Our rescue dog Amber has had many visits to both the Rotherham branch and Crystal peaks due to an…read moreongoing illness. Rachael Frost (Senior Veterinary Surgeon) looked after Amber on numerous occasions over at Rotherham and we always felt full of confidence that our fur baby was in the best hands. Last Wednesday we had to make the most heartbreaking decision that it was now time for Amber to be pain free and at peace and on arrival into the surgery we found comfort in that the vet that would be helping our little girl was Rachael. We have had a few rescue dogs over the years and many visits to the vets seeing numerous surgeons but non of which have ever made such an impact as Rachael. This morning a card arrived through our door and after speaking so highly of Rachael with the family over these past days this lady just went even higher in our estimations, sending the most beautiful condolence card with Ambers foot print inside. This lady didn't just do her her job she went above and beyond and has shown what a wonderful caring and compassionate lady she is, not just to Amber but to us who have lost the most precious thing in our household. We will forever be grateful for the love, support and care you gave to Amber and for the greatest gift of her paw print which we will cherish forever. This lady is the type of person you can only wish for your beloved pet to be cared for by and how lucky we were to have this lady do so for Amber. Rachael you are an amazing vet but also an incredible caring person. We cannot thank you enough.

Looking at the reviews this vets seem to have improved considerably…read more I used them around 10 years ago. The turning point for me was when I rang in as an anxious pet owner asking about treatment for my dog, the receptionist thought she put me on hold. She then proceeded to use every F word possible and scream that she couldn't F'ing cope with me. Her supervisor came on the phone and I advised her that I had heard everything and she could only apologize. I immediately changed vets and informed them that I could not leave any animal of mine in their care if that is how they spoke about their clients! I also took a Terrapin in for treatment which I had found, the vet looked and hinted they were not funded for wildlife but said the Terrapin looked alright. I then rang the RSPCA who took the poor creature to a sanctuary, it died en route. Coincidentally they then took it to Peak Vets who diagnosed extreme muscle waste. So not alright then? Still they didn't have to treat it as it was dead. The Partner Steve rang me to ask me to clear my bill, no apology! He has since retired. So it was 10 years ago, still a lot of the staff I spoke to are still there. Sorry but had I not heard how that receptionist/vet nurse and her disgusting and disturbing outburst then I would have been none the wiser. Lets hope they have changed!

Both vets obviously love animals and they are wonderfully reassuring to us worried owners too. The reception staff are also extremely friendly and are on-hand to answer enquiries by email as well if you haven't got an urgent problem. I would definitely recommend these to anyone in the area.

After being an inpatient for two days he came home and slowly recovered and is now a very well and happy cat looking forward to Christmas with his family. I used Willow Vetinary Clinic for 21 years without any problems. During the last 8 years, my male…read morecat had pancreatitis. I was not able to get insurance for him, so had to pay for all treatment myself. I have a number of rescue cats. I paid all bills over the last 21 years without question. During 2010/2011 my then 13 year old developed a knee problem. I was concerned with regard to her treatment. she had a plastic knee which cost over £500.00 with the cage I was advised to buy and other things. she had to be kept in the cage which ended in being a duration of over 6/7 weeks as the hole in her leg did not heal. She was stitched and stapled. no collar was put on at first until WE requested it. Finally, being exasperated I returned to the vet for the 6th time, seeing a different vet, and saying I wanted to leave my cat there until they had sorted out the problem. I had a 4 year old granddaughter and my cats leg was oozing rubbish. I telephoned to see how she was and a very snooty receptionist told me that she had taken so long to heal because I hand't followed their advice. I had! I bought a cage £50.00 another litter tray. kept her in it for far too long. returned to the vet 6 times which cost for the fuel and time off work. I told her this two weeks later I received a letter saying they did not want me as a customer any longer. my husband was livid. I wrote for an explanation and was completely ignored. I contacted them some months later because my pancreatic cat was very ill and they wouldn't treat her. So what point it the Royal College of Vets advising people to contact the vet in the first instance. Once you question anything thats it absolutely shocking treatment and I don't believe they care two hoots about the animals because they would not treat mine even though they knew he could die. Really caring vets if you have nowhere else to go, yes use these Willows in Endon.

