Even though Tom couldn't originate the loan, he walked me through the process and tried to look up a few other lenders that would be able to assist. So while I didn't go through an actual loan process with Zenith, knowing he wasn't going to make any money off me and still spending 25 min on the phone was pretty incredible. You don't get that with the bigger loan firms. Judging by the other reviews I'm guessing people that did get loans had pretty good experiences as well so I'd strongly recommend Tom.

We have been working with Aslan Home Lending Corporation once on the purchase of the property sold…read moreby Berkshire Hathaway. Andy Inhelder was the loan officer and Mandy Straw was the processor. Be very careful when you work with Andy Inhelder and Mandy Straw, double check literally every document they send you to sign. Confirm every word Andy Inhelder and Mandy Straw are telling you. Push and follow every deadline. We almost bought a $500K single family residence sold by Aslan Home Lending Corporation which is in fact a $200K detached prefab condo without land within PUD. We were lucky to exit the deal 2 days before the closing after extensive talks with the County, attorneys, lender, title, appraisal and seller. Because of the hard arguing with the seller and lender - they agreed to terminate the deal and return our earnest money. And Tom was Andy Inhelder and Mandy Straw with such a situation, no issues or sorry from their end. Just like a normal routine from them. Also Mandy Straw has ordered and we as buyers have paid $850 for the fake appraisal report which was made for non-existing property. Don't believe that such magic can happen? Just check yourself The Village at Spruce Hill at https://thevillageatsprucehill.com/ and one of their condos at https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/84-Sun-Rock-Dr-B-Fairplay-CO-80440/2055963945_zpid/. You may research this property yourself (just go to GIS Mapping at Park County website or call them) or ask your agent. I'd put a 0 stars rating for Aslan Home Lending Corporation and both Andy Inhelder and Mandy Straw if possible because they knew that they were selling to us non-existing property from the day 1, they knew that the property has no land and its value is MUCH lower than we are paying. They know that today, but still are selling non-existing property to the new buyers. Shame and disgrace. Wow!

Well, we got a home loan... that's where the positive ends and justification for one star, though…read morezero stars isn't an option. Being first time homebuyers, Catalyst Lending was recommended to us by an agent and everything that Julie Marquis and Steve Perez told us pointed to a fairly easy process. With 45 days to closing we came to count on a late afternoon phone call every two or three days with a request for additional documentation which always seemed as though it had been missed, an increase in the cash to close based on "new" calculations, or some other hoop that we had to jump through. For the last ten days prior to the closing we had to reach out to Steve or Julie for updates and consistently got conflicting information about what was actually happening, what was needed from us, and whether we were going to be able to close on time. They routinely blamed HUD, the builder, and the seller's agent for issues that should have been handled proactively and were instead left for the last minute. The kicker was the evening before our 9am closing Julie called to tell us that we needed to bring an additional $3k to closing. When we told her we didn't have that money she replied "we have your bank statements, we know you have it." At this point we told her she could communicate only with our agent moving forward. Our agent, in dealing with Julie, was told that Catalyst knew we had the money and if spending it to close meant we'd have to go without gas or groceries that she'd give us a King Soopers gift card. Yes, this was actually her suggestion. On top of this, when we did iron out the details of the additional cash to close, Catalyst was late to actually fund the loan and delayed our closing by almost two hours. The seller walked away only to have to come back and you can imagine the stress this created. If you're looking for a mortgage brokerage who employs hapless, insulting, and rude staff; will require you to manage a very complex process from start to finish; treats their customers as a commodity rather than human beings; and turn what should be a milestone into a nightmare you should definitely work with Catalyst Lending. For anyone who desires a different experience run as fast as you can in a another direction.
