I never felt judged as a new parent, she was always very nice from the beginning and she told us her honest opinion, every time. I think a lot of parents, especially new parents, can't handle the truth and feel the need to get defensive. She never pushed me, as a new mom, to do anything I didn't feel comfortable. For example, when I TRIED like crazy to breastfeed my daughter (1st child) and didn't work, she encouraged me to try to pump and give her formula, because my mental health was more important and this decision made me take care of my child properly, otherwise I would have been stressed the whole time and wouldn't enjoy my child. People are difficult, especially when they have their 1st child; if something goes wrong, it's everyone else's fault but theirs. We saw each and everyone of the doctors and nurses and medical assistants; they always introduced themselves to us. People have to understand, it's a busy practice and you're not the only one there. If they don't introduce themselves to you, don't take it personally. They see hundreds of kids and parents every day.

My mom loves it so much that she prefer here than stay home by herself. The nutrition department is above and beyond helping with mom diet and nutrition to gain some pounds as she lost it due to her heart condition, Walter and chef prepares foid that she likes, which made her gain 5 lbs. The care committee is so well coordinated they helped so much to connect all the dots to better care for mom. The nurses and contact care team is the true life line for mom, they keep an eye for mom every moment she is there. The PT and OT did fantastic job that she walk 200 feet with some Assistance. The nurse practitioner is so wonderful and detailed oriented, helpful in answering any health related questions I can go on and on Over all I loved this place highly recommend it as they variety in care they provide with such a compassion in their hearts I am planning to enroll my dad on their cognitive center as he has dementia.

The admissions and social work staff went above and beyond to assist us. The physical/occupational therapists put great effort into the therapy provided to my mother-in-law to keep her mobile. Every nurse and CNA was friendly and more than competent, however medications were often given late and most of the time it took more than 20 minutes for somebody to answer the call button. This was not due to laziness of the staff, but due to intentional understaffing. I was at Wesley to receive physical therapy. I had a horrible therapist who threatened not to give me therapy. I left messages three days in a row to the head of therapy and now, three weeks later I have yet to receive a call back. I also called the administrator three days in a row and then once 7 days later, and am still waiting for a return call. If the head of the main department for skilled nursing cannot take the time to call a patient in the facility, and the administrator cannot either, nobody should ever stay in this place. Let me conclude on a positive note. My problems were resolved by the social worker, Sarah, who took her job to heart and treated everybody lovingly and with great care and attention to detail. She deserves to work at a place that appreciates her and its patients, so if anybody needs an amazing social work, call Sarah. You won't do much better.

There was an early incident that was reported and never happened again, with shaving his face before we visit. Someone do it without shaving cream or anything. So that never happened again. They are really careful about safety, making sure patients don't fall. They have daily activities which is nice, I do think the food is just basic, so we bring him breakfast in occasionally or take him for lunch. I really like the front desk staff, nurses, and assistants. Laundry is always difficult to sort out. It just seems his clothes are never where they should be. That's my personal issue, but I get that it's a floor with memory loss. Otherwise I really recommend. Has a family feeling and good care.

Naomi who is the owner has gone out of her way to respond immediately to anything that we wanted done. When we would call her and explain what it was that was needed in help, within an hour she had 4 or 5 people call me. We were then able to explain our needs to them, meet with them and see what would work for both of us. She did not get annoyed if the needs of ours were not met with these people and she would not hesitate to send over additional people. She always understood what it was that we wanted and as my parents needed more care she was able to provide the right individuals. Once someone was hired she would follow up and be sure that we were both pleased (us as well as the caregiver) and she would check periodically as well. Naomi is caring, responsive, concerned, and on top of all the requirements that you may need. I would highly recommend her and the proof is in the fact that we have repeatedly used her for the past 8 years. The caregiver we have now is from Naomi and has been with us for 3 1/2 years. Rainbow Hospice was nothing short of a Godsend for my mother and our family. After a stay in the…read moreICU at Resurrection Medical Center, we spoke with Ashley, the director of Rainbow Hospice. I did not know she was a nurse at first since she did not share her credentials up front. Instead, she came off as someone who was warm, and welcoming, patient, and wanting to be transparent when it came to explaining what they were about and what hospice looks like. We met her at the hospital while we were trying to plan for our mom's next steps. She gave us a tour of the Rainbow Ark Hospice inpatient unit, which looked more comfortable, cozy, and single rooms looked less like a standard hospital room, but more like bedrooms at home. The family waiting areas with large sofas and a fireplace were a special touch. It was our mother's wishes to have comfort care and refuse life-sustaining procedures if it meant her quality of life would not improve. After a long battle with dementia, it was time to make that step and honor her wishes. Rainbow Hospice made sure all of the equipment needed for my mom was at home before discharge. They actually started calling about the delivery of her hospital bed and other equipment while we were still at the hospital! They were very quick. They transported mom back home with dignity and grace using a private ambulance. The EMTs were so kind and gentle with our mom, explaining everything they were doing and taking their time. All of the staff that came to see our mother - nurses Maria, Shirley, Marylou, CNA Debbie, social worker Megan, and chaplain Concy were phenomenal. They were so compassionate, caring, answering every question our family and I had about mom's prognosis and care. Due to being in the end stages of dementia, our mother could no longer speak, eat, hold her head up (she was completely bed bound) , but every single one of them greeted mom warmly, looked her in the eyes, and talked her through what they would be doing for the day. They showed her such respect. Chaplain Concy was so thoughtful and touching in his prayers with our mom. He even played church hymns our mother loved on his flute the last time he visited her before she passed. This was a touching surprise that she loved and really responded to with her eyes, showing she enjoyed it. Concy knew we were interested in the getting blessing from the priest at a home visit, and within a couple of hours of his last visit, we received a call from my mom's parish. The priest came shortly to give my mom the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. He was so attentive and very thoughtful to have done this. Sadly, our mother had passed a few days later, only after being on hospice for 11 days. The on-call nurses at Rainbow were so helpful: Jillian, Kathy, Ann Marie. The last couple of days, we called around the clock, and they did not make it seem like we were a bother at all. Mom never got to spend time at the inpatient unit, but bringing her home and seeing her loved by her hospice team is more than we could ever ask for. I could not end this review without giving a special thanks to Marylou, the nurse who came to see our mom shortly after she passed, and pronounced her. Marylou had other appointments before being scheduled to see my mom that day (for a regular visit), but after hearing of her passing, she prioritized our mom. She helped us clean her and prepare her with such care and integrity. She took her time with us, and even called the funeral home on our behalf. She was really such a blessing, and we expressed our gratitude for her that day. Thank you so much to the wonderful team at Rainbow Hospice! You gave our family a wonderful send off for our mom by helping make her comfortable in her last few days at home. Words are not enough to express how much you have made such a lasting beautiful impact on mom and our family. It means the world.