After issues over treatment of three different dogs over 3 years we have finally left this…read morepractice. The first problem concerned a bad mis-diagnosis in 2017 of my elderly mother's dog on which she doted. Arundells' vet insisted that her problems were related to a build-up of fatty tissue and NOT cancer, as we had suspected. After a subsequent and very expensive MRI scanning procedure at another vet, our fears were shown to be accurate and the dog was finally put to sleep. Our own precious retriever/spaniel cross became ill one night and we had to take him into Bennetthorpe in the early hours of the morning to see what was to be done. I am sure that nothing could have been done to save him, he was 13yrs old, but we felt that over £600 in less than 6 hours was a fairly hefty fee to pick up a dead body. This week our latest and final problem has occurred with our Labrador puppy who has been registered here since June 2019 when we got him at 10 weeks old. It may have been difficult to spot a hip issue at his early health-check and attendance for immunization, but we had an increasing concern that all was not well. He was subsequently castrated (far too young as we are now told, but we were not advised of this by Arundells at the time or we would certainly have re-thought the action). Recently, the arrogance and unhelpful behavior of Arundells' staff was highlighted when we attempted to have them sign off on our Labrador puppy's planned visit to a physiotherapist - what ensued was a veritable circus of poor communication and organization. Ahead of the physio visit, we asked for a consent note from the vet who had seen him last. This was agreed to, but the consent order was wrongly sent for him to be operated on and not for physio. We asked for the proper form to be sent, having booked him in for an appointment that evening. At 5.20pm we received a call from Claire, who warrants a special mention as the self-important 'head receptionist' who apart from being rude and unhelpful refused to send the correct consent order until we had paid for him to be seen again by a vet there. It seems we could have him operated upon, but he wasn't to be permitted a consultation for physiotherapy! Given the time of the return call (5 hours after we had first made the request) there was in any event nobody available at Arundells to see him in time, anyway. Now dealing with the fallout of this encounter, further exploration has shown up a previously undiagnosed issue which we are trying to address - at another vet. All of this is a great shame as we have the utmost respect for the senior vet in this practice, but we would certainly not go back there.

I can't say enough good things about the vet who operates this business: Geoffrey Smith, MRCVS -but…read morelet me try! His business is small and run out of a house (that I assume is also his home). He is the only vet there and so you get his full and personal attention (he did take a brief vacation last year when he had a young lady take his place - and she was wonderful too!). Indeed you could imagine a British TV show about this man and his business. Oh wait a minute - that was done already back in the day (1978-1990): "All Creatures Great and Small" The surgery itself comprises a waiting area and his office/surgery. We LOVE the personal service that he gives, so does our beloved little guy "Ricky Martin" our 6 year old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix born (and dumped roadside) in Houston, TX - thank goodness we found each other!! The occurrence that comes to mind is about 6 months ago when little Ricky (on an extended leash while walking with me) was attacked with no warning by a ferocious German Shepherd (Alsatian) which the owner was allowing to run free (forbidden in the UK) - yes I later found the address of the thoughtless owner, reported him to the police and now he has to keep the dangerous dog on a leash with a muzzle or he will go to prison. However, Ricky was bleeding and we got him immediately to the Doc who calmed him, shaved the area of the bite, studied and informed us that had the bite been 1/4 inch deeper or 1/4 inch to the left the carotid artery would have been severed and he would have bled out on the spot. He explained everything to us, advised why he was NOT going to use stitches, gave us painkillers for the little guy and antibiotics. Follow up a week later and all has been well since he pretty much fully recovered a month or so later. Poor little Ricky will not walk with me through those areas where he was attacked - his memory remains, as does ours of this wonderful, caring vet Two big thumbs up and one little paw up!
