So one day as we were coming home, we decided to stop in. It is sensory overload! It was so colorful and packed with so many cute things in the shop. You can find gifts for friends or yourself. There were great items for kids, teens and adults. I loved the vintage board games. They were packaged in such an attractive way. I found a couple of really pretty decorative pieces for my condo too. This would be the perfect place to find a housewarming or hostess gift. There was a delightful dog at the store. I think maybe the owners... I love when a business brings their doggie to work. I was worried about my decision to stick with Brandi as my hairstylist after the awful consultation I received, which I had to pay FULL PRICE for. It was a couple of weeks before the wedding, so I felt I had no other choice. She didn't listen to what I wanted. I felt like she just did whatever she wanted...I could've done a better job, but it was my wedding day and I wanted a professional. I wanted no worries. I got the very opposite. Brandi zipped up my veil in the garment bag I brought it in after my consultation, therefore ripping it. She proceeded to deny that she did this. This should've been a red flag. I should've ran screaming for the hills. She is probably the most unfriendly stylist I have ever had the displeasure to meet. I was willing to believe she was simply having a bad day. This is the one aspect of the day I was truly unsatisified with...my hair. Did I mention she used a regular rubberband in my hair? Like, one you would use in an office. On my wedding day, she glanced at a picture I brought in, and AGAIN, proceeded to do a very sloppy job with my hair, rushing to keep her appointment with her next client. I began to cry. She was completely unsympathetic. She redid it. I was still unhappy with it, but it would have to do because I WAS ON A SCHEDULE AS WELL! I felt so stupid. I am so nice and felt like she took advantage of that. I even gave her a good tip. What was I thinking? My veil was not securely fastened and fell out several times even before the ceremony. It also fell out mid-ceremony. My hair looked like shit and was falling out of the bobby pins, which showed oh so tackily. I was looking at my wedding photos and my hair just looks AWFUL in them. Do not choose this salon for your small, intimate wedding…read more I am a bride who only wanted hair/make up for myself, no bridal party. Small, DIY wedding. I reached out in June (September wedding), completed the questionnaire on the website, received no response. That should have been my first red flag. However, I really liked the image the salon projected, so I called. I spoke with Alyse, who was very nice on the phone, she did tell me they have a busy wedding season, but ultimately said this was something they could do. That was the last good communication I had with her. After that, it would be intermittent emails every few weeks. They messed up the amount for the deposit- the pay link requested 2/3 of the cost instead of the 1/3 like she had told me. I didn't hear back from her when I asked about it. But because I wanted what they promised, I paid it. I wanted the pamper: the hair, the make up, the experience. Fast forward to the month before my wedding. We still had not secured a date for the hair/make up trial. She had not responded in 3 weeks. And any time Alyse responded to my emails it was, "thank you for your patience, we have been so busy", or "we checked with our other brides". I do understand being busy, however I do not need constant reminders. It made me feel like I was not a priority; at times even an inconvenience. This was not the experience I was hoping for. I cancelled the services, and I was given a full refund. That's the only positive thing I can say. The craziest part, I never received an apology or any acknowledgement of the poor service. Just a "thanks for letting us know". I left out some details for brevity, but overall...maybe good for someone who has a big party and books a year in advance. Not so good for the little/single parties. My advice to anyone considering this salon- do everything on the phone at the start to avoid the poor communication and stress that I experienced. Or find somewhere else. Luckily I have amazing friends who can help me prepare for my day, in a way this place never could.

All of us are from out of town and knew nothing about any salons in the area, so finding and going to a stylist that we didn't know was scary and stressful, but my first call to The Parlor made me feel at ease. Lauren (the owner) reassured me and made me feel comfortable. Not only did she make me feel comfortable with our hair plans, but was also a local person who knew many of the other venders that would be at my daughters wedding and spoke highly of them. We set up appointments for both a trial run and the day-of styling. The trial appointment went well and Lauren and Taylor were super friendly and easy to work with. They listened to what we were looking for and tried options until we were happy with the outcome. The only concern we had after the trial was that mine and my daughters hair didn't stay put for long, but we found that they can't use as much product for a trial so they can work with different styles. The hair for the actual wedding day was absolutely perfect and lasted all day/night long! I felt that Lauren and Taylor both did a great job making us feel welcome and giving us beautiful hair up-dos for the wedding.
