After issues over treatment of three different dogs over 3 years we have finally left this practice. The first problem concerned a bad mis-diagnosis in 2017 of my elderly mother's dog on which she doted. Arundells' vet insisted that her problems were related to a build-up of fatty tissue and NOT cancer, as we had suspected. After a subsequent and very expensive MRI scanning procedure at another vet, our fears were shown to be accurate and the dog was finally put to sleep. Our own precious retriever/spaniel cross became ill one night and we had to take him into Bennetthorpe in the early hours of the morning to see what was to be done. I am sure that nothing could have been done to save him, he was 13yrs old, but we felt that over £600 in less than 6 hours was a fairly hefty fee to pick up a dead body. This week our latest and final problem has occurred with our Labrador puppy who has been registered here since June 2019 when we got him at 10 weeks old. It may have been difficult to spot a hip issue at his early health-check and attendance for immunization, but we had an increasing concern that all was not well. He was subsequently castrated (far too young as we are now told, but we were not advised of this by Arundells at the time or we would certainly have re-thought the action). Recently, the arrogance and unhelpful behavior of Arundells' staff was highlighted when we attempted to have them sign off on our Labrador puppy's planned visit to a physiotherapist - what ensued was a veritable circus of poor communication and organization. Ahead of the physio visit, we asked for a consent note from the vet who had seen him last. This was agreed to, but the consent order was wrongly sent for him to be operated on and not for physio. We asked for the proper form to be sent, having booked him in for an appointment that evening. At 5.20pm we received a call from Claire, who warrants a special mention as the self-important 'head receptionist' who apart from being rude and unhelpful refused to send the correct consent order until we had paid for him to be seen again by a vet there. It seems we could have him operated upon, but he wasn't to be permitted a consultation for physiotherapy! Given the time of the return call (5 hours after we had first made the request) there was in any event nobody available at Arundells to see him in time, anyway. Now dealing with the fallout of this encounter, further exploration has shown up a previously undiagnosed issue which we are trying to address - at another vet. All of this is a great shame as we have the utmost respect for the senior vet in this practice, but we would certainly not go back there. read more

I love Arundel vets, they've looked after all 3 of our dogs. The staff are great and extremely friendly, appointments always available and go out if their way to help. Would highly recommend to any pet owner. read more

We changed to Arundell vets after poor service from previous vet , it was the best thing we ever did the vets are very kind and caring, Very caring and thoughtful and respectful when we lhad to have one of our cats put to sleep. very good service so far. would recommend to anyone who really cares how their pet is treated. absolutely the best vets in Doncaster. A very personal approach without being pushy, very good with my dogs who I've now transferred over from another practice due to their 'one size fits all' approach, nothing like this with Arundell. Everyone is really friendly too! exactly what you need when dealing with often stressful situations. Very pleased we found Arundell after lots of recommendations from friends. read more

I just do not understand what some of these people are moaning about, we used these vets for many years they used to let people pay by instalments but that many idiots let them down by not paying they had to stop doing this. We moved away from the area now one of my dogs needs an operation the price they are charging here is astronomical so steve is going to do the operation, including travel caravan park charges and op I will be saving over £900.00 so I do not know how they can be called expensive,steve did the same op on one of my dogs a few years ago and she never had any problems afterwards read more

We have been using Arundell Vets for about 2 years now. We have experience nothing other than the best service possible. Steve and all his staff are very professional and kind and will go out of their way to help. We have used other practices in the past and find Arundell Vets very reasonably priced. Have been using this vets for approx 3 years very caring vets and staff. Steve performed excellent orthopedic surgery on my Shitzu as she had a birth defect on her front legs. Had previously been sent to Brighouse by a previous vets for surgery and Steve performed surgery on her other leg at a fraction of the previous cost. Have 3 Shtizu's and wouldn't go anywhere else with my pets. Definitely recommend this vets practice. read more

Avoid this Veterinary Practice at all costs they are a disgrace. They are not even worth 1 star! They left a dog deteriorating for hours after saying they were putting them on a drip to get some fluids in them and give them some antibiotics as they were in a critical state, upon return the fluid bag was handed back still full with none of it administered and the Cannula that they had placed in was broken and of no use so even if they had given the dog the fluids they would not have got into their system anyway. They charge treble the normal cost for everything and the price increases by the minute, they knew what the problem was and kept saying that other work needed carrying out before they would do the operation. The price rose to well over a £1000 and when help was asked for to pay in instalments just to get the dog stabilised they shunned this off, and demanded payment upfront, the Veterinary surgeon argued and slammed the door in our faces. They are a joke of a practice and not professional or compassionate at all. If you want to be ripped off and spoken to like you are inferior then go ahead and use this pathetic excuse of a surgery. The dog has now had the operation and stable but they are not out of the woods yet no thanks to Arundell read more
