Though normally me and my friend go for breakfast, we decided try out the relatively new dinner menu revamp. I had the Barrier Reef Melt with the Clam Chowder as a side. Starting with the Clam Chowder, I unfortunately can't recommend this dish. It tasted too similarly to Campbells Chunky Clam Chowder. It was mostly a potato chowder with the small amount of clams it had. The clams in there weirdly tasted slightly like ham lol. It was only an extra $1.50 to add onto my main and even though it wasn't my favorite, that's a very reasonable add-on price. As for the Barrier Reef Melt, I did enjoy it. Although a slight warning, it is quite small, so this dish would be better suited if your looking for something lighter (Though it is quite rich). Oh and its not a sandwich, it's one piece of ciabatta bread open faced, cut in two. It is under the "Sanga" section in the menu so I'm sure this is a common mistake. At $21.50 ($23 with the chowder) for this plate, I do think it is a bit much for the portion size, but not an unheard of price for a seafood based dish. Overall Boomerangs is a great spot for breakfast or brunch, especially if your on your way down to the West Coast. It is not just Australian themed in name but also has Outback decor around the whole restaurant. Even though I wasn't wowed by my dinner, they have a big menu and I'm sure I'll be back to try more.

Went in expecting a nice evening with my boyfriend, only to have our waitress come up and start tickling and scratching his back in what I found to be a very flirtatious manner. Not exactly the kind of customer service I was expecting, but alright! We decided to leave before our drinks were even made. When my boyfriend informed her we were leaving, she responded, "I haven't even made your guys' drinks yet." I calmly explained that was fine and that I didn't appreciate her touching my partner like that. Rather than acknowledging how inappropriate and uncomfortable the situation was, she responded with a snarky "That's fine, it's on us, bah-bye now!" followed by a nasty little wave. Absolutely baffling behaviour from someone working in customer service. There's a difference between being friendly and being overly familiar with someone's partner, and an even bigger difference between professionalism and outright attitude when a customer expresses discomfort. We didn't even make it to the drinks, let alone the food, but somehow still managed to leave with a bad taste in our mouths. Maybe focus a little less on touching customers and a little more on actually serving them.

Wendy's was the first fast-food place I ever saw offering salads, and now they're the last, because McDonald's and Burger King have stopped offering salads, and I'm not sure that A&W ever did. This location is apparently brand new, and, in line with Wendy's current style in architecture, it's targeted more at selling through the drive through window, although it does at least still have a dining room, although much smaller than the older Wendy's designs. And even though it probably wasn't actually made out of shipping containers, it seems like it's about the right dimensions for that. It also has one of those self-serve drink machines where you can choose a pop, and then choose extras to mix into it. The upside for the customer is a lot more choice in drinks. The downside for the staff is probably having to wrestle a lot more syrup canisters.
