I had a great experience with Atlantic Appliances, Mt. Kisco, N.Y.. From the purchase to the…read moreinstallation of my new microwave oven,(Martin did a great job installing it) it was an easy process.

Pros: Good pricess, knowlegable people in show room…read more Cons: Absolutely incompetent delivery people. The price on the washing machine was fair, but the delivery? Horrendous. They sent two guys who 1) Blocked the entire driveway with their truck so I couldn't pull in when I got home. Plenty of room to park on either the left or the right - no, they blocked the whole thing. When I asked them to move so I could pull my car in, they refused, saying they were "almost done". They weren't almost done, I had to park all the way down the block. 2) Left rust and trash and other garbage all over the driveway - why do this? Just clean it up. 3) DIDN'T INSTALL WASHING MACHINE CORRECTLY, THEY HAD TO COME BACK (which they did, with attitude). They installed the hot water linked to the cold, and vice versa. 4) Drove over the lawn, leaving tire tracks on the property. Why do this? Why not drive to the end of the driveway before making a turn? 5) Assumed that because of the color of our skin (I imagine), we didn't understand Spanish. Said nasty things about the lady of the house and myself. This actually was okay because I got to see their faces turn white when I cursed them out in Spanish and threatened to tell their boss exactly what they said. Absolutely incompetant and rude. Next time around, I'd happily pay more to go somewhere else rather than deal with this brand of nonsense. What a bunch of clowns.

Allmake Appliance Center - Total scam! Charged us for a repair call then disappeared Stay away

My four year old GE refrigerator went down. Called GE but they could not come until the next day. I…read moreshould have accepted that and waited for GE. Instead someone told my wife to call Allmake. Allmake came the same day but said they had to order parts. It took A WEEK AND A HALF for the parts. When the parts were installed for $618 the refrigerator still did not work, instead the refrigerator section turned into a freezer with all foods frozen. We called back and the guy said we needed a different type of fan system. Now we've been waiting for that part for a week. The guy now says that we won't get it until next week. By that time we're three weeks without a working refrigerator. The owner says the parts industry is a leper colony. No parts warehoused in the US. I asked about overnight deliver, and it was like asking for the absurd. I called the dealer where we bought the appliance and they said we should have stayed with the GE service because they may have found parts still under warranty or would have quicker access to parts availability. The dealer also said that these appliances are designed to last about five years and then thrown away. To quote the dealer "We're in a 'Throwaway' economy ". Allmake says not their fault, but I don't know if they're blowing smoke up my butt. He's pissed and I'm pissed. Great business to be in! All I know is that I have no usable refrigerator and don't give a crap about their screwed up supply system. Something very wrong with this whole industry. Obviously the manufacturers are building failures into their digital electronics to make you buy a new one every 4 or 5 years. Then they reduce parts inventory. And we bend over and take it. 5/31/18: Okay, they finally fixed it after 15 days so I'm upping begrudgingly to three stars. The repairman, Ishmael , seems like a nice guy; that's why I'm mellowing. But I think he's numb to all the complaints, so he just stays happy. The owner, Henry, is just as big a pain in the butt as I am. Henry says that there are no regional warehouses for parts. And when they send the part, the Neanderthals from third world countries working in the warehouse screw it up. It seems that the manufacturers want the independent repair guy out of business so that you're forced to buy new units. The repair guys seem to hate the junk that's out there. The prices for parts are inflated, but they have to make a living. Next time anything acts up on an appliance, just toss it to the curb and forget calling a repair guy. No longer worth it. May as well add the exorbitant repair cost and aggravation to a new unit. Sad industry.

Called them to repair our Kenmore front loading washer. Friendly guy came out and in 20 seconds…read moresaid we needed a new door gasket and they would order it. 3 weeks later he returned and installed it. It was not inexpensive. Washer still leaked and they blew off 3 appointments with us. Finally gave up and called in another service. Turns out the leak was from a small hose that came off its fitting-a 5 minute issue but I luckily spotted the fact that the gasket was put on improperly and in fact the rear retaining spring was mangled by Allmake which would have soon resulted in a flood if we had continued using the machine. Had to pay to have the job redone. Stay away from these guys. They are out to make a few quick bucks off unsuspecting consumers while they can. They are perpetuating consumer fraud.

Update /Correction - This is a local family-run business, and both technicians came to repair my…read morewasher because they recognized the urgency. In the end, they fixed the issue and I appreciate that. Before the first visit, I asked if they could assess the likely parts needed in advance so we could avoid multiple trips. They brought one of the two parts, so a second visit was required. I may have been wrong to assume the second part could be brought or purchased ahead of time -- it's possible the technician needed to see the machine first to confirm. For future customers, it might help to carry that control board as a common part (I understand inventory is costly, but it could save time for everyone in cases like mine). There was also a long stretch when I couldn't reach them and didn't know whether they were still coming, which was stressful since I rearranged my schedule and cancelled a GE appointment to support a local business. They later explained they had no cell service in the area, which I now understand. Ultimately, they showed up, fixed the washer, and everything is working properly. My only feedback would be to improve communication during delays to avoid confusion or frustration. In the end, calmer heads prevailed and I appreciate the work they did.

I had been told I should replace the fridge. Appliance Genie sent someone who arrived on time and performed the repair that day at a reasonable cost ! Definitely would recommend 5 stars
