If I could give no stars, I would. Please stay away at all costs if you want to walk away with your memories and furniture intact. I hired this company to move everything from my home into storage - furniture, but TVs, boxes, books, clothing, picture frames, glass items, and more. This was an entire household move into a 10x15 storage unit, and what they did to my belongings is beyond unacceptable. The movers showed up on time, and at first everything seemed fine. But very quickly it became clear that, aside from Ray, the rest of the crew was inexperienced and in training -- and it showed in the worst possible way. My mother went to the storage unit with them while I stayed behind packing. Later, Ray told me, "Everything is packed -- you cannot fit everything in." That was a complete lie. The unit was packed horribly -- huge gaps, wasted space, no strategy, no care. I lost about a foot of usable space because they didn't know how to pack properly. When I went the next day, I had to reorganize everything myself, and it was obvious that more could have fit if they had simply done their job correctly. Now let's talk about the damage -- because this is where it gets outrageous. Boxes clearly marked FRAGILE in bright red marker were thrown into random places with zero care. Heavy books and large items were stacked directly on top of glass, even though I explicitly said not to do that. I had plenty of blankets and protective materials available, and they still failed to properly wrap or protect my items. When I later emptied the storage unit, the damage was devastating. Several of my large glass picture frames were left completely shattered -- not cracked, not chipped -- shattered into pieces. Multiple bins were crushed. Glass items were broken. One of my TVs was destroyed. This was not minor damage -- this was widespread, careless destruction of my belongings. And the worst part -- the piece that I can never truly replace -- was my great-grandparents' antique buffet. Over 100 years old, brought from Germany by my family in the early 1900s. I am the fourth generation to have this piece. They broke the leg because they left half of it on a cart and the other half sitting on uneven ground and walked away. Ray's response? That it was old and he could just "put a nail in it." No. Absolutely not. That is not a repair -- that is disrespectful, negligent, and completely unacceptable for a piece of irreplaceable antique furniture. This was a family heirloom, not something you "patch" with a nail. When I brought this up, he tried to offer me a discount on the move instead of taking responsibility. I made it very clear I did not want a discount -- I wanted proper reimbursement through insurance for the damage they caused (which they acknowledged). The repair alone is around $300, plus an additional $270 for transport. Instead of handling it professionally, he ignored me, left me on read, and then blocked me. That tells you everything you need to know. I genuinely question whether this company is even insured, because I never received a single meaningful response regarding reimbursement. About 50% of my items were damaged during a 15-minute move. That is beyond unacceptable -- it's reckless. Please see the attached photos of the damage -- this is the reality of what happened. This company is careless, unprofessional, and completely disrespectful of your belongings. Ray uses inexperienced movers, does not properly protect items, and disappears the moment accountability is required. I cannot put into words how heartbreaking it is to see items that have been in my family for generations destroyed due to pure negligence. Run away from this company and find someone else -- or be prepared to pay out of pocket for broken furniture, shattered glass, destroyed electronics, and memories that can never be replaced. read more

The guys showed up on time and begin the move and everything was going well. The guys moving with the exception of Ray were in training and it showed. As they were moving things into the truck all looked well and fine. My mom went to the storage unit with them and I didn't because I had to work. The storage unit was a 10x15, with plenty of room. However it was packed poorly, I lost a foot of space because of all the gaps that were not filler in between. Ray told me - everything is packed -you can not fit everything in. This was a lie, everything was packed incorrectly not unified and that's why it "could not fit". When I got to the unit the next day, I had to reorganize the front because more items could clearly fit in. On top of that, I had boxes that were clearly marked as fragile (in bright red markers) thrown in random places within the storage unit that was not secure. In addition to all this, my 100-year-old antique buffet that my grandparents brought from Germany. The leg broke because they put half of it on the cart and the other half on the ground walked away and left it on unsteady ground. His excuse was, "Well, it was old and I can get a nail to "patch" the leg back on." No sir, I explained multiple times that this is antique and it needs to be handled with care and putting a nail in an antique was a band-aid on a bullet wound. It needs to be professionally taken care of. I've asked them to reimburse me with no reply as it will take $300 to fix the leg alone, which does not include the $270 drop-off and delivery fee from the furniture company. The lack of understanding since this incident has sealed the deal for me. I am not sure if they are actually insurance because I haven't heard anything back on my reimbursement. The movers were careful with each item that was being removed from our storage unit. They would make a comment about each piece that seemed that it could have been damaged and we would confirm that it was damaged beforehand or that it wasn't damaged. They even saw a little chewed up piece of an ottoman that our puppy chewed up. They were honest, on time, and careful. They moved quickly as well and all of our items were placed in our home with no issues. We had one small issue with a staff member that was unprofessional (he was swearing, speaking poorly of the company, and proceeded to joke inappropriately). It made my fiance uncomfortable and she quickly went back into the house after the items were put away. I contacted the owner after the move and told him that we really enjoyed his services but wanted to let him know of the unprofessional behavior since we hired "professional" movers. The owner, Ray, immediately resolved the situation and was appalled that his staff member would treat a customer the way that I described. I understand that snafus can happen with any business and I do no judge a company based on something that is unintentional. Ray handled the situation and honestly, was more upset that I was! Absolutely horrible experience. I have used this company before, and didn't have a problem, but my second experience was HORRIBLE! 1. Movers were 3 hours late! 15 minutes after i scheduled them to arrive, i called to see where they were and the owner, Ray, told me that I had cancelled (i had confirmed with him 2 days prior). He tries to reschedule me to a different day, even though i told him the date i scheduled was the only day available. He scrambled to get his "guys" out to me 3 hours later, and instead of sending 2 that i requested, he sent 3 and tried to charge me for the extra mover! He got an attitude with me, demanded to know why i was moving (absolutely none of his business as long as I'm paying you) and insisted i pay for the extra person or he would come pick him up. What was already a difficult day was made even worse just by dealing with him. 2. One of the guys broke a mirror to a piece of furniture during the move. I said it was fine, but i expected it to be replaced. They kept the mirror for measurements to have it replaced. 4 weeks go by and i hear nothing, so i called Ray, and he acted like he was getting on it to have it replaced. 3 additional phone calls over another month, and i was promised a replacement even after i had to send them measurements since they threw the glass away. Needless to say I moved 6 months ago and the glass was never replace. Absolutely horrific experience with this company. They may be the cheapest in the area but the savings is not worth the frustration anyone will have when dealing with the owner or his men. Do not use this company!! On the day of the move they called (30 minutes late) to tell me they couldn't rent a truck. The uhaul company gave it away and they couldn't find another one. One call from me to uhaul secured a truck right down the road but I was left moving a 2900 sq foot house with only me and my son. The owner was unresponsive, made his problem (the inability to get a truck) seem like mine and then said he would call back and never did. Once again, Don't use them!! read more

