Their pricing was similar to the competitors, but what set them apart was that they offered unlimited pier depth per section. Other companies had limits--for example, up to 20 feet, then an additional charge per foot after that. I'm glad I went with Groundworks because several of my piers ended up going 90 feet deep across 16 sections. With another company, that could have cost me significantly more. I also had their gutter guard system installed (similar to a French drain, though they claim it's better), along with a vapor barrier and mold treatment. I will say, if you have a serious mold issue, I'd recommend hiring a dedicated mold remediation company instead. I did have an issue with the mold spray, but after calling a couple of times, I was able to speak with a manager who surprisingly took my concerns seriously and resolved the issue. The salesman who came to my house, Randy S., was excellent--very thorough and knowledgeable. He always answered my calls and would text be back in a reasonable timeframe. One thing I didn't like was the same-day discount tactic. They present you with a price, then offer 10% off (or whatever discount they choose) if you sign that day. It puts pressure on you to make a major decision on the spot, which is difficult when you're spending over $50,000. There is a three-day cancellation window, but some people may see the discount as more of a sales tactic than a real benefit. I also want to mention the foreman on the job, Jose G. He was great--he answered all of my questions and even let me watch and learn a little while they were working. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. Their warranty is transferable, which is a nice bonus, and hopefully I won't have any more issues going forward.

My fiance and I purchased our first home last year, and the basement flooded twice. It had no sump or drain system in place. Besides the flooding, we were consistently getting 'seeping' of water through the cinder blocks because we are on the side of a mountain. Nathan came out for a very thorough consult, and did a great job of explaining the possibilities and options for drain systems. He was honest and answered all of our questions. This was the ONLY company out of 4 that explained how we might have a monolithic foundation, and how it needs to be treated differently for safety purposes and to maintain the stability of the home. It turned out when they began to work, we did have a monolithic foundation, so the system had to be placed a little bit differently. The employees did a great job of installing the system, and answering all of our questions afterwards. It was also very appreciated how they were able to install a vapor barrier in our crawl space during the same week (we did not realize initially that they would also be able to provide this service.) Barbara worked with us to establish a payment plan that worked for us, which was extremely helpful and appreciated because we were paying for a few major projects at the same time. We have had the system installed for about 7 months now, and everything has been working great. We have reached out a couple times with questions/concerns, and usually deal with Sal. Jose, foreman, did a great job! He was responsible and the crew were timely. Jose even helped me reinstall the dehumidifier to the new sump pump area. They took away all the garbage too! I tried on two previous occasions with two other landscapers and was disappointed both times. Ken understood what I was hoping to create with my outdoor spaces and made it happen. He used plants and rocks that were different and beautiful. One of the trees that he found for me, he hoped he could find another for himself! It is probably my favorite. Ken oversaw the project with a critical eye. He was not afraid to make changes to his original plan, in order to please me, or his own sense of style as the project progressed.
