-0 stars I recently enrolled in an online DUI class through your organization, paying $360 for a Wednesday, August 14th through Friday, August 16th morning session. I have been attempting to contact your company since 9:30 AM this morning to receive the link required to access the class, but my calls were not answered until 10:03 AM. When I was finally able to speak with a representative, they claimed to have sent me the necessary link, though they were unable to provide any proof of this. I was then transferred to the office manager three times before being rescheduled for a Friday, August 16th afternoon session, as well as all-day sessions on Saturday, August 17th and Sunday, August 18th. This revised schedule was highly inconvenient, as I had made other plans that I was forced to cancel. The office manager, Maggie, assured me that she would call to confirm my information and ensure I receive the link to access the class. However, this did not occur. I called again at 4:30 PM to confirm my information and was once more promised that I would receive an email with the link by 6:00 PM. I have been calling since 5:00 PM and have yet to receive either the promised call or the link required to join the class session. I find this level of disorganization and lack of follow-through to be highly unprofessional. As a result, I am requesting a full refund of the $360 I paid so that I may seek out a more reliable provider to complete the required DUI course. I was being polite as a new student asking questions cooperating, and etc. My instructor Jan Davis is very rude and unprofessional, I am treated like a fool and being muted by her on my zoom for just participating. MUCH IMPROVED from 2yrs ago (have had 3 teen drivers) -DRIVING INSTRUCTORS - some really good, others are absolutely horrible; -LESSON AVAILABILITY - ok to poor, They really need to hire more instructors to increase lesson availability or offer more lessons on weekends and late afternoons/evenings, basically you have to book at least a month -1.5mo in advance, really should disclose this or let potential customers see dates/times lessons are available before signing up & paying as some drivers have a timeline and schedule conflicts like school, feels smarmy when they take your money (no refunds) only to find out when you go to book a lesson that everything is fully booked the next few weeks ; -LESSON BOOKING WEBSITE MUCH BETTER -visually easier to book than before, could still be improved; -COST - is comparable to what other drive schools charge; -CARS - newer, clean & has safety features; -HOURS OPEN & FRONT END STAFF - very limited opening hours, difficult to get a real person to talk to, have to call many times to talk to someone or leave many messages to have someone call back (not understaffed because this was the case even before Covid); more helpful now than before, where previously the front end staff were downright rude There is one driving instructor that should not be an instructor because this person is so rude, abrasive, hyper critical, and demeaning. Not really conducive to be an instructor teacher. I complained about their booking website over a year ago especially how difficult it was to maneuver and see what was available (needed to go to each individual instructor to see their availability instead of having a master calendar, block times were either very light grey if booked or white if not (suggested red or green so right away can see availability), light grey or white were so visually hard to tell what was available & after selecting it didn't tell you availability until after you typed in address & info etc, then if unavail you had to start over again looking for another time) read more

Verline Mister is an incredible teacher. Throughout the lessons, my confidence in my driving grew enormously. She had all sorts of tips for helping me learn parallel and reverse parking and general comfort when driving. She was also extremely nice to talk to, making for an even more amazing experience. The staff is impatient, they keep cutting you off when you are talking. There is very poor communication and little advance notification. I had purchased an online driving defensive driving class for my wife many days earlier but had received nothing beyond an order acknowledgement. When I was finally able to reach them I was told an email would go out just hours before the actual class. This is not typical of online classes but they could have at least added a note about this when acknowledging the order! 05/09/2021 I updated the rating from 1 to 3. It was nice to receive a prompt follow up from the zonal leader. A business that is hungry is a good thing in my book. Also the instructor was extremely patient and helpful in resolving the unexpected challenges with the course completion formalities late into the night. read more

I took the class with Jan Davis and I have never met a more impatient individual. all of us in the class were attempting to complete her instructions but she refused to wait a proper amount of time. Ms. Davis immediately began ridiculing her students and took offense when students tried to explain themselves. read more

