I've been to this salon three times--once with my mom while she got her nails done, and twice by myself. Each time I went alone, the difference in how I was treated was dramatic. I'm not someone who asks for complicated designs, I don't switch things up often, and I'm definitely not a difficult customer. I'm quiet, not chatty, and even if there's a small mistake, I usually let it go because I don't want to be "that person." But my last visit--about a year ago for my graduation nails--was so bad that I still think about it. I asked for almond-shaped, light pink nails at a medium-short length. What I got was honestly embarrassing. They were over-filed, uneven, and just overall sloppy. When I politely asked if she could fix the shaping before painting, she told me, "When I add the acrylic it'll look better." It didn't. I do my own nails sometimes, and they have never looked this bad. I can't shake the feeling that because I'm in high school, they assumed I wouldn't tip, and the service reflected that. I went on a Friday recently and they looked okay, but he did not clean them up. when I asked him about it he told me to go home and take a shower. I paid $100! by the next day most were chipped. By the following Monday they were all chipped. I called and made an appointment for the following day. when I arrived I was told to sit at a table and sat there for 15 minutes while they completely ignored me. I couldn't wear nails due to nursing school and was excited to wear them for graduation. I was excited at first but the Employees looked depressed. There was a dog there and I have allergies. I love animals but that was off to me for health code violations. I got a new full set and they looked two weeks grown out.. She Didn't tell me that cat eye was an additional $15.00 until she started putting it on. Didn't tell me that shaping was extra as well. Can't even give them one star. My daughter went there and had acrylics. They fell off within 3 days. She went back in and they said her nails was to short for acrylics. I went back in with her and they told me the same thing. If her nails was to short then they shouldn't have put them on! I contacted the owner and that experience was even worst. I sent everything that he asked for - pictures, time of appointment, etc. She has developmental disabilities and don't have a debit card and paid in cash so that didn't help because he kept saying that he didn't see any receipt with her name on it. I even had a confirmation email of her appointment. He kept saying he didn't see where she had her nails done there. After going back and forth with him I said to forget it and she would never go there again. read more

I've been going to a&t for a while now in fact they have always been my go to for whenever I wanted my nails done. I usually always get Tina I believe her name is (who is the owner) and she's amazing! She always does an amazing job at shape and designs I request and if we can't do that specific design she'll make sure to get as close to it as possible. The vibe is so comforting and relaxing. However the past few times I've gotten someone different which is fine but I am not fine with me going in there and waiting 20+ minutes, sitting down and asking if we could do a certain design I had in mind and even made sure the different person knew if he wanted to swap out colors in the swirly design itself that's okay, shape, whatever I'd be totally okay with that and I'm not too picky but as long as we can stick to the swirly design and the length pictured. That was my only request. However he gave me something totally opposite and far from what I had wanted. He didn't even discuss what he was going to do or the idea he just did it.... I still tipped 20% because I know he was just trying his best but $75 and the tip seems ridiculous. Unfortunately I will never be going back and will now be finding elsewhere to go. I wouldn't be so upset usually but I am a mom of 2 so my "me time" is rare and so I take advantage of every second of it. I received a gift card for A&T Nail Spa and called ahead to see if they took walk-ins, which they did. It was 5:00, they close at 7:30, and I didn't have to wait very long for a mani/pedi. Their price list is great, with options for regular polish, gel, and acrylics. They also have children's prices and they're perfect for kids. I wish I asked my techs name because she was fantastic. Spa pedicure and sugar scrub manicure were one of the best in years! I would highly recommend this place based on my first visit today. Can't wait to go back. read more

This place is like a factory, they try to rush you out as fast as they can. Very poor powder nails. They always look thick when done here. I went for a pedicure today and to relax. Well to rush me out they came over and started on my nails while getting my pedicure. No time to relax for me. Some of my nails are rounded while other are square. They look awful. There was no manicure done and I wasn't asked if I wanted one. So I have dry, flaking skin all around my chunky nails. I'm honestly going right to another salon to have these removed. Complete waste of money. They told me my nails were too short for powder. Well all my nails were past my finger tips when I went in and I told them not to shorten them. i have been going to this nail salon since I've lived in johnstown. it's close to my house. I'm never picky, I don't ask for anything extreme and I always tip and I'm always polite and quite. the one time I was very dissatisfied with what I paid for I came in and showed my nails to the lady and explained the situation and that I just was not happy with the sloppy paint job. she decided to tell me it's because of the color I picked. I'm sorry but they have tools you can buy and use on customers that make it easier to paint brown tips on a full set it's not because of the color and if it was then toss all the "hard colors" nail salons all over have them and y'all don't? lazy or cheap.. im not sure. I was glad they fixed it but when I went in over this past weekend for a full set I started off with a lady that did a great job and she knew who I was and my experience a month prior. she attended to me all the way up until it was time to paint my nails and then she decided to go off and do a pedicure and handed me off to the same guy that did a terrible job the last time I was in. I'm sorry but if I come in and you're doing my nails then I expect start to finish with the same person. not to mention she left to do other peoples nails in the middle of doing mine and never said "sorry or excuse me" just would do some of mine and then do others nails when they just walked in the door, I've been sitting here twice as long as them and never got that treatment. I was there for over an hour and a half because they wanted to do my nails and 3 others at the same time and then hand me off to the man that doesn't know how to paint nails. I'm sorry but with all the services you guys get you should be able to find a cheap tool that allows you to paint dark colors on tips of nails without looking like a toddler did them. yes this turned kind of mean but they are rude to me and I'm a simple quite customer and they treat me like old trash. I am less than impressed with this salon. There is literally one person who can do my nails correctly there. Everyone else that has done them has either done a botched job or was unable to do what I ask for. I hadn't been in a long time and decided to get acrylic nails. My usual nail tech wasn't available so I let some one else do them. My mistake. A man started them and then just stopped and said that he was going to McDonald's and a lady took over. One of my nails I noted was lopsided and when I mentioned it, I was told it would be evened out when they were filed. It was not. She also used gel polish without asking me if that is what I wanted which cost an extra $15 then told me at the time for payment that it was too late. I stated that the color I wanted seemed to be off and was ignored and the silver accent nail I wanted was more of a rainbow sparkle. I am going to have to find another place to go.
