So we walked up an appetite, and drove to Abbotsford. The parking is ample with the dedicated parking lot and free, (for now), street parking. The restaurant wasn't busy, but by no means was it empty. We were seated close to the bar with a good overall view of the restaurant, which features a window wall into some copper and stainless brewing equipment. It's cool but I don't think it's operational? We waited a bit to be seated, but our drink order was taken by a friendly crew member pretty quickly. I got a west coast ipa and The Boss got a tasteful nude. We ordered our food, a beef dip and the hot honey crispy chicken sandwich both with fries, and waited about 20 minutes. It felt longer than it should have because it wasn't at all busy. The Boss was well pleased with the beef dip and I thoroughly enjoyed my crispy chicken. I do feel the sandwich could/should be just a bit bigger. We really didn't see our server after she took our food order, other than a quick fly by and a "all good?". Wasn't bad service, but it wasn't anything to talk about either. In all, we enjoyed the food and drink, I feel the sandwiches/burgers could be a bit bigger. Was what I expected, no surprises good or bad.

When I went to the one in Abbotsford I ordered from their brunch menu. I ordered their Chicken & Waffles with regular maple syrup and coffee. The coffee was pretty tasteless and made me wish I ordered something else for a drink. The entrée, on the other hand, was enjoyable. The chicken was very scrumptious with plenty of meat on it. The waffles was good, not the best though. The potato tots that came with it were tasty. The maple syrup was flavourful and helped tied everything together. The interior of the place has a very interesting aesthetic to it. They have antiquated arcade games like Street Fighter and Pac-Man in one section of the restaurant. There were also some other activities like board games, a large Jenga set and table curling. The service was decent and found no complaint in their service. My dining experience there was not the best I had at a restaurant; however, I will come back again to try their dinner entrees. I know others will enjoy frequenting at this brewing location.

The waitress was offended I didn't like it. I said it's no big deal. I just wanted to pay and leave. But, she said "I'll pay for it". I was shocked! I said "no it's okay". She just ignored me. The bread halibut and prawns were great, while the fries tasted very good on their own. The tartar sauce was also great and made the seafood taste spectacular. The coleslaw, however, was mildly bland, even if it was free with my entrée. The milkshake was pretty great, with the whip cream flourishing with flavour. So I recommend JoJo's more for their lunches and dinners rather than their breakfasts.

Homemade patty with cheese and bacon but slightly overcooked. Toppings were just right. The gravy was no taste, like none. We kept trying as it looked good but totally lacked flavour. No one came to ask how our meal was, did we need or want any refill of our drinks. Did I mention the restaurant was empty?? Then the bill came and when I asked why we were charged for onion rings when on the menu it shows that it came with onion rings. The server responded "oh that was just a few on top." Would be nice to know that when ordering but getting extra info from her might have been another surcharge. Tip was given although it wasn't really deserving of that much. $56 for these meals are totally overpriced for the lack of quality. This should've been maybe $40 max!! Special mention to our server JJ Esther, a kind, lovely young woman who took good care of us throughout our meal there. Servers like her, plus the delicious food are the reason we keep coming back again and again. As a tip for other diners, Saturday is an extremely busy day, so if you can, pick another quieter day of the week to go there.

Despite it being quite busy, the service was remarkably fast, efficient and friendly! The environment on a Saturday was definitely "pre-party" in that the music was loud (but just under being too loud), the crowd was happy and having fun. I saw at least one round of shooters going by to a table of older folks, lol! If you have an aversion to loud places, try the outdoor seats or maybe wear Loops or other such gear. It is a pub, but kids are allowed until 9pm. As for the food, we just ordered the calamari and the wings (salt & pepper as the hubby can't eat chilies). We were really surprised at how good they both were. The calamari had a thin, crispy coating that wasn't too greasy. The wings were properly and fully cooked without being overcooked.
