Disclaimer solely because I want it to be understood that I'm providing valid feedback to future customers of these kids and don't want it to seem not picky.
We hired Braga to redo our roof and gutters in June, 2024 after being referred by a friend.
They did a fine job on the roof and the pricing of the job was in line with other quotes we received. A nominal discount was offered for cash/ check which was taken advantage of and appreciated.
The initial sales process was easy, albeit strange because there were 4 different people at my home at once including the lead sales person's sales coach who was taking notes and providing/ soliciting feedback during, before and after the meeting.
I'm sorry, but this should have been OK'd before hand as I'm opening my home to you and I'm not having you come to my house to solicit a job while simultaneously helping you with your sales training.
It was also strange that after signing the contract and getting the deposit to do a job 3+ weeks later that they let's a huge metal advertising sign in the middle of my lawn without so much as asking permission.
Communication, while being something they pride themselves on was also surprisingly challenging.
While there is an abundance of communication it's on a multitude of platforms including group texts, email and third party website that you have to log into to check the status of the jobs. Clunky, OK, but difficult to stay on top of as a customer for sure.
It shouldn't have to be a chore.
More importantly was not the quantity of the communication but the quality and the substance.
There were several points where things needed to be clarified ( like who was responsible to hire/ manage/ schedule electrician for installation of an attic fan) were difficult to get answered. Not because the answer itself was difficult but because the project manager was more interested in being condescending than being helpful.
Somehow communicating with people, well like normal people, is too much to ask in 2024?
Lastly and most importantly, we feel completely disrespected.
I understand social media is vital to business, I also understand that in my 43 page roofing contract I signed a release that Braga could use any photos or video taken in our property for marketing purposes.
All good and well.
However, I was really upset when a friend messaged me a video from Braga's instagram where they tout their superior roofing catch all system (by the way it didn't seem to work so great as our yard is still full of nails and screws) but then end the video with the project manager complaining that he stepped in dog feces in our yard and saying "clean up your damn yard" and "take care of your dogs".
Sorry our backyard is beautiful.... we have 3 dogs and clean up daily (including the morning the roofers came).
It's strange that I feel the need to defend myself and my home to a service provider I'm hiring and paying.
Maybe don't insult your customers while posting their home on social media?
Then, the real kicker, when I reached out about the video I got a canned apology... followed by a condescending and patronizing response... followed by more request for feedback to help make them better!?!
So all in all, will you get a good roof with Braga?
Sure.
It'll be slightly more expensive too, but they at least articulate why that might be good for you based upon their product line.
But along the way you'll be met with the oddest mix of weird communication, condescending/ patronizing and over complication.
This company appears to be the byproduct of young second generation owners and business social media influencer hype culture instead of common sense and courtesy.
