I love this place! I admit, I'm already big fan of A&W, so I practically like all of their locations. This one, however, is located dead-centre in downtown. It's not the... prettiest part of town to say the least, but this location has kept its environment incredibly clean and modern. I love the ambience of the place. The lighting, structure of the room, and even the lit-up menu on your right side as you walk in are all great! I love the food, needless to say. My go-to order is always a papa burger (double patties) with a side of onion rings. $12 after tax, and it keeps you going for at least 5 hours after you're done munching. And the staff are so kind! They're always super nice and welcoming :) Writing this review at 11:30 p.m. is clearly a bad idea, because I'm now craving some A&W! Can't wait to munch on a burger again! read more

I have to start this off by saying the employees and manager are phenomenal. The service is unbelievable and extremely personalized. --- Food --- The burgers always come out hot. Which is amazing. It's hard to find that in fast food. They've gone the more "diner" route. The mama burger is great. Not too much bun. The habanero chicken burger is flavourful and the right amount of heat. The rootbeer float in a frosted mug is the icing on the cake, it makes the meal. --- Service --- Impeccable. I'm actually floored. They're attentive and friendly and happy. How often do you see that? This A&W is brand new, and a great addition to the revitalized Dundas core. The store is very clean and the staff are friendly. You can take a number after ordering, and they will bring your food to your table. The washroom is locked with a code (rightfully so downtown), but the staff will open it for you upon request; the washrooms are also very clean. I always love the onion rings at A&W, they are spiced just perfectly. read more

I really had forgotten how much I like A&W. Specifically the root beer but even the food generally is pretty darn good. To be clear, I made a conscious decision to eat less fast food some time ago and A&W simply too far away to normally considered but all that changed with the recent opening of a location downtown. I've been a few times since it's opened, most recently last night when I found myself downtown with my mom and sons taking in the London Beatles Fest. With few options available, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. For starters, the location is clean, bright and the staff are friendly. If dining in the staff will assign for a number and actually deliver your food once it is ready. The fries and onion rings come bagged in adorable wire mesh baskets and THE ROOT BEER IS SERVED IN FROSTY MUGS! The bill total for all four of us was about $25, which is completely reasonable in my humble opinion. Speaking of opinions, I've longed asserted that Five Guys has the best fast food burgers in London but I will say that A&Ws gave them an honest run at that title. My teen burger was great and at $7 with a fries and drink all but assured a return visit. In closing, while I didn't even realize I missed them, A&W is a welcome addition to what I hope is becoming a renewed downtown core. We need restaurants and options of all types and I hope that this location succeeds and is around for years to come. read more

A&W has been one of those fast food chains that's slowly been growing on me the past few years, and now I find it has a lot more quality than a lot of other fast food restaurants in the same area. Plus, depending on what burger you get, it's probably even tastier than some of them too! read more

While I normally stay away from reviewing fast food chains, hum-drum everyday places that really don't need the attention I find myself unable to not mention the new A&W downtown. After three visits since it has opened I am really in awe at how they are doing it right! First off the decor inside, simple cozy wooden finishes and sleek modern lines makes it inviting to be in. Secondly, the service here is bar none for fast food... they smile (and seem to mean it), they take your name down and if you are eating in they bring it to you, including frosted mugs to drink out of and cute wire baskets for your fries. It totally brings bag childhood memories of the drive-up A&Ws where they would put metal trays on your car doors and bring you onion rings the size of your head. Okay, so the onion rings only got smaller because we got bigger but still, they aren't re-writing the playbook. It's always gonna be the more expensive fast food choice grub albeit presented nicely. Biggest quam is the rotating digital menu. Same issue I have at timmy's and anywhere else that has it. I'd like my menu stationary so I can pick something not flashing images of your new product right when I think I spy something I want then can't remember what it was because it gets taken away from me. Fine with one board being digital with adverts but come on... please leave the main menu visible at all times. read more
