the hollowed area. The fun thing was to see the instant result right after the treatment. I look so much more rested, and putting on my concealer has never been easier. Dr. Alex was very gentle and very detail oriented and that's what made me the most comfortable!! Oh, and who could forget the awesome numbing cream they applied beforehand? It works magic, I hardly felt a thing during the procedure. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating to my needs. One of the staff members, had great huge and full lashes that really caught my attention. she later told me she uses Latisse. I'm on my fourth week and I see a significant improvement in the length. She also recommended I put it on the eyebrows, and believe me its the greatest thing ever. Dr. Alex is fantastic. I also purchased a groupon deal. Never did I expect such a great level of service from this deal. Like everyone else has said, he thoroughly answers your questions and any concerns you have. Unlike other spas, anesthestic for the IPL photofacials is a given-- this shows to me that he cares about the comfort of his patients. And he personally does the treatments. No other medspa I've ever gone to actually has that level of knowledge and education to stand behind the operation of the equipment. I feel pretty lucky that I found Dr. Alex. Good experience, nice office waiting area. (I was in the Encin office, but I understand there's another office in Van Nuys.) I was treated well, saw the doctor (which I was assured happens every time!) and found him knowledgeable and patient. I came to Dr. Alex via a Groupon, which I just redeemed today. It's too soon to tell whether the affects of the chemical peel I bought will be everything I hoped, but I can say that my visit with Dr. Alex was very satisfying. I got paperwork to take home explaining the procedure and after-care. First, the doctor carefully and thoroughly explained the procedures, offered various prescription-strength skin regimen products (but without the "big sell", more informatioinal) at competitive prices and seemed very competent. He's a good listener and answered my questions patiently. He also produces a blog and a newsletter with really good monthly deals, which you can check out online. I'm not terribly impressed by $10/unit botox, which is a good but not great deal, but there are other services (peels, laser treatments) whose prices looked really tempting. He told me to wait to get certain anti-aging treatments -- most doctors wouldn't trust me to come back, so I found his honesty refreshing and that upped his trustworthiness quotient in my book, too. I bought a $300 peel for $79 with this Groupon and am delighted to have found Dr. Alex. Going back in 6 weeks for a Photofacial. :) read more

I had an IPL facial at A E Skin 3 weeks ago. Dr. Eshaghian and his crew were very very nice and the treatment was gentle and fast. Dr. E saw how nervous I was given that it was my first treatment of this kind, and did his best to have my experience there be as enjoyable as possible. It didn't hurt at all, it was quite interesting. Redness was minimal and after the "coffee-grinds" were gone 4-5 days later, my face looked really great and radiant. After reading the amazing reviews I had to pay a visit to Dr. Alex. It was the best experience! Parking is easy, his assistants Casey and Karla are amazingly sweet and helpful and the facility is clean and comfortable. Dr. Alex took his time to explain the procedures which was the IPL Photofacial and the Skin Rejuvenation and Restoration. He answered all my questions and made me feel super comfortable. The procedures itself were great. I didn't feel a thing. I was in and out of there within an hour. By the next day the redness already faded. I have been a patient of Dr. Alex for a few years and I am very satisfied with the fantastic results I achieved from the IPL photo facials, and botox. I purchased Voluma when he was running a special. I had the procedure done about a month ago and I'm very pleased with the results. It has added more volume to my cheeks and they now have a subtle, natural fullness.The procedure was not too uncomfortable and I had minimal bruising. I used ice packs for a few minutes after the procedure and went back to work. It takes a few days for the product to settle but there was no down time. I went to A+E skin because I was concerned with some scars and sun spots. I didn't know what to expect because I had done some lasers before but didn't see any drastic results. Two days after my laser I noticed that my pores were smaller, and I had considerably less redness. The laser was relatively painless. They used both numbing cream and a cooling wand to make sure I had minimal discomfort, and the procedure was done by Dr. Eshagian himself. The staff was also super friendly and punctual. I have been going to AE Skin since last year, and my skin looks and feels refreshed and I look younger. I have been getting peels done regularly and using the product regimen from Dr. Alex, and I notice my skin rarely breaks out and my fine lines have diminished.
