My dog Albie loves coming here, and I couldn't be happier with the care he gets! The staff are so friendly, attentive, and genuinely love every dog that walks through the door. The facility is always spotless and so well maintained, which gives me total peace of mind. I also love that they send picture updates throughout the day! It's the best seeing Albie having so much fun with his friends! The dogs are never just locked away; they get tons of playtime, socialization, and attention. Albie always comes home happy, tired, and clearly well loved. If you're looking for a clean, caring, and trustworthy place for your pup, A Bark Idea is the best there is!

Oso's first day of puppy school!

Five stars does not adequately communicate how special A Bark Idea is! We have been taking our giant breed, nine-month old, 100 lb. Leonberger puppy, Oso, here since he was three months old. It was so important to us that we find a place that would teach him not only the best manners, but love him as much as we do. Cami, Justin, Kelsey, Alyssa and the gang are truly our extended family. They care for Oso and all the boo's like they are their own fur babies. From boarding to bath time and all the puppy school training - we would be lost without them. We adore that every day Oso is with them - we get photo updates on how the day is going - and video examples on how to reinforce the training that they worked on at home. As a big dog family it was so important to us that Oso learn not only socialization skills with other dogs (especially smaller breeds - which is basically all of them :) - but also customized training. A Bark Idea's positive reinforcement approach to training ensures that trust is established early on in addition to the creation of a safe space. And bonus points that Oso comes home tired and ready for snoozles - which is huge during the puppy phase where the "witching hour" is real :) We heart A Bark Idea!

My daughter has a service dog (Lola) that isn't able to go to school with her. She still has a LOT of puppy energy and gets bored and anxious when she isn't working. She also LOVES other dogs and missed the daily interaction of her classmates at the training ranch where she did her SD completion. By the time my daughter would end her days at school, Lola would be unfocused, would heighten my daughter and they'd BOTH be disregulated and anxious. A Bark Idea has been a godsend! Lola loves the ENTIRE team! Being a service dog, it is important to us that Lola has close eyes on her and is not in an environment that derails her teaching. A Bark Idea delivers that above and beyond our expectations. I receive updates every day on how she is doing with frameworthy photos accompanying them. Every time I pick Lola up, she's happy, calm and ready to work. It's a much better pairing with my daughter. Finally, I love the idea there is a big part of Lola's life that is JUST for her. I think we all need that. Dogs are no exception. Her relationships with the team and her daycare buddies are SO important to all of us. My ONLY complaint is that we can no longer drive down Artesia in silence. Lola will now howl if we pass A Bark Idea and it isn't a daycare day. :oP A+++

This place is gold. Kelsey and Cami (and Justin and literally all of their staff) are amazing. So knowledgeable and kind - their positive reinforcement training approach really works. I have a super high energy puppy that I really struggled with - a GSP/Weimaraner/Doberman mix - he has a mind of his own and more energy than a toddler on a sugar high. I had *almost* given up hope when I started him here for training. They have worked with me (and him) to get to a place where I can actually enjoy him. No more stressful days thinking "what do I even do with him?" He's been with them for training, daycare and some boarding since February and the difference is quite literally night and day. He is such a gentleman now. They are phenomenal. He is always SO happy to see his friends there, he can't get out of the car fast enough! I tried another well known, local training place first and that was a huge mistake. I tell everyone I know...start here!!!! You will NOT be disappointed!

We LOVE A Bark Idea!! My puppy Archie did training for the last few months and it quickly became his FAVORITE PLACE EVER!! Cami and Kelsey (along with the whole staff) are so sweet and caring. I highly recommend A Bark Idea for training, daycare and boarding.

We absolutely love this place for our girl Avery, I love the training tips that are provided to, work with her at home. I love the updates and how she's doing. It makes me feel more comfortable knowing she safe and the staff love there job :) If you looking for a puppy school this is the best spot.

A Bark Idea has been such a fun place for our new puppy! The socialization, play time and just overall care they give to each dog is amazing and comforting when you're away from your puppy for the first time. Bonnie always comes home happy and tired (in the best way!) from her day at daycare. Cami runs an amazing safe space for dogs. I can't recommend A Bark Idea enough. Your dog will truly grow and evolve from their time spent there. They also send the best photos with their updates!!

