I love a good A&W root beer, and this fast food chain brings back fond memories. I just so happened to order a root beer float on national root beer float day, right after the promotion started, but no one told me. Came in for a root beer float on a hot summer day and got a fabulous one! It was pretty busy, but we easily found seating. The store layout itself is a little odd, but I really didn't mind. Decent experience at A&W while visiting Niagara for the weekend. Love that it's open late and was walking distance from our holiday inn hotel. Had a root beer float in the frosty mug, and the food was hot! Very busy inside and could use some tidying up. Also no one seems to speak English that works there. The sign in the window lured me in with "Shrimp & Fish." I love "popcorn" shrimp and haven't had good ones since the Crab Shack closed on Maple Rd in Amherst. You get 30 shrimp and they're really good. My only quibble is the Heinz cocktail sauce is too sweet. I'm used to something more robust, like Millers. I plan to return but bring my own bottle of Miller's. That will be a real treat! The staff was very nice - made me feel welcome. The decor reminded me of 1950's style fast food, yet they had modern touches like touch-screen ordering. I lived in California for 4 years and A &W was a staple in my life. They definitely have good burgers. The chili fries is my favorite and go to. This location in the falls is clean. I ordered from door dash for pick up. My food was not ready at the assigned time, took about another 15 minutes. I was told only one cook for the day. There were mistakes to my order. But again there burgers are well, fries are delicious. Wish they work on the buns. All our buns fell apart, luckily we had buns at home and had to re-assemble our burgers. I also do love there spicy A&W sauce. Little pricey for the value of food. Didnt hate, but don't love. read more

Was excited to come here for the burgers and a root beer float but was not impressed. Spent $45 for two regular burger combos, a double bacon cheeseburger and a root beer float. Everything tasted just ok, not spectacular. The soda fountain had a no ice and the kid's lemonade tasted like sugar water. No paper towels in the bathroom was also a concern. Service was friendly. Haven't had A&W since we went to Okinawa Japan. For some reason, more A&Ws are located in Okinawa and has more recognitions there instead of here in the main land America. The food was fast and the service was very friendly. I know the restaurant is new but it's been open a few months now and is still very clean. My only gripe is the price. Just like every other fast food place it's very expensive. I ordered a double cheeseburger meal and a fish sandwich meal for my wife and it came to $29 and some change. We literally came here just for root beer floats. Having had these many years ago from other A&W locations, we were disappointed by the root beer float we received. We told them we were dining in, so we could get a frosted mug, like we've done in the past. But when we got our order it was in a paper cup. Then when we tried our drink, there was something off about it. The root beer had no flavor and our float tasted mostly like ice cream. We finished our float and left disappointed. It's actually 4.5 stars ! "Spicy Papa Burgers" were awesome and so were the onion rings and fries. The counter kid needs to work on his root beer float skills but they tasted perfect. It's neat. It's got some nostalgia. You can get a root beer float or you can get a mug or a full meal. They even have cheese curds. It's walkable from the falls - about 10 min - and on a main street that is well lit, if waking at night. The staff were nice and it's well lit. Prices reasonable too. read more

Did not receive what was ordered. Husband asked for a hot dog with toppings and no bun, and was told no problem. We received a plain hot dog with no toppings, just a wrinkled, tough, salty piece of leather in a box. Cheese fries were pretty much a box of "cheese sauce" with just a couple fries and one pebble of chili. Asked for utensils, got back to hotel and there were none in the bag. I am so upset and disappointed at this establishment. Not only did we wait forever and pay way too much, there was glass in my daughter's root beer float!!!! There was one employee that couldn't be bothered and I was so upset about this we left to go get her checked out! The mug was frosted and had icecream on top but when she noticed something hard in her mouth we investigated and saw it was glass from a chipped mug! the one woman employee was so overwhelmed and couldn't care less! This establishment opened just this week and considering that - they're doing very well. The service was great, cashier gave me exactly what I asked for and didn't try to upsell on anything. Place was super busy but everyone seemed to get their food quickly, there was a good mood in the air. Nice atmosphere. Parking might be tough for drivers as it's located in a high traffic tourism area but I'm sure you can use any of the nearby hotel or casino parking lots. As a local I'll keep supporting this place, I'm really hoping that it sticks around. read more

This location is on the New York side of Niagara Falls. It's along a main route to the entertainment areas. We were greeted by a large "No Public Restrooms" sign to set our mood. The ordering was done at a walk-up counter, and taken by a pleasant young lady, who did her best to explain the offerings. We had two kids burgers, two small lemonades, an adult burger, and a root beer float. The bill was far too expensive for the items received. The quality of the food was sub-par throughout. Parking is behind the place, only 4 spots- so you might have to park in the parking lot across the street if those are full. Self-serve soda for refills (pepsi products). We had mushroom swiss with grilled onion burger, chili cheese dog, and chicken tenders. All were dee-lish. Fries had a little extra crunch on them which made them hard to resist. Daughter had the root beer float and was not disappointed. The staff had the root beer float made for her before we even sat down at our table. You can order from one of two kiosks or go up to the counter. You get a number to put on your table and the staff will bring you your food when it's ready. As someone very familiar with A&W Root Beer, I was very pleasantly surprised to hear news of a physical store location opening on the American side of Niagara Falls. I was expecting a DQ Grill & Chill type experience - come for the desserts, but there are burgers and fries available as well. When I entered A&W late after a concert in the area, I was worried at the amount of customers I saw waiting for their food. However, once I placed my order and sat down, the rest of the customers received their orders very quickly. I tried a burger meal, with some phenomenal cheese curds instead of fries. I felt the burger was about average, nothing special, but nothing terrible. The root beer was very fresh, and I was tempted to buy a frosted mug for next time. Because this is such a new place, the interior, bathrooms, tables, and waiting areas are crisp, clean, and modern. The orange, white, and brown color scheme works perfectly. I could see this place filling with a line out the door for tourists passing through the area in the summertime. Because of my fear of a longer wait time, I declined to order any floats, but I would love to try one next time I come in. The service was good and the menu was not overloaded with stuff that will not be ordered. I had Swiss cheese and mushroom melt and it was so good. My Mother and I went into this location on the 16th around 8-9PM and it was out the door busy at this place, the service was very good the staff were extremely friendly despite the mass amount of people in the location.
