Because the staff is primarily composed of Caucasian women, they responded as Caucasian women usually do, They did not take the time to impartially investigate the situation in its entirety. My trauma reaction was to refuse to leave the room, so the group session could be continued. So the staff decided to move the session to another room and the Caucasian woman agreed to go. This is another white power structure play, the white power structure will favor those who will play their game of feigned-surrender; meaning because I was refusing to give up my seat to another patient and refused to leave the room - I was deemed the problem. I was so triggered I was unable to request tools to help me to calm down. I have experienced over five decades of white supremacy and was in treatment for a myriad of reasons, one of which was workplace bullying at the hands of Caucasian women, so yeah in that moment I struggled to calm down. Eventually I was asked to leave because I yelled and cussed while speaking with one of the medical site directors. I take full responsibility for my yelling and cussing. I wish I did not raise my voice and cuss because treatment should be a safe space for all. Staff needs to address their racism, which plays out in how they treat clients and respond to crisis situations. My previous post was removed by Yelp because they stated it was not detailed. Well here are the deets!

You may be reading this and thinking this is hyperbole but we brought him in after a speech regression and had our expectations very low. We were expecting a handful of words. After the first speech block he did, we saw miraculous results--phrases and songs and the like. Serious grab the Kleenex stuff. Since then, we have only seen greater milestones passed, funny moments of commenting and describing, and challenging of our son that shows they get him and know what he can say and do. If you have had your kiddo see a speech therapist you know what that means. If you want to engage speech therapists for your child--of any age--from whom you will see significant results and who are smart and tailored in their approach to cracking the code of how your kid operates, look no more. Highest recommendation.

Promised us he would have a couple of words at the conclusion of the therapy. We tried. And failed. Sweeney and Augustin is considered out of network and while they charged us 6K the insurance only counted 1200. Worse, it was considered out of network so even the 1200 simply went against the out of network deductible. This should have been avoided by doing a pre-authorization but something they didn't offer or encourage. They overpromised, hugely overcharged and didn't deliver.

We have been going to NSPT for 2 years now for our 5 year old nonverbal son for Speech & OT. Preauthorizations weren't obtained for 1 month worth of services. We were never made aware of this situation and when we were billed for 1,600 for private pay sessions the woman I spoke to repeatedly cut me off when trying to ask questions, on more than one occasion she told me it was "My responsibility" to know that services were not being covered. I spent HOURS on the phone with insurance, and when being told by BCBS multiple times that claims were never submitted on their end I circled back with the billing dept of NSPT and gave them reference #'s, as well as a call back number to work alongside the woman Ive been working with at BCBS to get this issue resolved - I could not of made it easier. The staff called ONCE, emailed me and told me there was no answer, then proceeded to tell me that our card will be getting charged the FULL AMOUNT this upcoming Monday for those sessions.I am appalled, and absolutely disgusted with how they have handled this matter.....this is personal because no one talks about how much being a special needs family we silently suffer being catapulted into this life of turmoil navigating such difficult obstacles with our children let alone the HARDSHIPS we endure financially getting them the services they rightfully deserve. The treatment we received from Rachel, and Monica has been so impactful for our son and I will miss that most for him......They have been wonderful. However this company needs to make a huge shift in how their billing department is ran, and I hope they know they have not heard the last of me.

Finally, we have found the admin. team to be very understanding and helpful as over our time with them we have switched insurance providers and needed help identifying additional services, etc.

Our meetings were short (15-20 minutes at most) and felt more like a way to bill me rather than provide real support. When the medication he prescribed wasn't working for me, I stopped taking it - but instead of discussing alternative solutions, he threatened to drop me as a client for not informing him first. Rather than working with me to find the right treatment, he made me feel unheard and unsupported. Thankfully, I've since found a real ADHD specialist who actually listens and provides meaningful help--no gimmicks, no pointless conversations, and no pressure. If you're looking for real ADHD care, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. ---- Sent me a bill for 100$ fee after 4 months of no services... with no description of the fee. The first appointment was canceled the day before. Things happen so I rescheduled for another day. During the initial appointment Dr. Rahman was dismissive when I addressed my concerns regarding ADHD treatment and options. She questioned the competence on my therapist and insisted that I was depressed even though I explicitly expressed that I was not. I had no feelings of depression or anxiety. She offered Wellbutrin and I declined. After a long drive to the Evanston Clarity Clinic location for a face to face appointment she reluctantly prescribed me 10mg of Vyvanse. After a week on the medication and doubling the dosage after a few days as she instructed, I had a follow up appointment were I explained how I hadn't noticed any change or experienced any of the previously mentioned side effects. At this time she responded "well maybe you don't have ADHD", and insisted again that I was suffering from depression or anxiety. She did not listen to me at all and showed a lack of consideration for what I was experiencing. I felt like this was a form of discrimination. I decided to see another psychiatric provider who gave me a formal evaluation that confirmed my original diagnosis. I have noticed a significant positive change since receiving proper medication management. It is unfortunate that Dr. Rahman made a diagnosis based on her personal biases without evaluating me herself or even adjusting medication.
