Had a bit of a cluster trying to get furniture and things from my recently deceased F-I-L's house, family drama that doesn't need to be part of this review. Needless to say there were several reschedules, equipment changes, and numbers of movers. Through all the BS... Bobby and I kept clear lines of communication and maintained a level of transparency that was a blessing. The day we arrived to do an initial assessment the house in question was just short of a federal disaster area, I called Bobby and flipped script on him and he came through for me. Showed up with 5 guys and what was initially supposed to be just a load operation, became much more. Despite all that, we managed to get all of the items the wife wanted and loaded onto the 26ft truck in 3 hrs. The team was on time, on point, and executed with military precision. I have used A Christian Touch twice. The first time was a pretty decent experience. It was decent enough that I recommended them to my father to use as he was moving to the Charlotte area. In hindsight, that recommendation was incorrect. Let me hit on the first visit first. All in all, the visit and work by their team was good. They did show up late due to "not finding the address on google maps." At the time, I chalked that up as a legit possibility. After my second experience, it is hard not to think back and wonder if that was accurate. The workers did work hard, completed the work in a good amount of time. On to the second experience. I emailed the Owner one month in advance of the unpacking. I reserved 2 guys for 2 hours to unload the truck. After re-evaluating how much needed to be moved, I asked if we could increase the time allotted and the Owner said no problem. The load was a full 26' UHaul truck, it was a lot. The day of the move (3pm appointment), I get a call at 3:05p stating that one of the workers injured himself and that all other crews were in Charlotte. The gentleman stated he would reach out to the other crews to determine when they could get to our location. I asked "so you can't tell me if/when someone may be at our location to help unpack?" The short answer was no. So I waited. 15 minutes...30 minutes, no call back. In the mean time, I reached out to another moving company, seeking an answer to my prayers that someone would be available to help. No luck, but my prayers would be answered. More on that to come. Back to the crap show. My father (70 years old) began to unpack as much as we could since he was paying for the UHaul truck by the day. I called the company back 5 times and called the Owner 3 times. I also emailed and texted multiple times. No response back. They were absolutely ghosting me. To this day, I have not received an email or call back from this company. They cost us well over $150 in additional uhaul expenses, not to mention hiring a better more reputable company (more expensive) to save us a few days later. I hate writing reviews like this and I wouldn't have if someone would have called me back but it became apparent I was being ignored, actually avoided, and that doesn't sit well with me. What a horrible experience. I will start my review by saying that I was referred to A Christian Touch by a friend who had recently moved. She had a good experience with them so naturally, I assumed I would have a similar experience. I emailed the man who I assume is the owner, Frank, at frank@achristiantouch.com and received a call from a man named Bobby the next day. I had such a hard time understanding Bobby on the phone. He mumbled, went silent for minutes at a time, etc. Finally, I was able to schedule help with my move and was told "text me the address" at the end of the conversation. I texted the address, but was asked for it again via email the next day because he claimed to have not received it. No big deal, I sent it again. As we all know, house closings never go as planned and my husband and I found out that our move would be pushed back a week. I first contacted Bobby via text to reschedule the Monday before the Saturday they were originally scheduled to help us with our move. A few days went by with no response, so I emailed Bobby to see if he had received my text. Nothing. Finally, I emailed Frank again. After emailing Frank, I suddenly got a text from Bobby saying "That's fine." This was Thursday evening, two days before they were originally scheduled to come help. The next evening (Friday, the day before they were originally scheduled to help) around 7:30 pm, I receive a call from Bobby to confirm that we were rescheduling. During this phone conversation, he was absolutely incoherent (he sounded drunk). Nevertheless, I decided to stick with them. The morning of our move, I received a text from Bobby at 7:30 am saying that he had forgotten all about us and to call him. At that point, my husband was done with them and said forget it. I texted Bobby back and politely told him not to worry about it and that we no longer needed them. I then emailed Frank to let him know how disappointed we were with their service. A while later, I noticed I had a missed call and a voicemail from an unknown number. It was Frank. The voicemail was NASTY. He basically told me that it was my fault and that I had changed