Jan Davis was condescending, impatient and ridiculed me when I took her class. She over-talks you, and silences you if you have an independent thought from hers. She was the most horrible person to take instruction from. She made it hard to learn because you were constantly annoyed by her antics. At one point in the class, she wanted to actually control the muscles in my face, while I was on mute. Totally unacceptable. It got so bad that I had to get her supervisor involved during break. If you are unlucky enough to land in her class, just leave and request another instructor. Sooner or later they will get the picture and release her, as she is a liability to the business. If I could score a zero, I would. The rest of the people at this company were fine and kept apologizing for her. Ms. Davis is a poor representation of this business. read more

My son took their driver's education online and in the car in 2021 and found it great. Not sure why reviews are so bad.

I paid $580 for eight hours of driving instruction for my daughter. I called today because I was unable to book her drives online as they all were blocked. Leslie answered rudely and when I asked if any other appts were going to be opened in the next two months, she said nope, whatever is there is there and hung up. I am asking for a refund like everyone else and will dispute with Amex if they refuse. I suggest you do the same if you take a chance with this company. Horrible customer service. read more

Do NOT use this driving school. It's not worth the pain. If I could give negative stars, I would. I signed up for 6 hours of driving instruction with this school. The lessons themselves were mediocre. Instructors are not consistent across meaning you will learn different pointers from each one making it confusing when you're trying to practice something like parallel parking. All instructors wore a mask for the most part. I had one encounter with an instructor who was sick and coughing the entire time. They assured me they were vaccinated and were only sick with the cold. I had to repeatedly remind them to pull up their mask and insisted we drive with the windows down. Scheduling the lessons was a complete nightmare. Their scheduling website is a mess. Instructors are supposed to update their schedules at the end of the month for the coming month, however, many don't. And for those that do, their schedules fill up quickly. There is also no quick way to figure out what dates are still available. You have to go through each and every instructor for each and every site, which took me almost an hour to do, just to book one lesson! I had my first lesson booked on a Saturday. My instructor had cancelled my lesson but no one alerted me. After waiting about 40 minutes, I called the instructor to which they said the driving school should have called me to inform me the lesson was cancelled. I was never called or emailed. All in all, the lessons were mediocre and the scheduling was a nightmare with horrible communication. Don't go with this school. read more

I paid almost $400 for a virtual class scheduled to begin on Tuesday June 18 at 10. I called Friday June 14 and Monday June 17 for information on how to access the class. I was told that I would be given an access code via email both days. Never received. I called on the morning that the class was supposed to start at 9 am. My first calls went unanswered and then a woman answered and assured me that she would send me the access code before the class started. Still no code. I then called again at 9:58 and was told that it was too late to enter the class which started at 10 and this was not my fault. I was told that I could go to class the next day and would receive the code Tuesday afternoon. The woman on the phone pretended to care about my frustrations and assured me that she would personally call me and send the code. Neither one of those things were done. It is Wednesday morning..I'm supposed to have class and still do not have a code to access the class. It seems that they took my money and have no plans to actually allow me to attend the class. Will be exploring all legal options. read more

Worse experience ever. Once you pay, they don't answer your calls or emails. I paid for 32 hours of Joshua class and only received 28 hours. Classes were scheduled until 5 PM, but they ended at 3 PM. The link I received to schedule the driving lessons didn't work, and it took 10 calls for someone to answer the phone..I left messages...no one called back from the Lawrenceville office.. I sent emails and still waiting for the answer. I called another office hoping to get in touch with someone and not answer, but I did get a call back that turned into nothing. The lady said that she was going to message the Lawrenceville office asking to call me ..and I am still waiting for the call. When taking the driving lessons, the driver instructor told my 16 years old daughter that she was asking dumb questions. read more