We feel so lucky to have found A Bark Idea! Our 9 month old pup, Daisy, started when she was about 4 months old and A Bark Idea quickly became her second family. Their whole staff (Cami, Justin, Kelsey + more) are all so kind & knowledgeable and it's a huge comfort knowing Daisy is always SO excited when we pull up for daycare in the mornings. I highly recommend their Happy Puppy School which helped us build up Daisy's skills from simple commands (sit, stay, come, down, go to your bed, etc) to learning how to handle everyday situations at home (jumping, counter surfing, learning to not be afraid of the dishwasher or what to do when guests come to the front door). Lately, we've been so thankful that they've continued to help us work with her leash training and overcome some sound anxiety/stimulation. As first-time puppy parents, A Bark Idea is always willing to help us learn how to communicate with Daisy and read her body language - this has been particularly challenging as Daisy is more anxious/fearful out in the world and is not something we've dealt with before. A Bark Idea has been the best partner to lean on in making sure Daisy grows into a happy, well-mannered, & comfortable dog! Can't recommend A Bark Idea enough!!

I cannot think of a better place for puppy training & daycare. We recently rescued a puppy and were in desperate need of some direction. Cami & Kelsey have made the whole process so much better. Not only do they treat our puppy like one of their own, they also help me with changing some of my habits to help create a confident puppy. Our puppy is half Belgian Malinois & half husky- two very smart high energy breeds that need a lot of work. Once we found this out through her DNA test it helped to understand her breed needs. Cami & Kelsey continue to teach me so much about training & setting her up for success. I am so incredibly grateful for everyone at A Bark Idea & for taking such good care of our pup!

I've had dogs before, but never a puppy. Within the first 24 hours of my puppy Ollie arriving home, I started to question my decision to get a puppy. I searched online for any resources that could help me and stumbled upon A Bark Idea. Kelsey was quick to respond and provide some helpful tips before we could get Ollie in for some Board and Train. A Bark Idea uses "pawsitive" reinforcement training -- no ecollars or prongs here! After two weeks, Ollie came home adjusting well to his crate, potty trained, and knew all his basic commands (Sit, Come, Place, Stay). Since his first Board and Train, Ollie has gone back for Boarding, Daycare, and even MORE board and train sessions. Now our Board and Train sessions are completely customized focused on areas Ollie needs some help with. Case in point-- Ollie is now 7 months of teenage fluff. He's been regressing a bit at home and really trying to push boundaries and house rules. He's also suffered from extreme anxiety in the car (we've had several vomit, pee, poo incidents driven his anxiety). Kelsey and Cami were able to help Ollie so much that today, Ollie no longer drools in the car. He literally chills in his seat, calm, focused, and follows all commands (even gives me high fives!). At home, Ollie's become more confident. He now wanders to his playpen and entertains himself, when I'm busy. He's following commands again and just seems like a much more well adjusted puppy. literally not the same puppy I dropped off-- it's been 4 days and he's still the most polite little boy :) A Bark Idea is such a great place-- Ollie loves it so much, he rushes in without looking back at me... ever. He's made lots of friends and it helps me to know that he's in such a safe and loving environment under Cami and Kelsey's care. Added bonus-- all the cute photos and videos of your pup's day :) If you're looking to help you puppy grow to be a healthy, happy, confident pup, you need to check out A Bark Idea!

    Happy pup!

My pup Oyster started going to puppy school when he was about 3 months old, and since then I have seen him grow into such a confident, outgoing dog! A Bark Idea is his absolute favorite place in the world and when I drop him off, he excitedly heads right in without even looking back! He loves it so much, that I've boarded him several times as well and I always feel safe and secure knowing he's being cared for so well. Cami and Kelsey love my pup like their own, and it shows with how happy he is every time he's there. Not only does he learn so much during his time at puppy school, but he is also able to safely play and receive stimulation. And a huge bonus--I always get sent the most adorable photos and videos of my pup, as well as tips on how to implement this training at home! They are truly the best part of my day while he's away. I'm so thankful I took a chance on A Bark Idea! Their personal touch and genuine love & care truly sets them apart, and they're more than just a doggy daycare. They're family! Oyster and I love you all dearly!

We love everything about A Bark Idea! Our golden retriever loves going to stay overnight at A Bark Idea - Cami and her team are simply amazing!!! Our dog has so much fun and we love seeing his adventures with the awesome photos they text us during his stay! Our dog comes back with better training and listening skills than when he goes in - I think he might like it better there than at home, truly! It brings me so much peace of mind knowing that he gets to run freely with other dogs all day, play with the sweetest humans ever, learn good behaviors, and sleep freely with a human like he would at home! This place is absolutely the best boarding and training place I've ever heard of and I recommend it to everyone. I cannot say enough how amazing they are. 5+++ stars! We love you guys!!!

