Sebastien Amy at A Plus Childproofing was so incredibly helpful. We have a very tricky staircase in our NYC apartment that I could not for the life of me figure out how to babyproof for our one-year-old, and Sebastien immediately understood the issue and sent me ideas for how to solve it. He was also just so nice about the whole thing. He sent me photos and examples of different setups so I could actually see what he was talking about, You can tell he's seen every weird NYC apartment configuration imaginable! Babyproofing can be surprisingly stressful when you have a space where none of the standard gates seem like they'll work, and Sebastien made the whole thing feel much more manageable. Knowledgeable, responsive, generous with his time- I would absolutely recommend him to any NYC parent! read more

Sebastian was knowledgeable and very friendly. He took us through our whole apartment and showed us what we did and did not need. Didn't try to upsell anything - was very honest about what's necessary and what's a "nice to have." Pricing for our 2BR was super reasonable and he was in and out in under two hours. Supremely recommend! read more

Sebastian was so helpful, especially for us new parents. Our knowledge of baby proofing was very little. He did a whole assessment of our apartment and even did installations that same day! He installed a baby gate, some cabinet locks, and more! He walked us through everything, even different stages of a baby growing and what might be needed later. Highly recommend! read more

Fantastic. Sebastian doesn't just help childproof the apartment, he gives you practical tips on parenting safely. Well worth the price.

We had a fantastic experience with Sebastien. He comes to evaluate your home but what you're really paying for is his experience and foresight. He is not pushy at all and focused on safety with an emphasis on practicality/real life convenience. An hour with him is as much an education on parenting as it is about the risks around the house, which ultimately tie together. He also just has a very kind demeanor and is pleasant to spend the time with. Could not recommend him/A+ Childproofing enough. read more

Agree with all the high praise. Sebastian was really professional and kind. He assessed the apartment, childproofed what was necessary and let us know what wasn't worth childproofing. He installed everything the same day. His pricing was reasonable and transparent. He did an assessment, secured dressers and cabinets, and installed a gate in less than 2 hours. read more

Sebastien is very professional, informative, practical, efficient and effective. I feel this was definitely money well spent and time saved making our home safer for our toddler. It's definitely a great value and reasonable pricing. Sebastien replied promptly and set up a consultation date. He did same day evaluation and installation - all within 2 hours. Clean installation. He even has a neat little dust catcher! I feel much better now that our tv, dresser, and bookcase are secure and will not fall on my child. And no more opening all the kitchen cabinets! Hopefully my daughter will find the kitchen super boring soon. We didn't have to go overboard to childproof our apartment. I would recommend A+ Childproofing. I know if we had to do it ourselves it was not get done so swiftly. read more

Highly recommend! Extremely easy booking process via email only ....Sebestian arrived right on time and was extremely professional and knowledgeable on the baby proofing process. Installed a gate both up and downstairs at my home and quality was far superior than other competitors and best pricing. He also took time to walk through my home and provide an assessment of what i needed free of charge! Will be referring him to my coworkers and friends! read more

Sebastien is fantastic. Super knowledgeable of child safety and potential issues in the home, as well as smart and unobtrusive ways to deal with those issues. He assessed our whole apartment and made the necessary fixes (plus was very pragmatic about what we DIDN'T need, never felt like he was trying to sell us on more work / labor) in no time, quickly and efficiently and with very affordable rates. Sebastien is friendly, professional, had all the tools and equipment at the ready, and could move heavy dressers to secure into the wall without needing help from us. Plus he wore a mask the whole time and was very COVID conscious. Highly recommend him and A+ for any babyproofing needs. read more

I am so happy that we decided to work with Sebastien to childproof our apartment. He is a wealth of information on keeping munchkins safe, and he really helps you formulate and implement a practical, tailor-made plan for any adjustments to make your home. I was amazed by some of the tricks he had to make our living room safer - I thought it was going to be much more of a headache than it was with his help. I also really appreciated his philosophy on helping kids learn about safety. He worked efficiently, cleanly, and at no point did I feel that he was trying to upsell us on anything. He's also very friendly and warm with a great sense of humor. Strongly recommend working with him! read more