This school is ridiculous. The online course is just fine, but trying to schedule the driving time you paid for is a joke. You have to get online in 5 minute period in the middle of the day on Thursday and constantly hit refresh to try to schedule one of the 5 appointments they schedule for the whole week. It has been 3 weeks of trying for an appointment and we have not been able to get one. Don't waste your money! read more

I have made numerous calls, voicemails, emails to request my daughter's driving certificate to no avail. We had to cancel/reschedule our last test because we couldn't reach anyone to have it emailed. We still don't have it in hand for a RETEST scheduled for Thursday. So disappointing. Poor customer service wouldn't be appropriate as there is NO customer service to rate! read more

I'm very pleased with the customer service of everyone I have spoken to through the booking process. I understand the frustration of the booking and availability of instructors (should be discussed up front.) But I just kept checking the booking site and new times became available within a week of signing up. My daughter felt extremely comfortable and learned a lot in the 3 lessons she had with April. She helped her become more confident in many different areas on the road as well as parallel parking. I'm thankful for an instructor with such a calm demeanor bc it truly helps a student driver!! read more

The lady who took my call ssId she could sign him up for May 21-29 9am - 6pm. She said log into the website so here we are on day 1 can't get in tried calling phone. Up the. someone answering the phone says let me transfer to Buford then what I was holding abs was hung up on again. I had to call back 7 times to get someone to try to login and this Lisa who tried to help was messaging whoever meanwhile we are now 40 mins still not logged . Then Lisa says did you sign the contract what contract that was not advised when I called so now there is a additional step never discussed this is completely unacceptable. If I needed to sign a contract I would've done now we can't get in the class abs other dates don't work with our schedules bc of sports that are mandatory .. I requested to have a supervisor to call me back immediately nothing . They taking money , grant money with no service and Customer service reps are clueless . DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use A-1 Driving school! I scheduled my daughter a month in advance to take the Drivers Education class on line. I spoke to their representatives a few times prior to the class and was assured everything was in place and processed and that I would receive the link 2 days in advance. I did not receive the link. I called several times, and could not get through. When I finally got through, they transferred me to another location. The call did not go through and I was disconnected. When I called again, someone picked up and hung up on me. The morning the class was suppose to start, I still did not receive the link, I drove over to the the Johns Creek location and with no apologies, nor explanation, I was told, since she missed the first 2 hours of the course my daughter would need to take the next offering of the class, the following week. She had already taken off a week from work and they were expecting her to take off another week from work. They took no responsibility for their error, had no consideration for our time and made no attempt to even have my daughter make up the 2 hours she missed because of their negligence . There was another mother in the office going through the same ordeal as my daughter. I requested my money back and went to another driving school. DO NOT use A-1 Driving School for your child's driving education. Very poor management and customer service. read more

My son was signed up for two weekends of Joshua's Law classes at this location. The day of the test came and he still had not received a link to sign in to the online class. When I spoke to the rude woman at this location she told me that the class was cancelled because not enough people signed up and he would have to reschedule. My son took these two weekends off of work in order to do the class and he paid over $500 of his own money. When I asked if we could be refunded since our contract was for these dates I was simply told "no". When I asked why we hadn't been told about the cancellation, I got a response of "I don't know". Not even a lousy apology. I don't recommend anyone make the same mistake we did by signing up with this location. read more

Communication and a better scheduling platform would go a long way to improve this business. We paid in September but have been unable to secure a lesson. Scheduling is at least 9 weeks out in our area. When a teacher cancels that appointment is not upheld in a consistent time frame. We paid in September for lessons and testing- we have a completely flexible schedule (any lesson, any time). No lesson 5 weeks later. Three instructor cancelations thus far. "Day-of" cancelations have pushed "rescheduling" into January 2021. We received no call or email on the last cancelation, just a no-show. This is ridiculous. No information forthcoming on how to book the test. read more