I cannot recommend A Bark Idea enough. When you choose a business to help train your puppy, you want to find trainers that will love your pup just as much as you and this is that place. Cami, Kelsey, and Justin have so much love and compassion for these dogs and it shows. Even before my pup started at Happy Puppy School, I had an open line of communication with A Bark Idea while I was crate training, which almost broke me, but they helped me through it and helped me with my confidence that I was doing the right thing and it would get better each day. AND IT DID! I chose to put my puppy in Happy Puppy School and it was so worth it. I chose the 24 lessons package and each day, I received a video message of what they worked on each day so I could practice with my pup. You really have to understand that the work they do with your dog at school, you have to come home and practice with your dog because they need to learn to listen to you too. The socialization that the puppies get at school is so important, not to mention, the amount of energy they expend all day makes it easier at the end of the day for you! Once my dog was done with his training, I purchased the day care package and take him at least once a week. He has the best time and comes home pooped out. A Bark Idea are our family now and I truly feel like it was the best decision for me and my puppy!

Like any parent and dog owner, we were heartbroken and overwhelmed, not knowing how to move forward safely. After reading so many incredible reviews about Brian across different forums, we decided to reach out--and I'm so grateful we did. Brian helped us understand Hudson (our dog) on a completely different level. He took the time to explain the fears and anxiety driving Hudson's behavior and gave us practical tools to help him feel more secure and confident. Instead of just addressing the behavior itself, Brian helped us see what Hudson was experiencing and how to support him in a way that actually works. Over time, we've seen such meaningful progress. Most importantly, I now feel so much more comfortable and confident with my daughter interacting with Hudson. That peace of mind is something I truly can't put into words. If you're dealing with a challenging or scary situation with your dog, I can't recommend Brian highly enough. His knowledge, patience, and ability to help both dogs and owners understand each other is truly remarkable. We're incredibly grateful we found him.

He is deeply knowledgeable, his approach is thoughtful, and he truly speaks dog. Brian has worked with an incredible range of dogs and behavior challenges, and it shows. No matter the question or concern, he always had clear, grounded guidance that made sense and actually helped. Brian came highly recommended by our trusted vet, and finding him changed everything for our family. When our Miko turned 8 months old last summer, she suddenly began attacking her brother Rufus with no provocation (no food, toys, or attention) and developed territorial behaviors at home. Up until that point, they were best friends, with Rufus patiently playing with her and teaching her dog manners. It was terrifying and heartbreaking, and at our lowest point, we even had to confront the possibility of re-homing Miko after losing our other dog, Luna, suddenly during her spay surgery last year. Since then, my husband and I have been training and exercising them religiously, spending 3-5 hours a day between the two of us, and Brian was there every step of the way. He was endlessly encouraging and validating, especially on the hard days, helping us stay grounded and hopeful when things felt overwhelming. What truly sets Brian apart is how much he genuinely cares and his extensive experience with dog training. He has always been incredibly generous with his time, offering phone consultations during training and even long after sessions ended. You never feel rushed, judged, or dismissed, just fully supported. We're beyond grateful to say that Miko has now reached 6 months with zero aggression, and the two of my dogs play together again both inside and outside of our home. If you're struggling, losing hope, or just want someone who truly understands dogs in your corner, Brian is the real deal.