If you value your furniture do not use this company. The owner stated he was at every move which he is not. They showed up almost 3 hours late with a Penske truck and 3 movers who did not look like professional movers. They told me company truck was broken and this was a rented truck not big enough for my furniture. They took the paint off my newly painted staircase, scratched new hardwood floors, big scratch and paint on new leather couch with almost every piece of wood furniture is damaged. They left several boxes and furniture in garage not moving it to proper rooms. I signed a receipt for 327.00 and the owner charged my credit card for over 500.00. Owner, Ray came to look at damage and stated I had big furniture and then told me he wouldnt pay for damage. Owner is dishonest and does not have professional movers. Use another company. read more

Ray and two guys that worked with him worked very hard and moved us from a 2 bedroom apartment on second floor to a villa. They were very careful with our furniture and boxes. The price of the move came out to be just as estimated prior to the move. The guys did not waste any time and just worked on the move until it was done. Ray and his crew were extremely polite. The worst move EVER! Ray (the owner) has a terrible work ethic. He dropped off three workers, and disappeared within 5 minutes of me signing the contract. One of the workers was brand new, and had no idea what he was doing. I watched in frustration as he roamed aimlessly from room to room without picking up or packing anything, on my dime. (Yes, they are paid by the hour and they move real slow). When I called Ray to complain, instead of any type of apologies, I was chastised and told "I will not allow my guys to run through your house, in case they break anything, they are going as fast as they can"... And he was not even on scene. When the new guy finally quits, two hours into the job, Ray eventually shows up again, only to tell me that it's going to take 2 trips to move a 2 bed condo!! I have never used two trips in any of my moves, ever! Took them all day to do the move, charged me an outrageous $860, and did not put any of my furniture back together except my dining table and half of a china cabinet. When they left at almost 11:30 p.m., my bed was still in pieces on the floor my mirror was not attached to my dresser my children's twin beds were not put together, & were in pieces on the floor. And most importantly, my china cabinet which has heavy beveled glass doors was laying on the table of my dining room. There is no way I can lift those glass doors to put them up myself. When i sent a text to Ray, to ask if he could return to put the glass doors back on the china cabinet, it took him hours to respond, only to say sorry he is working late. He has not responded or shown up since. That was over a week ago. One of the workers was awesome, I felt bad that he work for such a crappy company. I would never, ever recommend this company not even to my enemy. The work was terrible, Ray has a 'fast money' 'let me do my thing' attitude. With very little concern for how happy his customers are with the work, or if he did the best work possible. Stay Away! Save yourself the aggravation & money! Hire professionals. read more

These guys are fabulous. Talk about hustle! Ray and the "Kid" saved me. I had a full pod in the parking lot and my other movers bailed at the very last minute. Grrrr. After calling a couple other movers who were either not available, or had 4 hr min + a stair fee and charge 2x as much I called Ray cause he was the next one I found. He was polite and genuinely wanted to help me out. They came as soon as he finished the job he was on. They unloaded my pod in 1 hour and 10 mins. This is FL. It's hot. They each carried 3 boxes at a time up the stairs and paused to let me point them to the correct room. They stacked them neatly, were careful not to ding the walls. It was such a pleasure dealing with them. I strongly recommend Ray and his crew. I feel really lucky to have connected with him. He's a good guy. read more

Hi Southwest Florida. I am writing this review in hopes that it helps you avoid the experience that I had when moving. Although the team that came to help me move was friendly, the management team at A&R does not hold up to their word on rates or their contract as it relates to damages. The rate was changed on me the day of my move as items were already on the truck and which did not match what I was told 1) when scheduling my appointment and 2) while onsite. In addition, some items were damaged during the move which is expected. However, there were two which I called to report that were significant. When I called the owners were rude, condescending, talking in an almost screaming tone to me - even hanging up on me at one point. I ask several times for them to stop talking to me in that manner. Their whole goal was to negate any responsibility for any damages by trying to intimidate me. Something else noteworthy - their own staff seemed to fear their management team. I think this says a great deal about a company. If you want a pleasant experience - look elsewhere. If you want to ensure that your items will be covered when moved - look elsewhere.
