Even the numbing injections (whatever they use these days!) were virtually painless. I was also impressed by how much modern technology they use. The equipment and techniques were far beyond what I expected. If you ever find yourself needing a root canal, I highly recommend putting Dr. Goerig and his team at the top of your list. They were upfront about cost before my appointment. They examined me with a big window to a squirrel feeder (five stars on that alone), they were kind, spoke to me with respect and intellect. Then they scheduled a root canal that afternoon after the exam. It had calcified due to lack of care from my previous dentist. It didn't hurt. They explained everything. They "loved the challenge." Night and day, the treatment towards me as a human was wildly different from Brite Now. I don't think it's fair when insurance for educators pegs you with . Life is stressful enough when you are poor. I am grateful my husband's insurance got me real medical professionals. I don't feel a thing and got immediate care. Thank you! He replaced the post and crown and even customized the coloring by hand to ensure it blended naturally. I was honestly blown away by how much he cared about getting it just right. The entire team stayed on, which says a lot about Dr. Choi. The other day I went in for a scheduled filling. They found, after numbing my gum and a few quick races with their brand new little x-ray gun (which makes it incredibly easy by the way) that there were a few small cracks in the tooth, but actually no cavity. Since I have terrible insurance right now and couldn't really afford to pay for the service, Dr. Choi said "no problem. We can defer this and there will be no charge for today." it is so refreshing these days when so much in life is so transactional. They then reccomended a different, more intensive cleaning, which was not covered by insurance. When they told me how much it would cost, I declined that procedure. They then declined to provide the covered cleaning. So, I essentially paid $900 to have a dentist decline to clean my teeth. Very frustrating. I know they don't provide this level of service to everyone bit this was my unfortunate experience.

Then they schedule me for almost TWO MONTHS OUT. I wait through with frequent headaches, toothaches and what feels like severe ear infection caused by the tooth to FINALLY get to my appointment date and my Drs office the calls me the morning of the extraction to tell me the Dr has to cancel the appointment and they try to schedule me out another MONTH! I call back to advocate for myself and my well being and explain that I have had dental trauma and have severe anxiety around dental work (so much so that I usually do dental work under general). I'm on the phone for 22min explaining my anxiety and need for the rotten tooth to come out. They schedule me for the next morning three towns over in Tacoma. Finally some good news... Nope. I get to Tacoma Willamate Dental only to be informed that my visit is an "emergency visit" and that NO nitrous is even available because it's an emergency appt. Even though I had been responsible and set my appt almost TWO MONTHS AGO. And now because my dentist cancelled last minute and the home office didn't think to consider telling them about the conversation where I explain severe anxiety, I have to white knuckle my way through them breaking my tooth And having to drill and pull it out in chunks. I was shaking with anxiety and livid with anger from the visit and got a speeding ticket on my way home. Screw Willamate Dental and their HORRIBLE continuity of care or concern for patients. If they provide those things they certainly didn't to me. Oh yeah, and there was NO conversation about adding bone meal into the socket after the extraction. Didn't think about it until a few hours later when I was able to stop shaking. My intention had been to have posts installed and teeth mounted to the posts. Or at the very least minimize tooth drift in my mouth where I already have two molars extracted and bone meal added. But nope. Not even mentioned as an option.

In August, we were scheduled for a scaling and root planning. After driving 2 hours to the appointment, we were told the hygienist could not do the work unless the Periodontist was there. They also tried to tells us the work (two previous dentists told us we needed) was not needed. They also told us we could schedule placing the crowns without it. Today, 9/24, in route to the 2nd appointment for the crowns, we get a call the surgeon does not want to do the crowns because he does not want to take on the liability. They cancelled the appointment. A completely unprofessional place. Office staff was nice, yet if you want work done, do elsewhere.