I chose A1 Driving school in the John's Creek Area as a beginner driver and my instructor was absolutely phenomenal. All Mrs. Verline Mister's methods and tricks helped me in a great amount and I would def recommend her. She was so so sweet to me as well as being a driven, hardworking, and wonderful instructor. Anyone looking for a place to teach you how to drive and park properly, this is the place to choose along with Mrs. Verline Mister as the instructor. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to pass with a 100 on my drivers test! :) read more

I've had a hard time making appointments for the driving portion, called several times, I was told to wait bc instructors have not posted their schedule and they will get fired if they don't. Well they still didn't have a schedule available by mid August so I asked for a refund for the driving portion and the class certificate. Here we are in September and I have to call again. They don't remember me!!!! They said they will take care of it today....we'll see.... read more

This driving school committed fraud against me. The manger Amber C in Douglasville is blind coping driving school attendee's contract with all their personal information to random people. She mistakenly included my email is how I caught what she was doing. When I brought it to her attention she lied and said I was the only one she blind copied. When Mike, I assume is the owner contacted me after I left a negative review he revealed the truth but never apologized and was unwilling to pay to have my personal information monitored for a year since they put my I info in jeopardy. No one blind copies anybody by mistake as they insist it was just a mistake. That is a feature that has to be looked for on email. Now Mike is giving me the run around about handling the situation. Since he is unwilling to help, I will be contacting the people that I received information for and let them know there information was breached as well. I will also be filing a dispute with the GA approve website list of driving schools. This school should not be approved by the state for mishandling peoples personal information. They think just deleting the email will solve the problem and it will not. I don't know who all she sent my information to. This is far from over! read more

First off my instructor was an absolute cuck. He used the entire session to try and brag about how he's made a million dollars. He basically used the whole time to talk about himself. He took at least an hour and a half talking about his trip to Italy, and 30 minutes explaining how sandwiches there are smaller. The man used the class to advertise his business of advertising or something like that? Anyway he put his phone number on the board and once again bragged about his supposed money. There was a man in class who was harassing me (unbeknownst to the teacher) and he made a joke about the guy trying to flirt with me. It was very middle school. I had to explain to him later about the harassment and he DID say I should've made him aware. However I did not want to confide in a teacher who seemed unstable and who only cared about himself. His actions were unpredictable. There was so much more but I'll say this last thing. He was saying something about how you need to wait until you're at least mid 30s (or somewhere around there) to get married or the guy you'll have babies with is dumb. I raised my hand and talked about how babies usually get most of their intelligence from their mothers. This comment wasn't to insult him, it was to inform him and the class on what my college classes taught me. He was very insulted by it and said started yelling about his GPAs and degrees. Then dismissed the class. It was very weird to have been offended then spout your GPAs at someone. It just doesn't prove anything. A smart response would've supposedly said why I was wrong and not take it so personally. People aren't always 100% right. Aside from the fact that he was trying to influence us with very biased information, we were talking about facts and once again he made it about him. Oh and after this he said he "read me" and knew I was out to get him. Then when I came up to him after class and said "I don't hate you" he said "I know". If he knew I didn't hate him what was the point of him giving me attitude and trying to "school" me in front of everyone. Like I said...this class was entirely just to boost his ego or fulfill his need for attention. I just seriously can't believe the government required me to take this because I got a ticket. If you're reading this...this class was absolute buffoonery. P.S He said that ADHD doesn't exist... Then assumed I thought Africa was entirely made of only tribes because I said "I wanted to go there to see the animals". I like lions so obviously I'm ignorant right? read more

Used A1 Driving School for my defensive driving class required by court. Great and easy class. The instructor is funny and not monotoned so that helps keep your attention throughout the class. Overall great class and I would highly recommend it. read more

Very impressed. My daughter did the classroom portion of drivers ed here and it was very standard. But she also had 6 hours of behind the wheel training, and that was excellent! Her instructor Scarlett McLain was stellar -- giving lots of good tips and making sure she is truly prepped for her road test. Plus, they are cheaper than Drive Smart Georgia. read more