on them last minute. He did not apologize or offer any kind of explanation for the horrible service, he simply pointed fingers at me. My husband was very upset and called him back immediately. Surprise, surprise, no response. He left a polite voicemail explaining the situation AGAIN and asked that Frank call him back to discuss. Nothing. My husband and I were left to to move alone. I am six months pregnant so you can imagine how that was...thank God for good friends who come when you call or we would have been in the rain from 8:00 am to midnight. I apologize for such a long review, but I simply feel that any company that uses the word "Christian" in their company title should live up to a certain reputation and set a certain kind of example. This company and the people who work for it are the perfect example of horrible, disrespectful customer service. THEY STOLE MY SONS WII CONSOLE! They also broke an entire box of expensive dishes, one set which was irreplaceable. This occurred on 8/7/2015. I chose this service based on the name "A Christian Touch". They also had some decent reviews on the Uhaul website. I'm a single mother that moved out of state. I desperately wanted a reputable and honest company to help me. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong one. The 2 men that came to help were nice enough, and also showed up on time. However, they dropped a large load of boxes as they were attempting to strap them onto themselves via supports belts. My friend witnessed this happen. One box clearly stated "fragile". Thus, they broke almost the entire box of dishes...some that were irreplaceable. The worst thing though, is that they would steal my little boy's Wii Console. I've called to speak to them and also left emails through their website, but, no response. I have filed a police report and will be filing other complaints against them. A Christian Touch Services could not have made my more from NC to Northern VA any easier! I was nervous about hiring someone to handle all the entire moving process, but Frank and Brandon made the whole experience easy. They were accommodating to my last minute plans, handled every glass, plate, mirror, and piece of furniture (not a single scratch on any item). Even unexpected challenges like narrow hallways and and door frames didn't slow them down, and I was in my new home and settled so much sooner than I had anticipated. We have had 2 excellent experiences with A Christian Touch Services in Conover, NC. Our most recent experience was on January 31, 2018. We required a move of apartment furnishings to our home along with removal of Christmas lights that were approximately 25 feet up on an outside tree and moving of items within the home. The 2 young men Brandon and AJ were polite, professional and efficient. The ladder they had did not reach the light on the tree and so Brandon rented a ladder in order to get the light down. I could not have asked for better service anywhere. read more

I have never written a negative review on Yelp, but if you need confirmation please see previous reviews by others in 2015 and 2012 that had similar experiences. While initially polite, the movers led by Bobby ended up folding our new mattress in half and then leaving it leaning on its side for over 1.5 hours. The mattress had a permanent bulge afterwards that did not resolve. While Frank O'Keefe, the owner, was initially apologetic and said he would pay towards the purchase of a new one if I would send him pictures, he ultimately stopped answering or returning calls and paid nothing. The movers also tossed boxes marked as fragile on top of others, breaking dishes. During the course of our move, they took several breaks and found other customers needing help in the apartment complex and negotiated further work, switching personnel for other jobs. I wrote a separate check for a tip as requested, but really wish this service was not named, "A Christian Touch"--because the values demonstrated do not fit. read more

I've used them to load and unload my moving van 3 times in 3 years and I've always been happy with the experience, even in the sweltering heat the crew did a good job. I've recommended them to 3 friends who used them to load/unload their rented truck from Uhaul and everyone thought they worked hard and were a reasonable price. The owner took my reservation 3 weeks in advance. Upon calling this guy the entire week of the move, he never once called back. We had to hire another company because this shit was unprofessional, disrespectful, and just an asshole. Never do business with this company. We had issues with the day of moving when they were a few hours late and we no longer needed their services for the full 2 hrs because we did most of the work ourselves. We agreed on a 1 hr refund over the phone, but when I gave an honest review of fair-good services online, instead of a 5-star excellent, I was called and harassed by the manager/employee that agreed to the refund. I found Christian Touch through the Uhaul website when I rented my truck. I arranged for their movers to assist at the loading location and again to unload at our new house. At the time they were scheduled to arrive I got a phone call from one of the