The staff in the front was really nice. I was never asked what kind of pedicure/ add ons so they gave me the basic for $35. Never got offered water or a beverage. The massage portion was just someone touching my feet and legs. My tech turned off my chair when she was painting my toes, didn't say what or why so I turned it back on, immediately was turned back off. I have been going to this nail salon for two months and because my previous manicures have been good that is the only reason they are getting a 2 star review. Usually a man (not the owner's husband) does my nails and he does a pretty good job, but this last time I had a woman who spoke Spanish do my nails - if you go there and they are going to have her do your nails say NO. First, I asked for powder dip gel and she said no I need a refill on my tips... I say "no I do not have acrylics I do not need a refill. I want powder dip gel." Then after a couple minutes she finally realized I do not have acrylic tips on. She did not understand any English at all and when working at a nail salon you would expect the woman would at least understand typical nail salon terms... but when I asked for square shape she began filing my nails in ovals and I said "no square ... flat on top" and she still did not understand. I took the nail file and filed my own nails. I think she used the wrong top coat on my nails because 1 day after I got them done the top coat PEELED off!! I have been getting powder gel manicures for years and this has never happened! The bottom of the nails near my nail bed looked really bad leaving the nail salon and I was so frustrated when leaving and cannot believe I paid $45 for this manicure. I wanted to go back and complain, but it would be a waste of time... it's not like I want them to do my nails again and I highly doubt they will give me a refund. My technician was very nice. She did okay but got polish on my shoe and didn't even attempt to remove it. The prices are posted, but every single one has an arrow up next to each one. My first time experience here was not great. I called and asked them for what I wanted (gel pedi & full set) and also asked if an appointment was required, the woman on the phone said no and I could be taken right away whenever was best for me to come. she was friendly on the phone. I told her I would be there in 10 minutes. When I arrived the salon seemed your typical walk in walk out salon, nothing special. "moderately clean" from the waiting area point of view. I waited 20 minutes at least until the woman sat me down for my pedi. No words were ever said during the entire appointment so I do not know the name of the older lady I had. I believe she could have been the owners mom but not quite sure. I am pretty sure I received the worst pedicure of my life. I had previous gel on my toes and she brought out this heavy duty electric nail file, that was clearly contaminated with previous nail filings. So then and there I knew that they do not properly sanitize their equipment. You would think that would have changed during a global pandemic? she filed my toe nails down so much that they are now paper thin. I am going to have to put acrylic on them just so they keep from breaking. When it came time for her to shape my toes, I told her I like them perfectly squared. she did not even glance up or acknowledge me at all and proceeded to round out my corners and then did the lightest strokes of the nail file that she might as well had done nothing. By now I pretty much knew where this was headed.. At this point, I told her she can just skip the gel polish , I wasn't going to be getting it. she continued with the pedicure and when it came time for the scrub part, she reached out for the big tub of scrub that was clearly placed in the middle of the two pedicure chairs, and she just goes in and grabs it with her dirty gloves. How many people's dirty pedicure water has been in this scrub??? the proper protocol would have been to scoop it out with something so you don't cross contaminate. At this point, I'm skipping the full set & gel polish all together. The owner kept insisting I get the full set and it made me feel very uncomfortable. The entire experience was so incredibly uncomfortable and not at all what it should be. Would never recommend to anyone. it was awful. read more

Made an appointment and had to wait an hour after the appointment. While getting my nails done, the manicurist got up and left me nails under the UV light for over 15 minutes. He cut me and let the blood mix in with the nail polish. When I asked his to fix my nails because they were all crooked he filed it a little bit( not enough to fix) and just put lotion on my nails. So upset, I'm from out of town and my mother,sister and daughter wanted to get our nails done. My mother and sister live in seaford and heard great things about this salon. I paid $40 for a full set and she didn't cut down my real nails or trim cuticles, rushed the whole thing. The acrylic is so thick it looks like I have gum drops on my nails (same as my mothers) the shape uneven. She didn't even put enough acrylic on my thumb so the left corner doesn't even have acrylic or polish on it. My daughter asked for some kind of design or sparkle polish on her big toe nail and they kept refusing to do it saying her nails are to little (my salon in Texas never has a problem?) over all I though they rushed and did a horrible job! read more

I've been coming here for a while now for my acrylics, and they're always great! for $25-30 they're just what I want. My only gripe is that every time there is one tiny problem, like one of my nails is a bit crooked or there is some acrylic under my nail that doesn't get buffed, but they're not that big of a deal. The salon itself is decent, the prices are reasonable and the color selection was nice. However, the customer service was very poor. The woman who did my pedicure did not speak to me even once. I was here last night and felt like the person doing my nails didn't care and was rushed. It appeared that because I didn't want gel that he didn't care about doing my nails. I told him from the beginning I wanted them short and oval. They were not short enough and oval, looked like a point, well at least to me. When he asked for the 3rd time about gel and I said no, he started to file my nails very harshly and cut my skin. When using the nail block my nails were hardly touched and he sanded more of my knuckles than nail. I pulled back several times and he finish in like a minute. I washed my hands and couldn't wait to get out of his chair - paid the requested amount without even polish on them. I went down the road and had another salon fix the situation. All in all - I had gone to this salon about a year ago and was very happy, but now I will NEVER recommend nor step foot in A & R NAILS again. read more
