Outside at night.

Heard a lot about this chain from American friends and was excited to hear that they were opening a location in London. I was told that the location's been open for a week and a half. To start with, the restaurant looks great. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by bags of potatoes and a sign that advertises where they're from (somewhere in P.E.I if you're curious). There's lots of seating and it has a nice retro feel. The ordering process wasn't too complicated besides a bit of the terminology ("burger" = two patties, "little burger"= one patty). They don't do "combos" as the fry portions are big enough to split and the drinks are refillable. Getting a few little burgers, a regular portion of fries and a small drink was MORE than enough for two people. The burger was solid. They were the right thickness, allowing some great char from the flattop. The free toppings included some great tasting options like grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. I'd compare the burger to a place like London classic Prince Albert's. They also did the same toppings on their grilled cheeses, something that I don't normally see offered. The fries were awesome. They reminded me a bit of New York Fries with more depth of flavour. Our small fry portion was extremely generous, I actually think there were as many fries in our bag as in our cup. Apparently this is a thing. Ask for them to be "cajun" if you want the full Five Guys experience. I don't normally write about fountain pop but I must say that the Coke Zero at this place was some of the best I've ever tasted. I have no idea if they do something special there. Overall, a great place that South London sorely needs. Ignore the Harveys/DQ/McDonalds/etc in the area and try this out! You won't be disappointed. Edit: I'm looking at the other reviews to see it's not getting love from a vegetarian, someone who doesn't like American Cheese on a Cheeseburger (!!!) and someone concerned about grease/menu options. What were you expecting from a classic burger joint? Let me reiterate with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSvaf7frnxc this place is awesome.

Lots of room, quick service

Review Highlights - Five Guys

I ordered the Bacon Double Cheeseburger and although it was a little pricy at roughly $10 after tax, it was quite filling.

I love this place! I…read moreadmit, I'm already big fan of A&W, so I practically like all of their locations. This one, however, is located dead-centre in downtown. It's not the... prettiest part of town to say the least, but this location has kept its environment incredibly clean and modern. I love the ambience of the place. The lighting, structure of the room, and even the lit-up menu on your right side as you walk in are all great! I love the food, needless to say. My go-to order is always a papa burger (double patties) with a side of onion rings. $12 after tax, and it keeps you going for at least 5 hours after you're done munching. And the staff are so kind! They're always super nice and welcoming :) Writing this review at 11:30 p.m. is clearly a bad idea, because I'm now craving some A&W! Can't wait to munch on a burger again!

I have to start this off by saying the employees and manager are phenomenal. The service is…read moreunbelievable and extremely personalized. --- Food --- The burgers always come out hot. Which is amazing. It's hard to find that in fast food. They've gone the more "diner" route. The mama burger is great. Not too much bun. The habanero chicken burger is flavourful and the right amount of heat. The rootbeer float in a frosted mug is the icing on the cake, it makes the meal. --- Service --- Impeccable. I'm actually floored. They're attentive and friendly and happy. How often do you see that? They rival 5 star restaurants for service. --- Overall --- I will definitely be making this a frequent place to visit.

This is an update to a previous brunch review that had some issues. The manager kindly reached…read moreout and provided a $100 gift card to entice us to give them another try. This time was a dinner for three. We started with a dozen oysters on the half shell that were fresh and delicious. Appreciated that we were notified that they have Happy Hour Tues-Fri 3pm-5pm with 1/2 price oysters. Also had the Fried Smelts which were tasty. Two of us had Craft burgers. This time they did arrive as ordered (last time med rare arrived well done) but they mixed the orders. One was med rare and the other rare. Not nice having to change burgers after each taking a bite. Despite the mix up the juicy burgers and fries were excellent. The other order was the Braised Beef Cheek Birria Grilled Cheese. This was very good but a touch pricey at $28 for what you get. Speaking of price, the craft burger is $24. I asked for a side of mayo for the fries and it arrived promptly. They charged $2 for the mayo which was not mentioned. Considering that our total bill ran $250 it seemed out of place to charge for mayo. One of the best reasons to come to Craft Farmacy is to try craft beers which they rotate regularly. We each enjoyed a beer or two. For desert we ordered their Chai Crème Brûlée and Crack Pie with gelato. Both are highly recommended. We also had glass of sherry that unfortunately was off and had to be sent back. Replaced with a glass of Port. When the bill arrived the sherry was not removed, they did take it out when we caught the mistake. Our meal was much better than the last visit. All of the food was well prepared this time but the little mistakes on burger mixup and sherry on the bill were disappointing. Still if looking for a good burger and a great beer you can do a lot worse than Craft Farmacy.

I…read morewas running errands for work and I say to myself "What the heck is around here that's serving lunch, quickly, yet local?" So I pull up my lil Yelp app and BAM! Helen's Fast Food. It's parking lot is literally attached to the one I'm in (I couldnt see the building ok?). So I drive on over (I actually pulled up the directions on the app, cause I'm like that). This is a cute little spot, not too busy but I see they specialize in good ol' perogies and cabbage rolls. I'm in! I ordered the 10 perogies for $13.99. Yikes, a bit steep. I should have went for the sausage on a bun. More "lunchy" and more affordable. On their take out menu I saw an option for 5 perogies, but it's not on the menu board. This is where this spot loses a star for me, its a bit disorganized in the price/availability. Signs over top of unavailable items, obvious price changes, etc. I feel bad because when she typed in $16.00 I thought, didn't it say $13? But then of course, I forget we are Canadian, and there's tax. I was all "excuse me miss, what the heck?" and then I'm like "OMG my bad!" But she was so nice and explained that she did round up the price by a few cents and offered to give me a pecan butter tart. I politely declined but then I caved in when she offered one more time. Helen, you so sweet girl. Anywho, off to the perogies. I told myself, this would be a nice thing to bring home to the bf for dinner. Cause this is a dinner sized amount of perogies. Well that was before I tried them. Oh HELL these things are amazing. So soft and fluffy yet kind of crispy. A hint of onion in the potato and the bacon it came with? Oh yeah baby. I DEVOURED EVERY SINGLE ONE. ALL 10! I'll just say, my pants were actually tight and the food baby was prominent. It made for a very uncomfortable afternoon at work. But you know what? No regrets, YOLO, and all that. Because it was worth it. I'll happily go back for lunch and get a sausage or hamburger. Maybe even try a cabbage roll! Definitely stop in sometime when your out Lambeth way!
