If you're here during racing season, the Springwater is literally across from the track. For starters, no one answered the door when we arrived to check in mid-afternoon, and--ONLY because we knew how to do this--we had to track down the innkeeper, Martha, via the back door. (After 7:30 pm, no one is there at all.) When Martha gave us our keys she declared that she had only these two, so we'd better give them back. Nice touch. I know an elevator cannot be installed, but could they not hire a high school kid to answer the door AND drag the luggage upstairs? As for the breakfast, the staff sets specific half-hour intervals for serving and then leaves your dish on the table to get cold if you don't arrive at the first moment. But the meal is not worth it, anyway: the same four mediocre and skimpy choices, offered every single morning; no cold cereal or fruit and muffins left out as an alternative; and we were warned that unless we filled out the breakfast order the night before we would get nothing, as the staff "cannot accommodate walk-ins." For this we paid megabucks???? I won't make this longer by cataloguing how wonderful this place used to be when it had a live-in and enthusiastic manager, but trust me, it was a real gem and everything one could want in a fine B&B. I know it's been sold and all I can figure is that the new owners tried to cut costs...such a shame.

Wasn't bad during the day. But got home at 1AM from a show that we were outside all night at. Then slept in cold all night and got up and it was absolutely freezing. Pack layers if you can because obviously no one replaced the knob for us... I guess children to have access to the heat. Pretty deal for me when paying so much for TINY cottage. Insane! Otherwise if we could have gotten some heat very please but heat is unfortunately a huge deal.

The bathroom was fully sized with a shower head that had very good pressure. There was a nice kitchenette with a full sized refrigerator, two burner stove and all the kitchen utensils/pots you will need. There were four solid, Adirondack chairs surrounding a fire pit that included, dry cut wood. Also, a picnic table that at night we played cards on. The location was a five minute drive to all the shops and the beach. It was very convenient to everything in the area. The pool was very clean and refreshing. My 11 year old loved it had a deep end so he cannonball into it. Plenty of chairs to sit out and spread on. I also have to mention Chris and Amy, two of the property keepers that keep the place wonderful looking and make sure you have everything you need. Chris even offered to start a fire for me. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Last night 9/30...9pm) a mom and her young son around 8 years old, with autism, was driven to the Blue Moon Motel late to check in. This mother went in with her son to check in and the receptionist refused to let them check in. She was waiting in the lobby while the desk person looked her up in the computer ... and she instead said verbatim.. she was "not going to be able to help her... cuz her kid was like 'that'"....mom said "like what? He's autistic" and the desk person said "oh we can tell that.. and their destructive, and we don't tolerate that here" Mom left in tears with her son and started to contact friends and family for help. Thankfully the driver stayed right with her trying to console her and offer support to the son while mom figured things out. As they were outside that same woman came to the door...proceeded to shut the blinds, lock door, turn off lights and turn off the "open" side as they stay out in the parking lot. I am all for businesses refusing service if they feel they need to for whatever reason but THIS ...this is disgusting and the community needs to know exactly what type of establishment this is..complete and utter discrimination and just nastiness. Their website states "family oriented"...and "family friendly"...this is such a lie and they need to be called out for it The mom and the son were able to find another hotel that was amazing and offered so much kindness thanks to the driver that stayed with them. Properties are beautiful and well appointed but they are notorious for after charges with claims. My recent stay I was not happy that they don't release the address until check in time especially when traveling 3 hours to get there. Overall, the unit was relatively clean, although I did find hair left in the shower and cobwebs in the bunk area. The hot tub had not been cleaned and, despite being covered, was full of leaves and bugs. The shower water pressure was extremely weak and noticeable cob webs throughout the home. Also, the bunk bed is listed as a king bed, which is inaccurate. Despite these issues, I was happy with my stay and was even considering booking one of their properties again. Several days after my stay I discovered an unexpected $500 charge on my credit card with absolutely no notice or warning. When I checked the app to find out what the charge was for, I found a message from the host simply stating: "stained linens throughout the rental." This accusation was both vague and unreasonable. We barely used the rental and only slept in one of the 3 beds and followed all check out rules to leave the unit spotless. To be charged $500 after the fact, without any prior communication, photos, evidence, or opportunity to discuss the issue, was extremely disappointing and has completely changed my opinion of this property management company. After contacting Vrbo to dispute the charge and multiple attempts to contact the property with no response. northern provided photo proof of alleged soiled linens. 1. A kitchen towel/rag that had signs of food on it (washable), 2. A pillow case with a slight soiled spot (washable) and 3. A towel that had dirt marks on it (washable). All issues were normal use and could be washed and definitely did not result in the need to replace: as requested by northern to the extent of 1. 2 pillow shams (only one was soiled) 2. a new comforter which they had no proof of any damage to 3. New dish towel 4. 6 full sets of towels (only one set was even used - they provided 3 total - 1 set for each bed and the unused ones remained folded in place where they were placed by northern) Potential guests should be aware of the possibility of additional charges, inaccurate bed sizes and most important significant post-stay charges and proceed with caution. Inspect every inch upon arrival and before departure and take photos and videos. Or even better. Don't stay at their properties at all.

The well stocked kitchen was appreciated as we made dinners for a large crowd. All rooms have comfortable beds and linens.