Sebastian was nothing short of brilliant! When you first contact him and don't give him a lot of information before setting up the appointment, your first thought is, "How does he know what to bring? He hasn't even stepped into my place? (although an initial assessment is an option)". But he just gets it! Some things are no-brainers; child proof drawers, sockets, and gate off certain sections while doing other things you haven't thought of; securing the free-standing flat screen tv to securing cabinets to your wall. Before doing all this, he'll do a proper walkthrough and feel out your comfort level. Sebastian is also practical. He's not one of these folks who comes in to scare the hell out of you! I imagined he would walk through our place and start ranting, "You will KILL your child if you don't do this, and do that"--even for the sake of gaining extra dollars in his pocket. When I asked him about the bathrooms which I was concerned about (toilet for example), although he still secured the cabinets, he simply said, "No need to secure the toilet. Just make sure the doors are closed at all times." When I showed him our kitchen that has a step up, he simply asked, "Can your son crawl up and drag himself down carefully?...Good, then no gate. Why waste money and an extra step?" Think all this comes from not just his own professional experience, but his experience as a father of two which he was forthcoming about. Best part is he does everything himself with such ease and perfection; drills, measures, and installs. The amount he did in 2 hours, would've taken me all day, not to mention I would've easily botched a few things up. I'm not the perfectionist he is. He was worth every New York penny! read more

We had a great experience with Seb. He was very risk-based in his assessment helping us identify the highest risks and also suggesting behavioral patterns to mitigate those risks. He was also cost effective and fast. read more

Sebastien is professional and knowledgeable. I just received his babyproofing services the other day and was very pleased. I wouldn't put up a review if he is only so-so but I think he deserves more reviews so that others know he's legit. Few key things that others may not have touched on: 1) he doesn't push you to do a bunch of unnecessary things, he would recommend what's needed and tell you if something isn't really necessary and if you don't get something he recommends it won't hurt his feelings 2) no scare tactics from him, he tells you the facts when you gives you the assessment and you take it at face value. he won't scare you into doing something for money *3) he gets booked a month in advance (as of this write-up) so plan ahead or look elsewhere and you won't hurt his feelings if you don't go with him because you need something faster - everyone's got their own agendas and it's only business at the end of the day. He runs a good business, does everything himself and is very responsive on e-mail. Good luck to you and good luck to Sebastien! read more

Sebastien is phenomenal at assessing the biggest risks in a home and providing cost-effective remedies. We are thrilled with his work.

Sebastián went above and beyond when it came to assessing our home's safety needs for our 14 month old and truly educating me on true dangers and how toddlers learn certain behaviors. Would recommend to anyone! read more

Great job- quick and easy. And he doesn't try to upsell you (in fact it's the opposite- I wanted him to do more and he explained why certain things didn't make sense). read more

I am unable to leave a review because Sebastien NEVER SHOWED UP. Hence leaving my child in harms way. After several emails(he refused to speak on the phone) we finally locked in a date. After booking an installation date 2 months prior(claiming that was his only availability) he canceled the day before. We rescheduled only to have him not show up at all, call, explain or apologize. I suppose one would be to be remorseful to say sorry. I have never written a review either positive or negative for anything, and normally would simple say good riddance and spend my $ on people and services worthy of it. But this man(monster) is putting children in great danger and needs to be held accountable or both his actions and inactions. Really SHAMEFUL of you SEBASTIEN. read more

Sebastien is fabulous!! Very thorough, informative assessment and then quick, thorough and perfectly executed installation. It was wonderful to learn from him, save the hours and hours it would have taken us to do it ourselves, and to have it done better than we ever could have. Prices are also very reasonable! read more

Sebastien was professional, courteous, and did a great job evaluating and babyproofing our apartment. I'd highly recommend him in general, and especially for parents in the same situation as ours - new parents, not sure what to do to childproof our apartment, and a little nervous that we'd miss something obvious. read more
