As a female, I know it can be intimidating to take our vehicles to the car shops sometimes. In fact, several months ago, I posted looking for advice on some places. After searching the internet and reading online reviews, I fortunately found Transmission Unlimited in Downtown Mooresville. Ron and Steve are Amazing. Very honest and trusting. I paid $65 for oil change and tire rotation at Walmart, today at Transmission Unlimited I spent less than $28 and they fully looked over my car to make sure everything was good and safe for the kids and I and the upcoming snow. I have also had experience with them in regards to a transmission issue on husbands truck. A++ service! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This business has provided me a quote over the phone, then after I dropped my car off called me back to say they miscalculated the estimate and that it will cost an additional $1,100 because they looked up the wrong parts. After going back and forth on the phone, they somehow came to a conclusion that it would only cost an extra $700. Pretty evident of price gouging. On the second occasion, they told me my only option to fix my car issues was to walnut blast the intake valves for $1400. I spoke with the mechanic on the phone and they claimed they had dealt with this same issue multiple times and were sure this was the only fix. I declined, and ended up finding a very obvious vacuum leak that cost me $8 to fix. It is very clear that this business is trying to take advantage of European vehicle service prices while providing inadequate work.

He was honest, prompt, and fair in his pricing--very transparent in the exact nature of the work he was doing and even showed me the old rotors after swapping them out for new ones. My car started to misfire. I was nervous because I wasn't familiar with my surroundings. I was far from my mechanic and I didn't know if I would be able to make it home. I didn't know if I should drive it with the check engine light on or have it towed. So the owner of the shop walked out. He checked my oil, added a little to my car then hooked it to the machine to conduct a diagnostic check. He gave me the diagnosis and I was able to make an informed decision. This shop doesn't just work on Subaru vehicles. They're a certified Subaru repair shop; but they're familiar with ALL vehicles. They don't do engine work but can do fantastic body work. You get great value when you visit and they work directly with insurance companies that is extremely helpful. I learned a lot and love the southern hospitality. I started going to Steve just because I needed my car inspected. After that breif interaction with Steve I knew he was a mechanic that was on the up and up. It's a small shop with just two spots to work on cars. Steve is the owner and his son is also a mechanic that works at the shop with him. He can get pretty busy so I like to make a appointment before driving to Kannapolis from Charlotte, I suggest you do the same. For some reason I have terrible luck with cars, all I wanna do is get the oil changed and put gas in it. Anything above those two things I'm a topical girl and know nothing about it. The first car that Steve worked on was a 1995 Nissan Sentra (still running might I add), from oil changes to brake replacements he did it all. Always at very reasonable prices telling me exactly what I was paying for and how much the parts were. After what I thouhgt was a up grade to a 2010 Chevy Malibu Steve continued to work on that. Unfortunately that car had MORE then a few problems! Steve did fix a few things on it, but he finally said enough is enough telling me I shouldn't keep putting money in that car. Now I've got a 2012 Chevy Sonic and I trust Steve to work on that too. Everyone needs a trustworthy mechanic, Steve is definitely that!

I told him that he forgot to charge me for a headlight and he said it was okay! My two kids hung out in the waiting room and my oil change was sooooo quick! ALSO they did not ask me to do any more work to my car. I know so many places will try to upsell you on other things but they didn't do that here! I'll definitely be going back!
