The room she gave me had a view of the parking lot. I indicated the room was advertised as having a partial lake view. She didn't offer anything else except to give the number of a reservation manager. I called and texted that number with no response. The number listed on Expedia was for the Sundowner. I called that number with no response. I ended up turning in the keys and working with Expedia to try to get a refund. Customer service is terrible!

Photos are misleading, there was moldy spot on the mattress topper which was just sitting there exposed for us to see when we got there. Carpet hasn't been changed in probably 30 years. Stained beyond belief. Spiders crawling on the walls. Sheets were wrinkled which really made me question how clean they were. We ended up leaving that same day. Normally I would have stuck it out for the two days that we were booked BUT we had our one year old daughter with us and there was NO WAY in hell I'd let her sleep in her pack and play on that disgusting floor. I'm so beyond words disappointed. There's truly no excuse for this sort of negligence of such beautiful property. Parents be warned, pictures are misleading.

We booked our stay early in the year for June to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday…read more Unfortunately, while driving to the resort, we experienced a medical emergency and had to cancel the trip. When we called the Sagamore, I was genuinely impressed by how empathetic and accommodating the staff were on the phone. Instead of enforcing a strict cancellation policy, they allowed us to reschedule for a later date when we were ready. Many businesses would not have been so understanding, and they deserve full credit for their excellent customer service. We eventually rescheduled during peak season. While that wasn't ideal because it cost nearly twice as much as our original June booking, we viewed staying at a resort like the Sagamore as a once-in-a-lifetime experience and decided it would be worth it. Check-in was smooth and efficient. We received a map of the property and information about resort activities and amenities. Our villa was farther from the main resort than we would have preferred, but the walk was scenic and enjoyable. We stayed in a Hermitage Suite, and I wish I had paid closer attention to the layout before booking. There is only one bathroom, which is located upstairs and accessible through the master bedroom. Having no half-bath on the main floor, especially where the secondary sleeping area is located, is a poor design choice. Additionally, if our son slept on the pull-out sofa, it completely blocked access to the patio, where we had hoped to relax in the evenings after he went to sleep. Since there was plenty of space in the master bedroom, we asked whether cots were available, but they were not. We ended up creating a makeshift bed upstairs using couch cushions. It wasn't ideal, but it allowed us to enjoy our evenings without being confined to the bedroom for the entire week. Our biggest disappointment, however, was the lack of soundproofing. The walls were so thin that it felt as though the units were separated by curtains. We could hear everything from neighboring rooms: conversations, children yelling, people running up and down stairs, alarm clocks, televisions left on all night, and more. For a property positioned as a luxury resort, this was extremely disappointing. There were also several smaller issues throughout our stay. The toilet paper holder constantly dropped the roll, the thermostat repeatedly reset itself to 75°F, the Wi-Fi was unreliable, and the TV frequently lost signal. We only contacted staff regarding the Wi-Fi because I needed to handle an urgent work matter and about the TV because our son wakes up very early, and we hoped to let him watch a show while we caught up on sleep. The resort grounds themselves were pleasant, though not exceptional. We enjoyed spending time at the lake. The pool, however, appeared cloudy on our first visit and could benefit from additional maintenance. We appreciated the complimentary rides on the Morgan ferry and wish we had taken advantage of all three tour options to experience more of the lake. The recreation center was also a nice feature for families with children, although some of the equipment and facilities could use repairs and upkeep. I want to remain fair because the resort was so accommodating when we needed to reschedule. However, based on our experience, this did not feel like a true luxury property. Service throughout the restaurants was disappointing, with staff often appearing disengaged or uninterested. What stood out most was that during our stay, we greeted dozens of employees while walking around the property and received only one response. At a luxury resort, that level of indifference is surprising. The resort hosted several large events during our visit, which appeared to be weddings. While it's easy to understand why the property is an attractive event venue, it often felt as though those events were the primary focus rather than the resort guests. Ultimately, this was the most expensive family vacation we have ever taken, and we left feeling exhausted and frustrated rather than refreshed. One final observation: I have noticed management responses to critical reviews often focus on defending the resort rather than acknowledging guests' experiences. Whether management agrees with a review or not, people are entitled to their feelings. A more empathetic response would go much further in demonstrating a commitment to guest satisfaction. I truly wanted to love this resort, especially given how accommodating they were when we had to reschedule. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the expectations associated with the price point or the luxury reputation. Looking back, I wish I had paid more attention to reviews describing similar concerns, as many of the issues we encountered do not appear to be isolated incidents.