employees who said his car was broken down and couldn't make it to the load up location. I made several attempts to contact owner, Frank O'Keefe, but could never reach him nor did he return my calls to offer any assistance or to apologize. I was very disappointed with that. The employee (Thomas) did contact me back and said he would be able to assist at our new house to assist with unloading. Probably the worst moving experience I have ever had. The team seemed very professional and stopped by our apartment well in advance to assess our items prior to the move. We went with the full service move as their rates were very competitive - should have been a red flag for me at a time - too good to be true. The day of the move, they showed up on time but with a truck that to my unexperienced eyes did not appear to be large enough. They estimated w a team of two they would pack the apartment in 6 hours. 10 hours later, I realized that if I did not start helping them pack the apartment we were never going to leave... so I packed with them for the last 3 hours. To make matters worse, the truck was filled to the brim with still about $700 or more of goods (including my dining room table, 4 chairs, all my cleaning supplies, fans, etc left) were left in my apartment. They did not offer to get a larger truck or to get a trailer. They made it to my destination in a timely fashion 1 day later but I only found out when I arrived that they had left behind an art item with very high sentimental value for me that I specifically gave them instructions for packing appropriately and with care. Further, in contacting them after the move for reimbursement for the items that were left behind, my email and a phone call were ignored until in my second email to them a week later I threatened to stop payment to them on my credit card. Overall, the low price was definitely not worth it after the hundreds of dollars of goods I will now have to replace. It was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience all in all and I wouldn't recommend it. read more

They did not cover our furniture with blankets until we requested it (we had 30+ blankets available), they did not pack fragile items on top as labeled, they did not maximize space. As bad as it gets. They showed up an hour late. Then they were so slow it took them over 11 hours to move half of a 2400 sq ft house + garage which was all boxed and ready. They left the rest undone. They left 3 unsecured high pressure gas cylinders bouncing in the back of my truck for the move (careless, unsafe, potentially lethal). Rolled a 100# punching bag in my neighbor's yard and left it. Left cigarette butts and energy drink cans in their yard and ours. Meanwhile, like others have said, if you complain, the owner flat ignores your calls and e-mails. He only left a nasty, un-Christian-like voicemail after I went to the Better Business Bureau. They are "Christian" and "Service" in name only. BEWARE! A Christian Touch arrived late on moving day. I also witnessed one of the guys break my file cabinet and I waited for him to come forward and he never did. I had to call him out before they left. A few days later we sat on the far end of the bed and it fell apart. After looking at the cause, it was never assembled back to together properly. The bed was a brand new expensive piece. They never resolved the matter and now we are forced to move forward legally. We simply want to reiumbursed for their mistakes. read more

I beg you...Stay away from this fruad of a business! They under-charge clients for services. However, in the event damages are incurred during the move, they will not compensate. The move team is sure to arrive unprepared for the task at hand. DO NOT USE ! It started off with a phone call to Frank, the owner, assuring us that we would be taken care of. The workers were an hour and half late. The movers did not bring a dolly or straps. They had no idea had to pack/load our furniture pieces. We had 60 packing blankets and shrink wrap which we had to keep asking them to use. They had no idea how to properly protect or load our furniture. Everything we packed into boxes arrived safely. Items of furniture they loaded were damaged due to poor handling by them. We have a Grandfather clock that we repeatedly ask were they preparing properly which now has $700 worth of damage and a caned chair that has a holde punched into it from packing another chair on top of it. We questioned them on site and were told by the employees that they guaranteed their work and they knew what they were doing. We called Frank repeatedly to no avail. He does not return calls. At this time we have filed with Better Business Bureau, reported him to Hire Helpers, reported him to Pack Rat. Do not use him. He will take advantage of you and deny any responsibility. He still will not respond to our repeated calls and emails. Frank told the Better Business Bureau that he is not responsible for his employees. They are only contract workers. I'm sorry, Frank, you hired them, you paid them, you sent them. You are responsible for their actions. Your website says 100% customer satisfaction. I am not satisfied again, DO NOT USE this company if you value your belongings. read more
