Dr. Wilfred Miyasaki is always calm and gentle, and I feel like I'm saved from the anxiety and stress of visiting the dental office. I visited this office when I heard a rumor that Miyssaki father and son are legendary specialists in implants and dental cosmetics. Originally, my husband Jeff introduced me as a patient of Dr. Miyasaki father and son. The staff was also very kind, and even when I was in the waiting room they asked, "Are you ok, do you need anything?" My hygienist is not full time at Dr. Miyasaki's office , but it's very reassuring for Japanese people that there are also Japanese-speaking dental hygienists. I've had a long relationship with dentists since I lived in Japan, so it seems that I have acquired the skills to judge the good or bad of the doctor's technique immediately on the first visit. So I can say, the treatment by Dr. Miyasaki (the father) was completed safely without any stress or anxiety. Especially after the injection was finished without any pain I asked, "Did you inject it now?" That's when I heard laughs. The explanation of the future treatment plan was also polite, and I decided to believe his words and follow him without feeling any pressure about the estimate. The market price for dental treatment in the United States is expensive, but considering the long-standing experience so far, I felt that the price range of A Downtown Dental Group was set very reasonably. That's why I'm looking forward to the estimate from the office, with a view to upgrading my dental cosmetics. Best dental experience ever for my teenager! First time here and have been very impressed from the start. Roni is very knowledgeable, friendly, kind, caring and understanding. Joanne is sweet, gentle and compassionate. Shout out to Dr. Wu who went over and beyond with dental consultation, exam and cleaning! Dr. Wu took time to (1) read report beforehand and (2) demonstrate to my teenager, who just got braces, where to focus when brushing teeth and how to floss. Flossing with braces has been difficult for my teenager, and I'm really grateful for the time Dr. Wu spent teaching my teenager how to slip the floss behind the archwires and in between the teeth in order to floss properly. I was a patient of Dr. Wilfred Miyasaki. I had a horrible experience at this office. He put several crowns with posts in 2023 and they started to fall off within 1 year. Multiple attempts to reattach them failed completely. Additionally, his office submitted a claim to the insurance company for the denture with the cast metal framework. However, the denture that I received from this office was made of thermoplastic and it didn't have any metal as they claimed. The denture stated to fall apart within several months. Following my complaint to the insurance company and to the office, the doctor refunded money to the insurance company. Now I am in a worse situation then I was before I came to this office for the first time. I would give a zero star rating if I could. read more

I'm so comfortable going to the Dental Office. Today, I went to see Dental Hygienist Janet Mariano for a check up and cleaning. Janet is very gentle, funny and she eats 6 times a day. lol. The service was okay but very over priced. Their very busy, so expect to book a month out. However that's not what got to me. I decided to change doctors last year and this business wouldn't release my records. A representative of my new dentist sent over a consent form for my medical records to be released. They did not acknowledge the consent form. They also used fowl language when denying my request. I think it's very unprofessional and inappropriate. I'm happy I moved on. read more

I just want to thank the entire staff here. They truly helped me get my life and self esteem back. After suffering from MS and many falls, I also developed epileptic seizures and did some face plants into the concrete several times due to these episodes. I was devastated that my lifelong bright smile was now gone with trauma I received from my face and was very embarrassed. I loved both father and son doctors and the treatment plan they gave me and executed perfectly truly gave me my life back. I was referred by a family member. I looked up the business, and before i made any appointments, i called to inquire about veneers, and the information I received was yes they do take my both my dental insurance and yes i was informed that veneers would be cosmetic if there is insufficient lost of tooth structure But since there in network with both my dental they would honor the approved amount/patient share from my dental insurances 725.60 per tooth inetwork so for total for 6 teeth 4500.00. So i agreed to make an appointment. Things were ok free Consult associate hyping me up with the pricing, how good doctor is and history, etc, so i said, "Let's do it. Finally, i was put in the office, and they took a while since they couldn't find the camera, then found the camera. The camera