I think the most important thing built though was the potty training and the socialization provided. Puppies NEED early socialization to develop into confident and friendly dogs. We have happy to see our puppy grow (and still growing) into a friendly, brave "teenager" puppy. Friendly play style! A Doberman is a high energy and demanding dog breed. Normally I would train our puppy fully on my own as I did with prior Dobermans I had in the past, but due to demanding work hours and obligations, I am so grateful for the opportunity The Puppy Academy provided during these critical socialization and learning periods. They train and interact with the puppy all day until I pick him up after work. Then I can continue with following their training methods throughout our time at home and on the weekends. It made it so easy! I wish I had the Puppy Academy all along for my prior dogs too. I'm impressed with the friendly staff and how well they did with our puppy! Even though our puppy has completed the program and graduated, we have still seen ease with the teenager/adolescent phase and training on our own again because of all the Puppy Academy set up for us. During that visit, Justine explained the Gold Lifetime program ($1,895) and said she would come to my home about every 2-3 weeks for continued training. Based on that explanation, I decided to purchase the program. However, the first session under the program lasted only about 30 minutes. When I asked about the next visit, Justine said future sessions would be done through FaceTime instead of in-home training. During the initial lesson, I clearly explained that Happy does not pull on the leash. Despite this, Justine brought a metal collar designed to prevent pulling and tried to put it on Happy, which was confusing and disappointing. I also explained that because Happy is a small dog, I wanted to learn proper heel training so he could walk safely beside me. Instead, Justine said it was fine for him to walk behind me. I do not feel this is safe for a small dog, as he could easily pick something up from the ground or encounter larger dogs from behind. As a result, I paid $1,895 but received only one 30-minute in-person session. My request for a partial refund or reassignment to another trainer was denied. I am sharing this experience so that other customers can fully understand the training approach and contract terms before committing. Clarification: The three-hour visit mentioned by the trainer, Justine, refers to the separate $300 initial lesson, which I paid for in advance and which actually lasted about 2.5 hours. The first session under the $1,895 Gold Lifetime program lasted about 30 minutes. Update: The owner responded claiming I "refused to book lessons." Attached are text screenshots proving the opposite. When I requested in-person visits every 2 weeks, the trainer replied: "I don't work that way" and offered only FaceTime instead. I did not refuse -- the trainer refused to provide the service I paid for.

Beans started the program at just 4 months old as an Australian cattle mix with *insane* amounts of energy, nipping behavior, and some early signs of separation anxiety, so we knew we needed the right structure and guidance early on. We enrolled him in their 12-week program with the goal of getting him flight-ready, and the transformation has been amazing. Within just a few weeks, Beans had locked in all of his core commands, and he was crate trained within the first week. They also helped us work through his separation anxiety, which has made such a difference in his confidence and our day-to-day life. The structure and consistency of the program made an immediate and lasting impact. What really stood out, though, is how thoughtful and personalized their approach is. They didn't just train Beans -- they trained *us* in a way that fits seamlessly into our lifestyle and how we want to enjoy life with our dog. They truly understood his herding instincts and gave him the right outlets and structure to meet those needs. On top of that, he learned all the right social cues and now plays incredibly well with other dogs. The biggest highlight? People constantly tell us they've never seen such a high-energy puppy be so obedient. That's a direct reflection of the foundation LoveUrK9 built with him. We're so grateful to the team for setting Beans up to truly thrive -- to be the funny, goofy, smart, and driven dog he naturally is, while also giving him the structure he needs to be such a good boy. TLDR: best dog school in South Bay Los Angeles, best money ever spent…read more I spent a ton of time, money, and resources going to three dog schools so that whoever reading this doesn't have to. Let me tell you guys something Love Ur k9 is literally the best dog school in South Bay Los Angeles. Before this, I tried one school that's a franchise chain where they don't allow you to say "no" to correct bad behaviors which does not work. I also went to a behaviorist who was very good but some unrealistic expectations for dog human coexistence. I was desperate as my new puppy was biting us to the point of bleeding and does not listen or walk well. Love Ur K9 the only one that is practical and yields massive positive results. This is the school where you send your dog to the school like a kindergarten and then you pick up your dog at the end of the day and the master trainers will review with you the training that they've done so that you have homework to do at home and train your dog continuously. Everyone here from the owners who are Toya & Kevin to all the employees such as Blake are so competent. Kev is a certified AKC evaluator. They are loving friendly and dog living. In my opinion, loving your dog does not mean letting them do whatever they want, which is like spoiling your kid, and then it will cause him to get into trouble. From this school, my dog has learned to respect humans. Listen to commands sit and walk properly go to place and play well with other dogs. Some nice to haves: Toya Leo provide an in-house class where she will evaluate the situation at home. Under her guidance, we transformed our living space from one that is only catering to our dog and giving her way too much space to one that is more balanced where she has her own room and space and we got our living room back. Toya also hosts free park classes for current informer clients. I believe the quality of a school is reflected in how well-behaved the dogs are in the group classes. This is the only one where every dog is for the most part, attentive and following commands so all the dog parents and dog friends your dog will meet are gonna be top-notch. Also, there's a very cute graduation ceremony and a free training leash Lastly, the training facility shares the same space as our favorite dog daycare center called Down Dog Lodge.
