best sandwiches i've had at a restaurant. this thing is loaded and for the price it's a great deal! there were a lot of different flavours - sweet, slight spicy, salty and they paired together so well. sandwiches are $14 and include coleslaw or chips. almond rooibos latte was a bit too sweet for me, but the mug was huge and i felt like it took forever to finish. service was uhh idk. interactions with the server was weird (he would always pause for a couple seconds to stare, then talk) maybe he was just a bit slow? and the waiters that walked by stared at us also found weird pamphlets in the washroom that added to the unsettling vibes overall: good to try! but don't think i'll be going back read more

I love the food here. It is reasonably priced and comes reasonably quickly. The staff are cheerfully and attentive without being annoying. Any issues are quickly resolved and they rarely make mistakes. I wish they were on a food delivery app otherwise I'd order more often. The place is well decorated. A cozy mid 20th century hippy vibe. If only everyone in the service industry was this friendly and lovely We ended up here after we had car trouble on the highway in the middle of the night and 2 gentlemen stopped to assist. They told us they were from the yellow deli (i have previously lived in Chilliwack but hadn't been here i ages), and they gave us a business card good for a free mate tea I had the Yellow Submarine (veggie sandwich) the bread was fresh and light and the sauce of the day was a delicious cheese spread. I opted for coleslaw and was ecstatic with my choice, our lovely lady even brought me a couple extra pickles. My son had the hearty beef chili and a chipotle chicken sandwich he said was yummy! I needed to have my free tea so i went with the cardamom chai which was spicy and flavorful (i even bought 2 bags to go)!l!! For dessert the cream cheese pie with strawberries was an obvious choice and a WIN!!!! I don't care what the rumors are, these are the nicest, sweetest people and i will 100% be back next time im in town. And if i was invited to the farm i would have gone and never left!!!! My Fiancee is an Abbotsford native, and has spoken very highly of her visits to the Yellow deli. I never thought that it could live up to these expectations but it certainly has. I think the menu is a perfect representation of the restaurant: Fun and and simple. Me and my Fiancee shared the House Reuben and chicken sandwich. Although I typically gravitate towards a Reuben I will say that the chicken sandwich was amazing. The bun was toasted amazingly; however it was the chicken that stood out. It was perfectly seasoned with almost a hint of sweetness. The rest of her family have been multiple times and could not stop recommending various menu items. I've been travelling back and forth almost every week between Coquitlam and Chilliwack, and only last week did I have the opportunity to visit the Yellow Deli! What can I say, it's not exactly all yellow inside but did give me a big ol' happy face like an emoji which is yellow? Enough with trying to connect the dots, let's get on with this review. I popped in some time close to midnight on a Sunday and boy was it packed inside, we didn't have to wait for a table so I'm sure we had just missed the peak hour but it still felt like a busy cafe like one you might visit downtown on a Friday night. Anyways as you can tell by our timing, we were in for some late night muchies. I've heard loads about how great their in house pie and carrot cake is so obviously those were gonna be my first choice. We also decided to order a basket of chips to snack on while we waited for the desserts. Amazing, all I can say. For the price as well I could come here every day and be almost as happy as the guys that work hear, boy are they friendly. Interesting place, interesting people, reasonable prices and delicious, healthy food. We stopped by while driving through to the Okanagan, it was just a few minutes off the highway and we were glad we stooped as the food was healthy, tasty and unique. Their beliefs are such that they do not use a deep fryer, so everything hot is generally steamed (not at all soggy). We shared the waffle with fruit and yogurt, it was very tasty and well presented. We also shared the smoked turkey breakfast sandwhich which was also very tasty (messy to eat). They pour very large cups of coffee, which we enjoyed. The service is pleasant, friendly and authentic. We felt welcomed and comfortable. The ambiance is cozy and rustic; large wood beams, rounds of wood made into tables, even homemade macrame. Apparently it was made by their community, neat idea. They have a small store/bakery in the adjacent parking lot which is worth a stop as well. read more

