I loved this place and the people inside. Yesterday I stopped by to give the money I owed on a pick-up they let me take on credit (they don't do tap pay), and because I have a sneaking suspicion I turned something in and forgot). I was distracted and just noticed the door locked and no sign or explanation. Today I was less distracted and finally noticed that everything that wasn't nailed down was gone. Poof. I brought my brand new silk dress to A-1 cleaners because it had multiple oil stains from my toiletries spilling in my suitcase --I wasn't even sure if the oil would come out, but the staff were super friendly and said they would do everything they could. This is my neighborhood dry cleaners and I've been bringing my dry cleaning here for several months. Today I was dropping off an expensive pair of jeans for a minor repair (they just did the same thing for me a couple weeks ago) and first he said they would need to clean them (I literally just took them out of the dryer), and then he said I would have to leave a deposit. I've been having dry cleaning and alterations done for many many years, and no one has ever asked me to leave a deposit (especially for what would have been probably a $10 charge). Plus in the past when I've left my dry cleaning (and no deposit) they never put what the cost will be on the receipt, or list the number of items, which just seems kinda shady. I won't be using A-1 cleaners anymore. read more

I live in the neighborhood and have taken my dress clothes here for years. Also they've done a really nice job on alterations for me at a reasonable price. It is owned by a really kind couple who are always there and have only taken a vacation once in about ten years (and had their adult son take over briefly). read more

We've been going there for 10 years. Dry cleaning, laundering, tailoring. I'd give them 6 stars if I could. As good as any cleaners we've gone to anywhere. Small family owned operation. You'll always deal with the owners. They are always there and work their tails off. Always fair priced and helpful. We had them do all kinds of stuff - suits, curtains, coats and hats. Great work. They do a good job on tailoring too. Different stuff - figured out how to changed out pockets on a coat to make them deeper with better fabric. Always courteous with a smile. Horrible. I've been a client for 6 years and needed a suit cleaned and pressed for an out of town funeral. They have extremely limited payment options and would not accept AMEX (or Apple Pay or Venmo or Paypal or for my wife to give them our MasterCard number over the phone). Fair enough. I explained that I had a flight that day to attend an out of town funeral but the owner refused to stay open 10 extra minutes to allow me to run home and get a different card. I've given you my business for 6 years, even after we moved to a new neighborhood, and you can't stay open a few extra minutes so I can have my suit back for a funeral? read more

I was over charged for some clothes. They were rude about it. No explanation for why they charged so much for some shirts. I just moved in the area and use dry cleaning often. Sadly to them, I won't be coming back. I have never seen such awful customer service. I hope they learn from this. Good luck. read more

Simple, clean, friendly and courteous service. They quickly learn your name and respond before you walk through the door to fetch cloths or be at counter before customer. Parking is always available, walking access from local neighborhood and close bus access. read more

The worst part is that they yelled they were going to call the cops because I was trying to figure out what was going on. I work in the service industry and know customer service. I tried twice and have now given up. I took a pair of jeans to them to have dry cleaned before taking them to my tailor to have a small seam tear fixed. The woman pointed out that the hole was there and I said I knew. Would have been nice if she warned me then and there that the cleaning process would make the small rip become a much bigger frayed hole. When I mentioned it when picking them up she said "I told you there was a hole". Yes, she did tell me there was a hole but she did not tell me what would happen to said hole if it was cleaned without being fixed. Partially my fault for dry cleaning ignorance, sure. So I decided to have another pair of jeans cleaned by them. This time I made sure there were no holes. But when I picked them up, to my dismay they had press creased down both legs. I asked them to take the crease out and they told me the only way to do it is clean it again and that they press all the pants they clean, well except for the other pair I took to them that I was actually wearing that did not have a crease. Instead of offering to clean them again for free to take the crease out, both husband and wife got argumentative and stand offish. Who even wears creased jeans???? So if you visit them, make sure you tell them exactly what you want and don't want done to your clothes and hope you have everything right. Or just go to another cleaners. read more