We come every year, so at this point I've had a lot of review updates…read more It's still a very positive experience across the board here. The property is an absolute dream and my kids could spend the entire day playing in the pool and in the lake. Rooms are a bit dated but are still clean and spacious, and I love that they have condo style rooms which make travel with small kids much easier. We usually eat dinner on property at least once, and Bella Vita is always a great option. Prices have (unsurprisingly) raised a lot though. A market price lobster roll is $45, so that was one and done! Complimentary ice cream every day and s'mores every night is a nice touch though. I wish that they did conferences in the off season. A conference started during the middle of our stay and there was a noticeable difference in how crowded the resort was. So that was kind of a bummer. Overall we love it here and look forward to this trip every year.

This review is for the Mountain Adventure Park - which really deserves its own Yelp site as it is…read moredistinctly different from a ski resort! I had low expectations given the reviews I'd read on this site and felt worried we'd be throwing money away. We bought tickets ahead of time for the discounted price but I didn't opt in because I figured I wouldn't want to participate in anything. I brought a book. And then 10 minutes after arriving I filled out the 2 page waiver form and handed the lovely people in the Welcome Center $69 in exchange for my all day wrist band. What value! I had such a fantastic time. I was overwhelmed by the knowledge and friendliness of the staff and the quality of the various attractions. I highly recommend going on a weekday in the summer as it was fairly empty and we didn't wait in line for anything. I was with a group of kids aged 12-16 and they all had a blast. But there are also plenty of options for young ones, including a trampoline bungee thing, a mini ropes course, and the mountain coaster and alpine slide. I saw parents riding the alpine slide with toddlers on their laps and it looked really fun. Both the slide and coaster involve long (slow) rides up the mountainside, but the views are beautiful and it's a lot nicer sitting on a chairlift in the summer than in the winter! The slide has two courses so you can go side by side with someone, and you can control the speed, just like on the coaster. There were so many people working and it was very safe, from getting on and off the chair lift to getting on the slide and learning how everything works. Note that if you're being silly and recklessly speeding on the slide you will get hurt. Like, baaaaadly bruised. (Not hurt enough for immediate medical attention, thankfully.) So, heed the warnings of the staff and don't do it. Instead, opt for the adventure of a lifetime on the ropes course. It was AMAZING. There were so many very competent and thoughtful people working there and it was really safe. It was scary, of course, but I never felt like "oh shoot this harness is going to break" or "geez, when was the last time they checked the ladder on this thing." In fact, they were actively repairing some elements on one of the courses (which unfortunately meant one of the courses was closed). There were some moments where you could get stuck or make the wrong guess about what to do next and it seemed like magic that someone on the ground in their bright vest would shout up some good advice. It was definitely an adventure with lots of zip lines and multiple stories off the ground. The staff carefully put you into your harness and then give a very thorough overview of the safety protocol and how to clip in and out of things. I loved that there were so many course options. Lots of great challenges for people at all skill levels. Two other attractions I didn't do but others in my party raved about: a climbing wall and a zip line ride sort of thing for two people. There is a snack bar (and a tavern restaurant I didn't visit) right next to the action and the allergy-friendly options were plentiful! Including Ben and Jerry's ice cream cups, so zero cross contamination worry. The bathrooms are in the welcome center and were clean with a baby changing table. No complaints. It was a super fun day, I highly recommend it, and I thought it was great value for the money.

The mountain is not too small and not too large so perfect for families with kids. Affordable to actually stay on the mountain which is a must with little ones. Christiansens is a solid restaurant with good food and great beer with the perfect ski mountain atmosphere. The snowmaking team (Team Snowmagedon) knows what they are doing. While other mountains north or nearby are struggling, Jiminy has the good snow. They do well to combat the elements or rain or warmer weather. We always have a great time!!