What a cute place! Strongly recommend if you are in the area. It's open 24/7 and it feels like you are in a medieval movie set or some sort of fairytale land. I wasn't expecting this, I thought it'll be a small plain spot. I tried the Reuben which is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! I'm rarely eat chips but these chips are so fresh and good nothing was left behind. I had one of their tea lattes which was okay, nothing special, it was like warm. The best deli around! The yellow deli offers a great variety of foods from salads, sandwiches, soups, chilli, deserts, and beverages that you'll never get board of! They offer a vegan sandwich called the Garden Burger that I would recommend to anyone! And they have an amazing Banana Milk that is to DIE FOR GOOD! WARNING - the staff, including the cooks, do NOT wear face masks. I was SO excited to finally get to dine at the Yellow Deli. It had been a long day in the car and we could've just kept driving to finally reach our destination, but we just had to pull over at the Yellow Deli to try some of the delicious food my friends rave about. I walked in with my husband and 2 kids and immediately noticed the wait staff not wearing face masks. Once sat at our table, I peaked into the kitchen and noticed the cooks also not wearing masks. We immediately walked out. Today's CBC headline read: "B.C. records 243 new cases of COVID-19, the highest daily case count in 2 months." Yellow Deli - I am so disheartened to see that you feel it's appropriate to run your business this way knowing that we're still in this pandemic and that our province's numbers are in fact going up. Amazing service and food. I appreciated the secluded and calm atmosphere. Our waiter didn't rush us at any point in our meal and checked in as often as he could to see how we were doing. A lot of one star reviews seem to be about how slow wait times were. But this isn't a Denny's. It's an experience and it's worth taking a moment to enjoy. I don't know what it is about this place. But the atmosphere is amazing. I just wanted to spend the day lounging about, having a cup of coffee, chatting, nibbling on a sandwich. The energy in the place is just so positive. As a warning, they don't move fast. It took over 30 minutes for my sandwich. It strangely didn't bother me though. The menu itself isn't large, but it doesn't need to be. It has a variety of sandwiches, a couple of soups, and some breakfast items. I had the Turkey Rancher. It wasn't the best sandwich I've ever had in my life, but it was a pretty tasty sandwich. Pricing is more than reasonable. Also, everyone who apparently works there is male, has their hair back in a ponytail, and some sort of facial hair. When you have 600miles of the road on you, you'll make do with just about anything. But, when you lay your eyes on a Yellow Deli, it kinda feels like you drove 600miles to eat at Yellow Deli. The quirkiness & novelty of the place should alone do the trick. The fact that they're that cool, and also open 24hrs/day (until Friday 3PM...a sad realization when we ran into a "closed Yellow Deli" on the way back) makes it all the more cooler. And then, there's the staff...hipster & courteous...and the food, creeps up on you when you're least expecting. Radhika (wife) ordered hot chocolate and waffles...they serve enough hot chocolate in one serving to give the entire family a sugar high (at least an east-Indian sized family). I ordered coffee. Again, yeti-sized serving...so, I stayed up the whole way on the passenger seat when I supposed to get some shut eye (thanks a lot, yellow deli). And then there was the Turkeywich (Turkey-Breakfast Sandwiched served in a croissant like bread that is just heavenly stuff). Tip: If you're not big into cheese, ask them to take it easy...I think they slapped on three slices of it in one sandwiched (I am pretty sure my heart must've clogged a tad bit as I was downing it). I checked into the Yellow Deli early one morning for breakfast. The place was very dimly lit. I walked in and eventually greeted by another man around my age. He didn't have very good people skills, I instantly felt awkward as soon as he brought me to my table. The experience didn't get any better. I ordered two eggs and date bread, along with a Yerba mate tea. I was given the option of cream and honey for my tea. When my breakfast arrived the eggs tasted strongly of butter. Like they put way too much butter on the frying pan when they cooked the eggs. I couldn't taste anything but butter. Eggs had decent runny yolks. The highlight of the visit was the date bread. It had an excellent sweetness to it wasn't dry. It broke apart nicely when I broke the bread with my hands. Other than the bread, the service wasn't very good. When I went to pay, I paid in cash and the waiter who was serving me the entire time held onto the change in his hand like he thought he deserved it as a tip. Again made me feel more awkward so I ended up giving him a 20% tip because I felt too awkward to ask him for my change which he didn't put on the table with my paper money. read more

My dad had heard about this place before and we finally were out in Chilliwack for once. So we came to check it out and I can't wait to go back! An outstanding experience after camping!! Rustic wood everywhere , pleasant staff. The music is mellow and fits with the feel of the restaurant. We were seated at beautiful all wood table with smooth edges and grain lines running through. The muffin was one of the best I have ever had! The bread is so delicious everyone liked it. The curry yam soup was amazingly smooth and flavorful. Coffee was served in a hearty smooth clay mug that was beautiful. One of my favourite places to grab a bite they aren't open Friday's after 4, until Sunday at 12pm--but their sandwiches are great, and their soups are delicious. (Curried Yam is by far the best one). Drinks often came after food, and you need to remind staff of your order sometimes as they are really busy. We've been to the Yellow Deli a few times now. Being creatures of habit though, we ordered the reuben sandwiches and chili each time. FOOD The chili is a very delicious soup. It could use a bit more spice to it to be more of a chili--but it's by absolutely no means a bad soup. The bread that came with our order was soft and good too. Reubens were delicious--but if you don't like them hot and sweaty and want them toasted, be careful! (That doesn't bug me at all, the sandwich is really good.) The other reviews are right, the food is healthy and unique. . . and neither the staff nor the restaurant really shoves that 'organic' vibe down your throat. (Not to insult the 'organic' folks, but I have had it aggressively marketed at me before, that's all. c:) DRINK I ordered a root beer the last time, and while it came cold, it was a bit flat. I got the hot apple cider this time and it was absolutely fantastic. I love the mugs they come in too. Good size! ENVIRONMENT The restaurant is lit differently in different places, but not in a disjointed way. I found that it gives patrons better seating options, in fact. The decor is very unique. The Turkey rancher is my go to sandwich as well as the Yerba mate teas highly refreshing. I adore that they give you a little pot of honey if wanted way better than processed sugar. I am from the city and am use to city gourmet food. This place beats most expensive places in the city. I am also kind of a nerd.... So that's why I like this place a lot. Cool, very relaxing, chill environment. It's as if you went to the Shire in The Hobit or Lord Of The Rings. The all wooden theme and light music ambiance is unique and soothing. All the staff look the same, as in they all have beards and wear plad shirts. The tables are made of a slab of tree. The wall is filled with hand custom art. The food is mostly sandwiches of healthy choices. The drinks are fantastic. Hot or cold apple ciders, special herb drinks and real fruit smoothies such as papaya. Entering The Yellow Deli is like entering a time warp - when times were simpler, and kids could play outside, and you could drink the milk straight from the cow. We were magically whisked away to our table, where we found the magical menu and a pretty good selection of choices. Our server was Roberto Luongo's doppelgänger, but totally commune style - hair pulled back into a little man pony, and moderate facial hair. I went with the chipotle chicken sandwich, and it was pretty good. The highlight of the meal was the creamy tomato basil soup, smashingly good.
