Kennedy Park which is right outside our wedding venue, Villa Woodbine, since 1978. It's open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and he sells small ($3.50), medium ($5), or large ($7) frosted lemonades, cherry lemonades, or piña coladas along with hot dogs. Came across this truck years ago after a bike ride through the park and we stopped to get a refreshing lemonade slushy. So when my gal pal Diandra took me to AC Icees, all my childhood memories rushed right back! I'm told that this truck has been around for 15+ years, so locals have grown up with AC's frozen lemonade. I've been coming here since I was a kid...so every time I'm cruising down South Bayshore Drive, and pass the park, I have to make a U-turn to get a sweet, cold treat. Why 4 stars? Because it was absolutely delicious, but I just don't understand the rudeness. --- --- --- This kind of place is so up my alley. I love frozen sugar with all of my being, and this was no exception. Cassie G was gracious enough to drop Blue A and I off here, so that we could grab ourselves a cup-o-goodness. There was no parking available nearby, so she pretended she was at the airport and just circled until we were ready. As I mentioned - it was everything I could have hoped it would be. Sugary, a little tangy and the perfect, thick icee texture. Absolute heaven from first bite to last. So why not 5 stars? Because as long as I live, I will never understand how in the world someone in the customer service business, would ever just be outwardly rude to a customer. As we walked up to the truck, there wasn't a line, so we were immediately faced with having to make a decision. We went with two original lemon icee's, and then Blue asked if it was cash only. The guy in the truck (not sure if it was the owner) rudely states: "Yep..... that IS why the sign says." We glance around to try to find the sign, and it turns out it's quite small and not exactly in plain sight. He then hands us our icee's and mutters something else with an unpleasant tone, as if we were inconveniencing him with our presence. I get it... he's probably sold 5,000 of those icee's, and been asked if they are cash only at least 1,000 times. So maybe it's time to make the sign bigger, first of all? But secondly, your job is to be nice... or at least cordial with customers. We were standing outside the truck for all of 45 seconds - would it have killed him to put on a fake smile and curse us under his breath as we walked away? I'm not sure if all the 5 star reviews of A.C.'s Icees are mostly based on childhood memories and nostalgia since A.C.'s Icees has been here since the late 70s or what the case may be, but for me trying this place for the first time recently, I give it 3 stars at most for "A-OK". I was at the nearby dog park with a furry friend on a very hot Saturday afternoon and decided to come to A.C.'s Icees afterward for a frozen lemonade since I'd heard and read so much about it. There were 3 or 4 others in line ahead of me, but it moved along relatively quickly. I ordered a medium frozen lemonade which was $5 - more or less in line with the price of the pre-manufactured frozen lemonade one can find on the beach. I also got a hot dog, which was $3. I'm not sure if the hot dogs need to be heated once one orders them, but it did take a few minutes between the time I ordered my dog and the time the guy asked what I wanted on it (he had the time to check his tablet and phone while it was heating) . Once I got my food and drink, I went to a nearby bench to have a seat and enjoy them. I bit into the hot dog, and wow - really, REALLY salty. I then tried the frozen lemondade, and as Patrick L states, I was overwhelmed with how sweet and packed with sugar it was. I'm someone who loves candy and chocolates and normally always has a fountain soda with lunch so I'm not unused to sugary drinks, but the frozen lemonade I had on this day was overwhelmingly sweet, to the point where I could feel the layer of sugar coating my teeth. To be frank, I didn't find the drink refreshing or thirst quenching. The one positive comment I'd make is that, unlike the mass manufactured frozen lemonade drinks one can buy on the beach, or even many slushy drinks once can buy in retail stores where one quickly sucks all the flavor out with the straw and is then left with only a cup of white, tasteless ice, here at A.C.'s Icees, the drinks retain their flavor and color from the time you start drinking them until you slurp up the last bits of frozen liquid at the bottom of the cup. read more

You need to find a place that is easy to access and attracts a steady amount of visitors, and A.C.'s Icee's at Kennedy Park is a perfect example of a simple concept that has become a Miami icon due to quality of service, price, and most importantly location. When my friend who was out of town told me I needed to try an A.C. Icee, I automatically said, "Icee! We should just go to 7-11!" It was the ideal amount of sugar, and it felt so good to down one after having a one hour workout at the park.
