AMAZING. The restaurant has a nice selection of gluten free options. The service was excellent and Shakur was very attentive and helpful. The mushroom risotto was phenomenal. Suggest making reservations as the place does get crowded. It was only me so I was lucky enough to get a table before another reservation showed up. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate and romantic but you do t have to dress fancy. So glad I found this location as I can only eat gluten free food. I would definitely recommend for dinner (they open at 7pm) as I would definitely return.

One of our favorite meals in Portugal. We found this place on Yelp and made reservations. We arrived and the dining room was empty. What we didn't know at the time was that the patrons were actually all in a secondary room, not visible from the front. The ambiance was great and most of the tables were full. There was a nice vibe and buzz in the room. We ordered the Tábua Mista and everything on the board was delicious. The Gorgonzola was the standout, for me. My wife found it too strong (more for me). For entrees, she had the lasagna and I opted for the Linguine Alla Carbonara. Both dishes were outstanding. My dish came with a black pepper and black olive ground mixture that was phenomenal. I wish they bottled and sold it!

This place fills up fast. Make reservations. Food is amazing. Cheese plate was huge. Tables are close together, but has an upscale vibe.

Absolutely delicious. The service was amazing. The food was amazing. The ambiance was romantic. Me and my boyfriend loved everything! Highly recommend whenever in Porto.

    Bruschetta and Portugal red wine.

It is a quaint restaurant with outstanding food. It was one of our favorite experiences in Porto. The manager recommended a dry red wine from Portugal. The bruschetta was unique in that each piece had a different topping. We also had the mushroom risotto and eggplant parmigiana. It was all very, very good!

Soooo good. Sooo worth the hype. Get a reservation and enjoy! This was by far the best meal we had in Portugal (Lisbon and Porto). Been to Tuscany and Rome multiple times, lived in NYC for more and this is as good or better than any pasta anywhere I've had! We loved it so much we tried to come back a second time! Food is fantastic, and for the quality very inexpensive. Beef carpaccio was magical, lasagne so complex and the ravioli was superb. Everything we ordered was great. This is a must go. Get the Tiramisu for dessert!

The last night in Porto and in Lisbon, we wanted to mix things up and found this highly rated Italian spot. This ended up, probably being one of my favorite restaurant that we went to an hour when we check in Portugal. Restaurant had a super cozy feel with warm lighting but also felt spacious at the same time. The kiddos on one side of the dining area made the space feel bigger than it was. The open bar on display was also gorgeous and modern. We got: Bruschette Miste - This came with five pieces of toast with different types of toppings. They were all delicious. The bread also somehow stayed crispy on the bottom, despite being topped to the max. Burrata - This was marvelous. The product came in a bed of arugula with some lightly cooked tomatoes, cherry tomatoes. The Barada was like creamy, fresh and delicious, perfectly seasoned. This was also huge by the way - probably 6 inches across. We split this between 2 people but I think this would be best split with ~3-4. Carbonara - Delicious! Creamy, with a good ratio of crispy, smokey bacon. Pesto - This was a pleasant surprise - the pesto was very nutty and flavorful and the sauce clung onto the noodles nicely. Tiramisu - One of the best I've had - fresh, fluffy, and not too sweet. I'd definitely get this again! It was on the smaller side, so recommend sharing between 1-2 people. We finished this off with some limoncello (lemon liquor) on the house!

A must-visit if you're in Porto. Make sure to make a reservation. It's so worth it. The Veal Marsala was the best I've ever had. Not the typical Marsala pounded flat. Served cubed and the texture is a buttery wonderful taste. Everyone else's dinner, which of course I had to taste, was fantastic too. The Veal Vitello which was more of a rare preparation of the veal was delicious. The special gnocchi was prepared in a velvety cream sauce with mushrooms. There was a fabulous smokey taste. The eggplant parmigiana which was prepared in the standard fashion was very tasty as well. Moving on to dessert - the homemade ice cream was out of this world and although the standard Italian dessert, the tiramisu was way above standard. We didn't have anyvstarters because we are lunch and weren't as hungry looked delicious on everyone elses's tables. Overall, must visit!!!

The ambiance at this restaurant is so wonderful and the service is even better! Everyone here was so welcoming and friendly. Dietary preferences were asked about right away and my gluten free allergy was kept in mind throughout each course. I got one of the specials of the week and it was delicious!! Definitely recommend.

On our first night in Porto we made reservations at this place and it was hands down such a great experience. The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable on their wines. We had the lasagna that was fantastic and had such bold flavors. The Penne Trafuno was amazing and the black truffle was just perfect in flavor in this dish. Please come give this place a try. Well worth it.

Definitely recommend making a reservation, I found it impressive that the hostess's reservation system was essentially a notebook and pen in this digital age. We did not see much of our waiter, since the restaurant was extremely busy and filled up with diners. Standouts: 1. Razor clams - I'll always get these if I see it on the menu. Cooked in this incredible garlic sauce. 2. Fish and seafood cataplana - delicious, tomato-forward seafood stew; I liked the version that we had the night before more which came with rice and was more filling. But this was basically a never-ending bowl of fish, clams, mussels, and shrimp. Add to that the fact that the restaurant like most in Porto did not have A/C and I emerged feeling like I had been sitting in a sauna. Skipped dessert; I had my eye on the Weeel! froyo truck parked outside. One more nit - the metal chairs are not comfortable at all for sitting a long time in.

