Finding specialty contractors to come out to the Lake Don Pedro area is hard enough, let alone finding ones who can provide prompt service. So imagine my surprise when I contacted A- Dependable Overhead Door to inquire if they came to my area, they were able to schedule a tech to come out within a couple of hours, even though I told them I wasn't in a hurry. The had provided me a quote on both replacing the broken spring, as well as replacing both, since it stands to reason that if one goes, the other is sure to follow, so I went with that option. The tech, BJ was right on time, despite some difficulty in finding me, which isn't an uncommon problem where I'm at. BJ was very personable, and we found stuff to talk about while he worked and I watched, which probably made his job more difficult, but he still made a quick and easy job of it. BJ also took the time to go over maintainence on the weak points in the door that I could do to extend the life of the components and avoid future problems. At the end of the job, the price was still the quoted amount despite our distant location, which I didn't expect, as we almost always pay a trip charge out here, in addition to the cost of the job. While I hope I don't have any more problems with my garage doors, I wouldn't hesitate to call them again in the future. A+ read more

Last Sunday (Father's Day) my garage door came off of the track due to a mistake on my part. I was unable to get the door back onto the track. With help from my father we were able to at least pull the garage door nearly shut down, until I could figure out what to do. It looked horrible, it looked like the cable came undone, the track itself looked like a lost cause. (Of course I'm not a garage door expert so I might have slightly overreacted in my mind on the damage this slight mistake cost on what repairs it was going to need). We contacted friends who may have a recommendation on who to call, which we were recommended A Dependable Overhead Door Co. so we called them the next day, slightly nervous what we were going to hear. We called around 9 AM and we were given a window between 11-1 and were here by 11:10. The man who came over, was very professional, friendly and after examining the issue, let me know, it looked worse than it is, but nothing traumatic, I didn't need a new track system or anything. He finished his work and then tested the garage to make sure if was just right. Now my garage is good as new, works perfectly. I found that one of my torsion springs broke. I am a mechanic so I decided to change them by myself. I found out that it is almost impossible to find torsion springs on the regular stores, and on top they need to be the right ones. At that point I found in the Internet a place where you can order them, no big deal. I did it knowing that it might take 3 to 5 days to get them. At that point I spent $127 in parts that I didn't have yet. Just for curiosity I did a search on companies in the area for garage door repairs. I found A-Dependable and I called them to get an estimate...just in case. They have a special and it will cost me $138 done the same day I called !! Obviously I cancelled my order and I confirmed them to come and repair my door. They told me they will show up between 12 and 2 and at 1 the Technician showed up. At 1:30 he already changed the two springs and installed new nylon rollers (which I paid separately) and he was gone. The Tech was so professional and efficient that I was amazed. I caught a lawn chair in my door track, and the whole door went off track, and I could not open it more than 3-4 inches. The cable was wrapped around the mechanism, and I could not loosen it enough to even try to get the door back on track. I thought I had destroyed the entire unit. I was able to get Brandon out to fix it within two days. He worked in real tight quarters, including a low ceiling. He gave me an estimate in a few minutes, told me it was not as bad as I thought it was, and he had it fixed perfectly within an hour. The cost was well below what I had expected. This is the second time in a year that Brandon has repaired my door. He is smart, polite, efficient, and honest. I am glad he was sent out to fix it this time. I told him that I would most likely be calling him again sooner than later, when I mess the door up again, and he said he'd be happy to help. I rent and my management company uses A-Dependable. I've had Chad out twice in the last 8 months for two different problems (yeah, rental property, old equipment, there until it falls apart). Both times Chad has done a great job. You just give a brief description of what the problem is, and he knows what's wrong and what needs to be done. Today, he had my garage door opener fixed within 10 minutes easy, maybe 5. Standing there talking to Chad, I picked up a few general repair tips myself that I'm sure I can use on other things. Seems to me if a national rental management agency retains this company, it's not just because they're reliable, it's because they're a good value. I got a hold of this company through Yelp, and they responded VERY promptly. The office staff are very nice and helpful. It helps when the person answering the phone knows the product as well. We scheduled an appointment, and Brandon came out to assess what happened when another garage door company failed to put in the railing correctly (it broke away from the wall and ripped out a huge chunk of sheet rock - we repaired the sheet rock ourselves). He really knows his stuff! He installed a board on the garage header for the railing to be bolted to, then re-installed the rail and adjusted the system. Last Saturday morning, we noticed that one of the springs in the garage door was broken. Our experience with Dependable Overhead Door Co. started with a call the same day. I had my 18-year-old noisy garage door opener replaced today by A-Dependable Overhead Door. Branden arrived within the specified time. He went to work right away and installed a Liftmaster Garage Door Opener. After Branden installed the equipment and adjusted the rails because the door was rubbing against the house frame, he went over the features and warranty information. I spoke to Chris on Monday afternoon about a broken spring on my door and he was ready to get someone out right away. Unfortunately I had somewhere I had to be, so we set an appointment for between 9 and 11 on Thursday morning when I could be home. Lee arrived right around 930 and got right to work.