had issues, oh boy! Finally, Dr. Wilfred Miyasaki came in and examined my tooth bite, etc. My tooth is fine, healthy. I told him what kind of smile I wanted and the style and shape of the tooth. So then he quoted me 6900.00 i was shocked, so i asked and explained what was told and to me and about my dental insurance and the approved amount since it accepted there he then looked at my shades color of my teeth. Then he tells me that he can't do your case because my teeth are too white and can find a shade to match, and the translucency is hard? I mean, really!? Then he tells me "that I should go see a dentist who would take my dual dental approved amount" or " you should try this dentist, but it will cost more than what I charge." I have never felt so disappointed and belittled by someone or a company and giving me false information, making me feel guilty and wasting my lunch break. I read the negative reviews but figured to each its own experience but so far as other negative reviews says false information/results and i do believe that this company is just in it for the money amd to hype you up to trap you in to come in with the free consultation. I do not recommend this place if you have expectations and need accurate information/ results. Because of satisfaction, you will not get it with them. I have never done a review before on Yelp this my ever first review. I feel so belittled, degraded, disappointed, and upset that i had to review this company. I originally made a appointment just for my annual cleaning because my hygienist that I usually go to on different location, suddenly quit for family emergency and I needed someone right away before my insurance expires next month. Luckily, they were able to fit me in within few days. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and the fact the office was really clean and they had air filter for every room left me with great first impression. Now I realize how unsanitary and dirty my old dentist's office were before coming here. The staff from receptionist, assistant staff and hygienist was all very helpful and friendly. I met with a hygienist Janet Mariano. She explained about my oral health and was genuinely concerned about my gum. After few minutes of talking to her, I have decided to do a deep gum cleaning(treatment) as well. I have never experienced such a thorough cleaning by a hygienist. She constantly asked about my comfort level during cleaning and it really made me feel at ease. She is by far the best hygienist I ever had. I was glad that my old hygienist quit because I'll be coming here for all my dental needs from now. They left me with great first impression. 10/02/2020 Let me start by saying that I have been terrified of The Dentist my entire life. Years ago I had a terrible experience with a dentist in Kailua who told me it was "not possible" for me to be feeling the pain that I was feeling as I white-knuckled the chair and tried to breathe through the pain. My lack of dental insurance coupled with my fear of dentists has kept me out of the chair and led to my having serious dental problems. After days of pain and not being able to eat or sleep, I literally could not take the pain anymore. So as soon as they opened I called to see if they would see me. I was told to come in to their office so off I went worried, in pain, and not even sure if I could financially afford to stop the pain. The reason for this review is to let anyone, who may be similarly situated, know that Dr. David Miyasaki is different and you can honestly Trust him. His staff is different and they genuinely care. I mean real Malama real Kokua not just Waha kine. I mahalo Ke Akua for bringing me to Dr. Miyasaki and I Mahalo Dr. Miyasaki and his team for not only taking the pain away and working with me but for giving me hope that I'll be able to someday smile again. I came to Dr. Miyasaki in need of extensive dental work. I had gum disease for years and then my life took an unexpected downhill spiral which left me homeless for years. I was unable to properly take care of my teeth or anything else at that time. Straight up I am scared of the dentist and it's like pulling teeth to get me to go. I was in a program who were going to help me pay for my dental work so I came to Dr. Miyasaki got a lot of X-rays and pictures and got a lot of scared. Years later I managed to get my teeth all pulled out little at a time by a surgeon and called Dr. Miyasaki back to get some dentures that my Medicaid will pay for only to be told by a snotty receptionist that they don't take Medicaid people and only saw me that one time cuz of charity. More like cuz of charity exposure. That's probably why they were taking so many pictures of me it was more like a photo shoot than a dental visit. I was truly disappointed and hurt but it is what it is. I think if Dr. Miyasaki hadn't became a dentist he would have done well in the acting profession he's really good at that. read more