It's the best cooked octopus I've tried in Portugal, super tender and a nice char. A little on the expensive side, but great flavor. I wish it had more bell peppers on the side to add some sweetness. We also ordered tuna tartar, burrata with sun-dried tomatoes, and slow cooked veal. The tuna tartar was fresh but could have used some jam or freshness from some citrus. The burrata had a great creamy gazpacho sauce with fresh sun-dried tomatoes. And the veal had a nice tender wine flavor. The dessert was amazing, a trompe l'oiel lemon with lemon sorbet and a sweet cookie crumble. The lemon had a light chocolate crust and was filled with cream and lemon curd. Such a beautiful and tasty end to our meal.

And there were a series of small, minor issues that detracted from the experience. Bread course came warm, with a caramelized onion butter and some spicy bell pepper mayo that was ridiculously divine. This was my favorite course. Got the Cyber Punk tuna sashimi. Presentation was amazing. The tuna itself paired with the ponzu sauce was quite good. There were other elements like trout roe and crispy chicken skin, but the portions were sparse and I felt like the sauce drowned out their contribution a bit. Still a great dish though. Would order again. My main dish was the Vitela (braised veal). While the menu ostensibly presents these items for two to share, they can make half-portions of certain items, of which the Vitela was one. The meat was wonderfully tender. Flavor was had a slight tinge of bitterness and saltiness that didn't quite agree with me. Good dish overall. Service was kind and engaging. Possibly a bit too fussy over me for my American sensibilities, but they were very nice. The server knowledgeable about wine pairings and helped me pick out some for the courses I ordered. A couple of very minor issues here and there, like spilling some wine when pouring the glass, stuff like that. Also, the server shook my hand coming and going. Nice gesture but all I could think of was germs. Bathroom: Single-occupancy, upscale and nice. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up though. All in all, at decent restaurant but like I said, I had a bunch of small complaints that just added up, and it says a lot that my favorite course was the bread course. I would not repeat personally, but I think it might be worth a try for those that really love what's on the menu.

Given its small size, with only five tables inside, we waited at least an hour for a seat. The food did not disappoint. We started with the black pig cheek served with bread, and it was surprisingly delicious--big chunks of pork, a bit spicy, juicy, and not at all dry! Next, we tried the "a brás," which features fried potatoes, onion, and egg. It was fantastic, but you have to eat it quickly as the thinly sliced potatoes get soggy fast. Of course, we had to order the Francesinha, Porto's traditional dish. It's quite heavy, consisting of a sausage, ham, and steak sandwich smothered in melted cheese. While it was interesting to try, it was a bit too much for me to finish, and I don't think I would order it again. We also enjoyed the octopus and codfish, both of which were pretty good--the octopus drizzled with olive oil and the codfish flaky. We paired our meal with a local wine, which was decent. Overall, the food was great and definitely worth a visit. It was surprisingly affordable given the generous portions we ordered!

No real plans, no reservations, no guilt, and no time constraints when it came to meals (well, except breakfast...which was included at our hotel). Our first night in Porto, after an amazing guided tour with some very cool sites and some delicious food stops for some sweet treats, both our guide and front desk person recommended VINHAS D'ALHO down by the river for dinner (a reservation would have gotten us outside seating , but that's ok...). Wifey had an amazing mushroom risotto and I had Black Linguini with Seafood (mussels, clams and shrimp). We started the meal with some bread and Qieijo de Azeitão cheese - the cheese was a smooth, creamy texture with a hearty flavor that was really delicious. The meals were what we came to expect in Portugal - not too fancy, the flavors of the food took precedence rather than the seasonings, and we walked away just full enough to share a couple desserts and an after dinner drink. I just wish we would have left some of the bread leftover so I could sop up every drop on the dish. I know I don't need to say it, since it's Portugal, but the service was amazing. It was a beautiful evening so we walked along the river after dinner so we didn't fall into a food coma. Man, I miss Portugal.

As I came in on my own I opted for the one open stool at the counter. The restaurant was busy on a Monday early evening, about 5:30-6:00 pm-ish, with what felt like mostly locals. They have a regular menu, a daily menu printed on the counter top, and they also do Take-Away. Their specialty is definitely their roasted chicken, which one can see cooking on spits at the entrance of the restatruant, conjuring such amazing smells that truly open up the appetite. The staff is sweet and did their best to serve me, with my English/Spanish and no Portugese self. Everything I ate was top-tier without being fancy. Simple and flavorful. I ordered a 1/2 chicken (way too much for me by myself) that came with batatas (french fries- which I didnt love), so I ordered a side of white rice and a salad, as well as what I would call a carafe of wine (it was definitely either two very healthy pours or 3 regular ones). All in all, I paid $15 euros, which I thought was a great value for all that I was given and how tasty everything was.
